That’s like saying I’ll never buy another General Motors vehicle because they dropped Oldsmobile and Pontiac. Polaris is a business that survives by making a product that’s desirable to the public. Indian was out selling the Victory brand three to one. That’s just the way companies work.
Don’t trip brother Polaris is an awesome company. They’ve always made things right whether it was my SxS or my bike! They’ve even hooked me up with in house credit for the inconvenience. I’ve been really happy with them
I just did a lateral trade for a chieftain. Had enough of “challenger” issues. 7 check engine, 2 no start, replaced GPS, TPMS, battery. All this goodness within 11,000 miles.

For sure! I just want to ride it! lol. But yes, they'll get it sorted out and I'll be back on the road soon and finally be able to do a proper video on it!
I hope that these issues are corrected and are a memory for you. Its very frustrating I know. Good that your dealer is on it . Thats half of the battle.

This is why I went with a Road Glide. I like the Challenger a lot, but I've seen this kind of thing reported too many times to feel comfortable buying one when my nearest dealer is 3 hours away. My Harley dealer is 6 miles away. I love the Challenger though, it's a great riding motorcycle, hope you're able to get everything sorted in a reasonable amount of time.
I know what that cap is for on the fairing. The cap on the right side is for the trickle charge. Which you pointed out. The cap on the left fairing ASM is for the installation of a fog light button. I have one on my 2024 Pursuit Dark horse.
Hope this gets resolved. I am also in St Pete and purchased new 2023 Indian Challenger Dark Horse, Titanium Smoke in February. I've not had any issues thankfully. That said, there is one lingering problem with a Denali SoundBomb horn installed by dealer. When I hit the horn, I get the check engine light. Diagnostic code pops up and it indicates an electrical fault. Problem is intermittent. Dealer is going to pursue it with Indian/Polaris and stay on top of it. So far no regrets with this bike. I traded in my 2014 Yamaha RoadStar and have been more than pleased with all the tech and upgrades with this Indian. See you on the road around here.
not going to name brands, but my 2023 motorcycle at 200- 680 miles has been in the shop on the 6th time for warrenty issues. I believe anything built in the pandemic years caused a hostile work environment. gut through it an it will work out. if not loss 5,000 and trade for a 2024 model.
It really sucks that you're having these issues. I've had two Victory motorcycles that have not given me any grief. I love the challenger and I'm considering getting one.
I have a feeling it's a small issue. I haven't lost any sleep over it yet anyways! lol. The ride of this bike is amazing though and can't wait to have it back!
I myself ride a 2017 Victory High Ball, and it's given me tons of issues. But I can totally relate to what he's said regarding the fear in the back of your mind. I had to have the whole engine and transmission disassembled to rebuild the transmission last year, spent the majority of the year at the dealership, got it back and less than 500 miles later it started dying on me, ended up needing to replace the fuel pump, and now I'm at the point where I ride it to keep the battery charged and the fluids moving, but rarely ride it for more than 10-15 minutes, I can't enjoy it anymore, I'm too paranoid that the more I ride it the more likely it is to break again. Definitely looking into a Road glide or a Challenger. Both bikes seem to have issues that need ironed out, but far less so on the indian.
I just bought a 2022 Challenger limited. I made video also of my problems. The dealership changed out the ride command and battery. So far, no issues, going on a ride today, finger crossed 😀
Love the look of the challenger recently found this bike while researching goldwings the Honda reliability is hard to over look when the only reason I like the challenger more is for it’s looks
I’m watching this video because I keep bouncing back and forth between the Challenger and the Chieftain…. But I can’t help but notice the Magna 750 v4. I had that same exact spec. Fantastic bike, would just start up and go… and boy did it ever boogie.
I have a 2022 Indian Pursuit (basically the Challenger with the tour package) Had to replace the battery right out of the barrel, coded allot and weird things similar to what your describing. Don't think Indian puts in a good stock battery. Might be worth a shot.
Beautiful bike..advantage of new is warrenty..imagine having to pay out of pocket for repair ect.one thing is true in all things..complexity breeds failure/problems
To much technology in the modern motorcycles these days . Turnsignal goes out check engine. Light comes on .. was told any light goes out the check engine light comes on
I own a 2018 road master and had the same check engine lights, Indian replace all electricals on the bike, it ran for another year and riding truth Okefenokee the same shit 💩 started happening but it shut down one of the cylinder. My wife was done and we Traded that pease off shit and went back to Harley. 26,000 miles and no problems. Did Rout66 no problems after 6,860 mile trip. Good luck with that Indian bro
Unfortunately the dealership will be just guessing. They receive no challenger platform training. That’s why all they EVER do is scan the codes and send them to corporate and do only what corporate says. You’ll likely be in this cycle for ever. Trust me, I’m speaking from experience and my issues are still not resolved and I have no warranty left.
Oh man, Sorry to hear you're still having issues. Fingers crossed mine isn't tooo bad, but who knows. My BMW had warranty work being done until I traded it in. lol
Traded my Challenger, had enough. Just off warranty and don’t trust it anymore not to have future problems. And the extended warranty doesn’t cover electrical and programming issues.
Completely agree! I had a 2020 Challenger and it had issues the whole time I owned it. The dealer basically stripped it down at one point and never solved whatever the root issue was. Every 2 or 3 thousand miles an old or sometimes completely new issue would show up and all electrical. I put up with it for 3 years without it ever being fixed and bought a Street glide. Over 9000 miles so far and not a single issue. The Challenger is more comfortable and quicker, but my confidence level in the Challenger was just too low after having to trailer it to a dealership.
As a retired mechanic who troubleshoot his own stuffs even while retired, I can assure you Your Indian Challenger is being what it’s designed to do. Cheap built and expensive. P0231 Low voltage means your catalytic inverter is clogged with carbon and dirty ur O2 sensors prematurely. Put a new one in there will only last you so long before you get the same issue. Your ignition coil could be a worst problem. Spark plug has heat range settings. Your cylinder has a cooling point. Harleys are built to allow air passed through called a fin. Most touring built Harleys also has a liquid cooling on the cylinder head. Which is great from a mechanic standpoint. Indian is built from an engineer standpoint and not a mechanic. So for your Indian beside replace the whole clogged stock exhaust you may need a new engine ASAP. Could be the thread of the spark plug that’s damaged. Could be the Piston Ring that’s damaged. Or it could simply be your coil wire is defective or loose. And it can also be a bad spark plug itself. I just traded a car that had 35k miles which was considered certified refurbished and had a 3 months warranty that gave me one hell of a time with cylinder issues. I was smarter than you and not involved dealer diagnose because carfax comes into play next. So I change the plug several times to watch it does the same thing. Change the coils. Then realized my camshaft is worned out and the engine is ticking extremely loud. I immediately walked in to a different dealer after I put the car back the same way I received it and traded it in. They didn’t know what hit them until several months later. But they do the same thing to customers which serves them right for one to do the same thing to them.
Had all those problems on my 17 Chieftain.... The KeyFob controls soo much of these things.... I had all the lights on my screen go off at once... New KeyFob battery solved everything... Change it and let me know if the codes go away

Polaris makes the worst ATVs. I hope they didn’t make the Indian brand with the same quality as the ATVs. But from what I’ve been able to find, Harley has 10 times the issues. Also did you add anything electrical to the bike lately. Because these bikes are very sensitive to added electrical items. Also check your battery connections. They tend to loosen and cause major issues
Where are the Harley bashers now ? Not dissing Indian. Any machine especially the newest electronics loaded new bikes, cars and trucks these issues seem to be plaguing them all.
Electronics = Problems. Always. lol. My BMW had more issues out of the box than I can count. Everything I purchased after 2020 had some sort of electronics issue.
@SethMichael One suggestion for you is to keep your bike on a battery tender whenever its in your garage. Maybe you already do so. Seems these electronic loaded bikes have a bit of parasitic draw. Enough to draw the battery voltage down to a point where it can be the cause of some of the issues with your bike.
I had a 2023 pursuit with so many issues. It was so bad that Indian purchased my bike back. I had the same thing with the bike stalling. I have lots of videos of my TikTok. I had to fight with Indian for about a year to get it all worked out
This sucks and has got to be a stressful situation. I hope Indian makes this right. Seems electrical issues are a central theme with this motorcycle in particular.
you guys that use heel-shifters are just following a "FAD" . You use more effort and more time picking up and moving your foot , to shift a bike..... if you had a stiff/busted ankle , THEN I'D UNDERSTAND.
So I had a 2020 Indian Challenger, and I loved it! Then stuff started to break, and NONE of the dealers could help me. Indian makes great bikes, but has the worst dealer network/service of any of them. My challenger was a million times better than my harley, but harley at least I could get service/parts.
Ever since the plandemic, everything purchased seems subpar....even your S1000RR. But the S1K was worth the aggravation...this bike is not you. Looks like a bit of your soul has died since getting rid of it. Sell it and get an old K5 and run it against your mates for content :)
@@SethMichael I mentioned that as an ironic statement. 😅since Hondas are usually considered one of the best brands. I've owned three: 100,000+, 65,000+ and about 20,000 miles crash totaled.
Indian doesn’t offer a lifetime extended warranty. That is a dealer option only. It is a really nice perk from your dealership for sure but that “lifetime” usually only covers the engine and transmission and does nothing for the electrical problems. Indian does offer limited warranties, yes. I looked into them when I purchased my 2023 Pursuit. I ended up going with an aftermarket warranty for an additional 6 years beyond my factory warranty.
