Salut !
I just got the 2023 Roscoe 7 at a big box store sporting goods company here in the Midwest. I did get their credit card that added promotions, but out the door I paid $975. I think a lot of bigger companies are wanting to move their inventory to make room for 2024 stock. If people are looking now is the time.
Would like to see more discussions about geometry please. For instance they have not seriously updated their geometry of their XC bikes to make them more down country. I'm taking advantage of Kona's sale to get a Big Honzo DL in the mean time while I wait for my X-caliber 8 to run out of warranty before I mullet it.
I love my Trek Roscoe 7. I was thinking of upgrading my brakes to the Hope Tech 4. Perhaps even upgrading my handle bars as well... but the brakes being No. 1. Rest of the bike is great.
In terms of the color, do they do exclusive colors on different model year bikes or it is just new colors added? For example, if I want to get black, I can only get 2023 model, and 2024 model would not have that color option?
I'm not aware that I bought the 2024 Roscoe 7 Satin Black Olive. I just chose the colour that catches my attention on the Trek Australia website, I'm still waiting for the bike to be shipped to my local bike shop. I might gradually upgrade the components by starting with the cheap pedals, low riser bars and stems. 🤩
@SJC_Construct .So far so good, the only hassle is that the local Trek Shop here in Australia switched my brake levers to the Left Lever for the Rear Brakes. I nearly go over the bar on my first trail ride. I didn't notice the orientation at first but now I fixed it to the Right Lever for the rear brakes. For starters don't use the stocked pedals.
@@ulyssesmateo4245 Crazy mate, you think they’d know better! I upgraded to the Trek line elite pedals in Moss colour; really happy with them. Want to get the grips to match next. The saddle is uncomfortable as hell IMO. Happy riding 🤘🏼
@@SJC_Construct You need heaps of riding hours on the stocked saddle, it will soften in time. I got tyre inserts to run 22 psi on both wheels to soften my ride.
Unfortunately I don’t work there anymore since I was let go due to Trek firing a lot of their bike assemblers. I tried reaching out to management to keep the job but never received a response which sucked, but recently they reached out again. It was bad timing though since I got a new full time job unrelated to bicycles. I still love the Sacramento store and everyone who works there and go there every now and then!
ha ha, yeah pennyflake is awful - which is why no-one is stocking it here in Australia. In real life, that dark aquatic looks pretty bad as well though. Nothing like the photos. Way worse - looks really cheap with the gloss finish. These paint jobs are not great - c'mon Trek, entry level residential bikes have better paint jobs than these 2024 models. I guess we've gone from 1980s styling to 1990s semi-grunge styling (sort of)
@@Jon-zr3xq Did you see Pennyflake in person or just pics on the internet?!? In the sun, it has a lot of metallic flake, and looks like an orange with copper! It does pop for sure! It's something different than grays or silver.
