We had a busy week filming 3 reveals last week! This one definitely surprised us the most! We do want to clarify, we stated in the video the base 2.0T engine makes 295 HP, the actual number is 250 HP and 275 lb-ft of torque. Lincoln initially told us the higher number but their press release says the lower number. Makes more sense to us since the Hybrid now makes an additional 60 Hp versus the non-hybrid.
@@Maxwell1989 This is a China market car, that is why it has those screens, every single car over there looks like this, the interface isn't "all new", it's just the software they've been using in China and they have to make it properly work in the American market.
It’s so funny how old design trends from the 90s are making a comeback. Back in the 90s, colored interiors, digital speedometers, full light bars on the front and rear, flush door handles, and hidden exhausts were a thing believe it or not
It’s crazy to think that just 10 years ago, the biggest screens were 7-8 inches at best, and now we have 48 inch displays. Transportation is evolving at a rapid rate
@@daekun123 lol who cares. He’s a car review. He sit their whatever he wants. All u do is blah blah and shit. U look like u donMr belong there cuz ur too young for bs.
There are only blacks, whites and greys, a single blue and read. Lincoln is removing colors at most. Unless you call adding a a fourth gray taking a chance
@@Brian-jv8iy I think these non colors reflect today's culture too. Gray and silver cars, stainless appliances, and now I'm seeing houses that have gray siding. Eternally boring. People have no taste anymore it seems.
@@naveenthemachine NAVEENTHEMACHINE SO WHAT DO You THINK AUDI SUVS ARE UPGRADED OR PLATFORM SHARED WITH VW SUVS. NAVEENTHEMACHINE Dont TALK BULLSHIT And GET A LIFE CURRY BOY
That my exact thought…I think the seat color and material makes it look like something out of the 80’s. The dash is awesome but at the same time, the execution looks kinda cheap
It's far more competitive with the RX than the X5. I honestly don't see how it would even compete with the X5. That would be the Aviator. 4-cylinder doesn't compete with the X5.
@@naveenthemachine NAUTILUS CANT EVEN COME CLOSE TO The RX And NOT EVEN IN DREAMS. NAVEENTHEMACHINE STOP THIS FAILED COPY PASTE COMMENT TROLLING .You Dont KNOW WHAT You ARE TALKING ABOUT .😂.SERIOUSLY DUDE
@@joecrash1232 the RX uses injection molded plastics throughout the interior. If you think just using injection molded plastics is high quality why not say a corolla is better quality than say a bmw 3 series since both are compact sedans?
They do that to save money, adding black gloss paint + piano black plastic reduces the overall material costs. Painting the entire car in a pearl or metallic paint is more costly for the car brand.
Sofiyan, you guys have been knocking it out of the park with the reviews. Great job. This Lincoln is an absolute gem. I hope it doesn't have any of the 1st year model gremlins. I owned an 04' Aviator and switched to Mercedes since. This might change the game for me and bring me back to Lincoln. Those screens are gems and the whole SUV oozes class. So glad they are doing AWD across the line.
I'm impressed. Wow, this is a big change for Lincoln. I like the direction they are moving in. This has got me thinking about the Aviator and what that redesign might look like.
It’s a big change for Lincoln because the interior was inspired by their rival brand Cadillac. This is not an evolution of current Lincoln interiors, this is a new adoption of Cadillac’s interior design making it’s way into yet another Ford product.
@@ChazR25 Yeah it appears to be the same Ecoboost that's been on the Ford Edge for years. The hybrid version should be more interesting. What they did with the Hybrid Escape gives me hope.
@@ChazR25 uncle had a mkz when it switched from zephyr after he passed we all drove his car and no one knew it was a 4 unit I showed them so if this is anything like that it will excite. I'm no big fan of 4's but these new ones aren't the same ones from the past slow/loud.
@@waywardboi Yeah, I'm not saying it will be a dog or anything, but car enthusiasts will know it is a 4cyl and definitely won't be fooled. For $60k+, I need a suitable engine.
Blue's Clues? I know it's not that, but the jokes are too easy. Active Glide was bad enough. I can't believe people went to college and sat around in endless meetings to come up with this stuff.
That must have been an early production model with no symphonic chimes. Is that new dash display now compatible with the next generation of Apple CarPlay?
I don't get it...this is going to cost $69k for a decent build...wtf is going to pay that for a Ford made where...in China? People are going to cross shop GV80, RX500h, X5 and pick this? Hmmmm.
Cadillac is really going to have to step it up. The XT5/XT6 doesn’t come anywhere near this. This fit & finish is already looking class leading. Just wow!
LOL. Who do you think inspired Ford on this redesign? The interior of this new Nautilus is straight out of the *production model Cadillac Celestiq* whose design language will trickle down into the rest of the Cadillac lineup. This is Ford’s attempt at beating the newly redesigned Cadillac XT5/XT6 to market with Cadillac’s own interior design language. I’m sure Cadillac is flattered by this, and you can thank GM for this redesign.
@@mybro727 the design work was all finished on this long before the Celestiq came out or was even teased. You have zero clue what you are talking about. 2024 is just the release date. Besides, that “production car” (which they will only make 300 of and is so modular and customizable it might as well be called a low tier coach build) costs 300k dollars, and it looks ugly. It may have a tech advantage over Rolls and Bentley, but I am willing to bet it won’t be nearly as luxurious or comfortable, given that it doesn’t even have air suspension to start.
@@The-fs5wn ... I believe Caddy was first with the long screen. Not to production maybe, but they unveiled the Celestiq concept in 2022. Personally I don't love the look of the Celestiq. I think they should've went with the look of the Escala concept. But what do I know? It's not like I could afford it anyway. 😆 For the original post, you can pretty much assume the XT5/6 will take design cues from the upcoming Vistiq and Optiq electrics. They have previews on their webpage. Those also have the wrapround screens, same as the new Escalade IQ electric. I'd expect similar design - if not identical. Anyway, I want to see both brands do well. Glad to see that both are stepping up.
Liking the mini-Aviator exterior but that all-screen interior is a downgrade from the outgoing model. I just don't think this dashboard will age well. Sad to see that luxury is now being defined by the amount of distracting screens and garish ambient lighting rather than deliberate material choices.
I’m a car enthusiast and this looks very well! However it’s an early production but the panel at the 6:48 mark where the door meets the dashboard is off on both the driver and passenger side. This is one thing that was common on the aviator as well. But still this is very impressive
The passenger side tail light being misaligned with the tailgate light is what got me. On a one-off show car intended to introduce your car to the world, that's what you are okay with!?
The big screen across the dash is nice, but it makes the "small" screen seem redundant. Get rid of the smaller screen and put that information up on the massive new screen you're showing off. There's so much empty wasted space up there.
Worst in reliability. This one is beautiful like the previous one. Chinese already building just as nice and not reliable vehicles. I know ppl who own Chinese cars for years and problems are much less than the worst in reliability in the us market!
I hope they managed to develop enough cooling to keep those large screens from burning out in the HOT of summer . But that interior is definitely amazing!
Not sure I can justify spending that amount of $$$ on a Lincoln 4 cylinder! I could spend less and get a new Mazda CX70 with a turbo in-line 6-cylinder with mild hybrid system, or spend about the same and get a BMW X5!
First, I do not like the steering, I prefer the traditional steering wheels, I hope that is available. Secondly, the new screen might cost tons of money to fix if it breaks down and also don't rule out software glitches. I am more of a conservative when it comes to testing out new features in a car, I favor reliability and don't need to frequent a mechanic on a new vehicle.
I really like this crossover/SUV...Now I sure hope Lincoln adds the rear ventilated seats as my Lincoln 2003 Aviator had it and also my 2018 MKT has it! I would also say this, Lincoln sales are tanking fast, they need a large 4 door sedan (maybe bring back the Continental which is still offered in China). I feel that many Automakers have forced the American public into Crossovers/SUV's. With that said, I am sorry that Cadillac discontinued the CT6 after the 2020 MY as it was a really handsome styled sedan.
This new Lincoln Nautilus is made in China! Yes, it’s built at the Changan Hangzhou assembly plant. So, if you want to support the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), then by all means purchase one!
Beyond stunning. I am extremely dissapointed that an extreme luxury brand would have non color choices such as simply silver and government compliant cloudy day gray. There is no excuse for this. My 17 MKZ is a three stage Saphire blue. Maybe Lincoln found the key to sales with this line up. But no sliver. stop with the silver.
It's too bad, the new one doesn't look as good as the last. It's lost it's unique-ness with a grill that gets lost in other models, loses it's old school class with the chrome trim around it, and the headlights also look like headlights you see on many other cars. The hood too... plain. And that's from watching the first minute of this video. Playing the rest but already a non-starter for me when I use to love and would have been happy with an Aviator.
Just when I was about to gripe about the rear looking so plain, I see this beautiful interior!! A real home run for Lincoln! They do need to add ventilated rear seats.
I’ve been dreaming of an interior where everything is in line of sight. I’ve been hoping Lincoln did this since their 2008 concept car had this. But now do this with something more my budget pls 🥺
Great looking vehicle inside and out! The seats look like they’re made from 70s/80s grade vinyl, though. Maybe it’s the poor shade of red combined with the alcantera, but yuk. No seat ventilation?!?
I would say keep the same grill dimension of the previous gen but add the "moustache" in 1:44 that curls up but in chrome. Now, they are just fighting Acura/Genesis in the superman grill department.
I always got "beluga whale" vibes from the current Nautilus. It just doesn't seem to have any good angles, and the side is most offensive. But I do like the 2.7T V6 in that one over any turbo 4.
The interior is a modern day take on the Mark VIII. I remember going in one as a kid and was amazed, looked like a spaceship. They did it once again...beautifully done.
They did a better hyperscreen than Mercedes 😂😂 might be a little bit far to get to but at least you won't ram your hands into it trying to support yourself when you step on the brakes aggressively. Porsche also did a better concept of that by putting the screens between the dash and not over it like Mercedes
This would have been the perfect time to drop EVS I think EVS will save some dying brands. Evs still so new and many people are looking for non-tesla options
Whew, that thang is N A S T Y! 🔥I’ve loved what Lincoln has been doing with the immediate past/current gen Navigator, Aviator, and Nautilus but that one there is next level, evoking the 70’s Cartier Lincoln models. If I wasn’t leasing a Genesis GV70 soon, I’d certainly consider that, as Lincoln was a close second on my shopping list. Bravo for them stepping … no … running out of the box!
Great for three years until it electrically melts down. 2020 Corsair has been plagued with gremlins since new. Look at reviews of past Nautilus models mostly negative. Great looking cars but compared to RX not even close for quality and reliability. I gave Lincoln a chance but never again, don't be sucked in by it's looks it's skin deep only
You nailed this, man! This is a great preview and really shows off the strides Lincoln is making in design and execution. I’ll admit: I’m kinda blown away by this Nautilus. It looks fantastic inside and out, and it shows that Lincoln is bringing the heat to the luxury segment. Awesome video!
Tops out at a whopping $81,000+ with a fully loaded Black Label!!! Holy $%#@! That's insanity. This thing will be worth half that in the first 18 months.
Other than a very few design mods I’d make, one being to align the side badging with the top of headlight, this is really quite a handsome design. I thought the prior gen was attractive but Lincoln somehow upped the ante. Bravo to the design team.
Agreed, altho I would move that badging even higher and place it on the hood in line with the door handles. The dash display could be reduced in size to where the clock section ends IMO. I used to own a MKX, this might get me back into one in a few years.
Nailed the design of it, distinctively Lincoln, with modern presence yet not overdone. Probably a mistake to not offer any kind of V6 or at least a 350hp+ engine option especially if they’re targeting the Germans with that price point
Given that the Aviator is 400HP, 350 seems like the right spot for Nautilus. They are marketing to a younger customer with the massive amount of tech. I believe that customer will also demand more than 310HP.
Prefer the previous year Nautilus with Jaguar like grille. Back looks kind of dated as well. Not sure what to make of the interior. I wonder how this vehicle will be from a reliability standpoint.
Ha, Yeah, that is right, that you can compare this vehicle to the RX only by the back space. It is great looking car but I buy a car/SUV not just on looks. I also think that you should include mechanical data, facts, and keep up with maintenance records to show how it holds up over time.
Exterior looks nice. Interior is HORRENDOUS. What's with the huge reflective curved slab?!? Where is the intricate design? Why do they continue to insist on using the push-button gear selector? UGH.
I have Ford Edge Sport and we love it. We heard that Ford isn't going to make the Edge anymore. This is beautiful and about the same size as the Edge. Nice!!
Think of the cost and time required to service this Pandora’s box of insanity. And then try to imagine the training to dealership techs that will take years to fully implement. Mucho Trouble. They can’t even keep the navigation and Stinc-3 in my 2018 Ford/Lincoln product operating properly.. bueno suerte cabron-
This is a great looking SUV from Lincoln, but my issue is Lincoln's resale values drop off a cliff after a couple of years compared to its rivals which is weird, but true.
I LOVE this redesign! Not a big fan of the giant screen dash though. I also think it's a miss to not offer the 2.7L V6 anymore, unless the hybrid proves to be more swift than it's numbers suggest and can tow as much as the last gen 2.7.
To be a real near luxury player, Lincoln needs cars. Chasing profit will kill FoMoCo. Once the market trends change they'll be caught with no product offerings - again. Mark X concepts or a Taurus redux isn't going to save them.
Yo Soyfan...old boy is looking hella sketch sitting in the car in the dark. Btw this Nautilus looks like the previous one with a modified VW Arteon face...but that interior is bonkers..and the rest of the car reminds me of Audi,Lexus and Volvo!. But watch Lincoln do us like the Continental and get rid of the full dash screen, the crystal switchgear and everything else unique about this SuV
It's a shame it's a Ford. Back in the mid-90's, Fords became notoriously over-engineered. We're sworn off the brand because of our personal history with absolutely terrible mechanical issues that never seem to quite get resolved. Combined with real-world worst gas mileage, good luck. Our final Ford was a 2011 Ford Ranger. The only way we could drive it was if my husband sat on the floor on the passenger side with his finger on the fuel pump reset button. We dumped it two years later. And also, for a truck we bought new off the lot, the body rot was quite substantial I wish people who review cars would be honest about the line. They are designed to be very overpriced and disposable with a short life expectancy.
Yet, Ford still can't get doors aligned with the dash. A serious problem that lingered heavily through the last generation Explorer's life and it looks like Ford's bad habits are infectious enough to make its way into a preproduction/concept car that's supposed to be a game changer for Lincoln. Wasn't the Continental supposed to be a game changer? Wasn't the Aviator supposed to be a game changer? Are we really suppose to believe this is a game changer?
