I started implementing savings challenges in my life early on in my financial journey. Although I had debt and not much wiggle room in my budget, I challenged myself to save. It started with saving my spare change. I started the 2021 savings challenges at the beginning but then life happened and fell off of the savings wagon. 2022 is a brand new year and a brand new start ❤️❤️❤️

Changing the percentage or dollar amount would be an easy modification too! Instead of $1 per item for laundry, you could scale it down to 10c or up to $2.

Saving has REALLY been a struggle for me in the past. The first time I managed to save a decent amount of money was when I had my first well paying job and low bills. I realized how much money my co-workers spent on cigarettes even though they made less money than me. I estimated that the heviest smokers used about 70€ per week and realized, I could easily save that much every week. So I started doing that. Basically I just pretended to live a smoker's life and put aside 280€ in total of my month's salary. Some months I ended up saving a little bit less, cause I was used to spending a lot. But I did manage to save about 800€ before my summer vacation and could travel within my country, as well as abroad.

I JUST purchased this challenge. I have attempted the past 2-3 years of these challenges and have yet to do it for the full year. 2022 WILL BE the year I complete the challenge!

What I love the most about this is that the challenges can easily go global! It's just a matter of changing currency values. I'm in my first well payed job plus moving out by myself in a new city. There have been many changes but I'm reay to safe for my future and my dreams!

I need this! I like doing different challenges to mix it up, but have found all these things I’m doing is taking away from paying off debt. I need the versatility of this, but keeping it simple enough for me to continue paying towards debt.

I have been doing these for the past 3 years. I absolutely love them. I fall off every year around June and my son's birthday. I want to stick to it a full year and use the savings to get a huge payment for a debt or jump start the next year's sinking fund goals. You always inspire me and happy birthday! My first time doing the challenges and I'm so pumped! I can't wait to work on the children's challenges with my daughter...she's just 3 but I feel like, even if she doesn't fully get the concept...her saving $$ will be super helpful in the future. every week when I was younger my grandpa would give me money to put into a big jar that was for college I can definitely say that it’s helped me save and I’ve never been a big spender. My mom and grandma would give me their spare change to put into my piggy bank, I remember the first big amount I had saved was $114 all in change. I’m 20 now and I’m trying to save up for a house with my fiancé, definitely trying some of these challenges with him. Thank you Budget Mom!💕

I just started watching your content and it has absolutely changed everything I was doing with my budget. I am not a cash spender, I put everything on a card that gets really great cash back. I pay off each purchase from my phone before I even leave the parking lot, so I treat it like a cash system and write it on a tracker while I am in the car as well. My question is, if I am doing savings challenges where I take money from my "envelopes", how do I track that on my expense tracker? If I take it from my food budget, do I include that in my overall percentage at the end of the month or do I keep it separate?

I've struggled a lot with my savings this past year so I'm really hoping this challenges will help me reach some goals in 2022. I loved all the challenges, even though there are a couple I can't really do but oh well... I'm also doing some of the kids ones for sure! They look so much fun!!! Can't wait for January to come so I can start!

I hope you consider investing rather than saving money. It's twice or thrice better if you invest it. By just saving your money, the value of it is still the same as time passes by. By investing it, your money can double or triple in value.
