Yep and this is why I won't buy the 2024 Chevrolet Trax either. Keep in mind that both the new Trax and this new Envista are way too heavy for a 136 hp 1.2 liter 3 cylinder engine. It will feel underpowered and slow, especially on the highway. No thanks.

At least it’s not a CVT! And if you compare this powertrain to something that was found in a Sonic or Spark, it’s a decent combination. We’ll be driving this in the new Trax next week, stay tuned for driving impressions!

I drive a 2019 Encore daily as a commute vehicle. It zips thru traffic with its small size, gets over 30mpg average and the little 138hp engine does a perfectly adequate job of moving it along. This new model looks much better and the interior is a big step up. The ST trim looks like a great middle ground. At 73k miles over the last 3 1/2 years with no issues, this may well be my new daily driver.

@Braeton Wilson ,not really. I bought this encore originally for my daughter. She drove it for 3 years and wasn't gentle with it and put 69k miles on it in that time. I have put another 4k on it since she gave it back after getting a bigger vehicle. It runs and drives perfect, has all the room I need for a daily commute vehicle ( 80 miles a day) most of what I have read seems to show a lifespan of about 200k miles with just normal maintenance. I did do a 4 wheel brake job and fluid flush and refill at 72k miles. Still had the original pads..lol. Next week I am doing a transmission fluid drain and filter replacement. Just normal maintenance to keep it going. It is paid for so I'm just going to keep driving it until it's too expensive to repair. If I can get 5 more years out of it I will be beyond happy.

The engine may seem small in this but when you compare its hp at 136-137 hp and 162 lb ft to some direct competition and tweeners that border the Subcompact/Compact Class its not bad at all and the turbo will really help. Yes its a 3 cylinder and the competition is 4 cylinders it shouldn’t make much difference and should hopefully help MPGs. For some examples the Hyundai Venue and Nissan Kicks have around 121-122 hp & 113-114 lb ft no turbo, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 152 hp & 184 lb ft turbo, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 148 hp & 145 lb ft (168 hp optional) no turbo, Honda HRV 158 hp & 138 lb ft no turbo, Kia Soul 147 hp & 132 lb ft no turbo, Subaru Crosstrek 152 hp & 145 lb ft (182 hp optional) no turbo, and these are just some examples. So you can see its very inline with the competition and with its horsepower and torque figures. Some people will want AWD but its not available in the Envista just like the Kicks, Venue and Soul. I think this is a sharp vehicle and the Avenir trim is gorgeous and even with its optional package(s) all checked its just over $31,000.00 for a top trim fully loaded model! Not bad at all! No the Chevy Trax (the Envistas Sister Vehicle) comes in at just under $27,000.00 for a fully loaded top trim ACTIVE or 2RS trim with all of its option package(s) checked which is an amazing deal. Sure the TRAX is more utilitarian, and im sure a little less quiet and I am sure the Buick will have a few features unavailable to the TRAX that the Envista will have just like they do it with the Buick Encore GX & Chevy Trail Blazer. However both of these vehicles are a steal in terms of price, features, mpg and most of all the size inside and out. The rear seats are huge compared to most of the direct competitors

Looked interesting until I saw no rear window wiper and no rear seat air vents even on the top trims. The sloping roofline might make the rear seat useless for tall passengers. If you never use the back seat, the lack of vents and headroom won’t matter, but it’s crazy to have a hatchback with that big glass window without a rear wiper. A Corolla Cross has all the missing features despite not being “premium” like the Buick.

@@patcurrie9888 Wrong about the rear wipers. They do get used. People are also having issues with the BZ4X missing a rear wiper. No rear wiper on vehicles like this equals manufacturer cost cutting, supply chain issues getting parts or laziness.

Nice design. BUT it looks exactly like the new Encore. The fear here is that the whole Buick lineup will look exactly the same in different sizes. They need to show a little to differentiate the multiple models. Not size a size difference. That being said, I love Buicks and hope they accomplish what they are trying to do.
