I'm happy that you finally explained why you got out of the WRX and bought the GTI it all makes sense now but after watching all of your videos I think the GTI is the overall better car.
Yes sir! I commented on your other video that I was shopping for either a new civic si or a GTI and I just placed my deposit today on a reflex silver and black 380 S. Super excited to go back and hit the paperwork next week and bring her home!
Same kind of thing happened to me but I had a sweet harley street glide all tricked out but some bad bad part flaws and it drove me nuts. So there is this vw dealer across the road from where I live and not planning to buy a gti I stopped and looked traded in my bike for a 24 gti 380 ab. Now I'm also impressed. I love just getting in driving. So much potential .
Haha that is a great story! It's very similar to how I got my first GOLF, I was helping my friend purchase a Mazda CX-5 at a Mazda dealership and when they were in finance I went across the street to a VW dealership and saw that they had a 2019 Golf R there and at the time I owned a 2019 Subaru WRX STI so I wasn't even expecting to like the VW I was just bored, but after driving it I had to get it lol it was literally one of the best cars I've ever owned.
I appreciate this video! You was just telling me about these cars and the fact that these cars is priced right that’s not over the time and not a huge markup these is starting to grow on me. All these features is crazy. Since you had it, is all the touchy technology is annoying as people thought or you it’s not a big deal?
Yeah man it's an amazing car to be honest and the infotainment setup is a lot easier to live with on the S model, I got used to it after about an hour or so.
You got me looking at that 24 GTI 380s, dealer finally offered 35k otd and I was tempted. Then I found out about the 23 arteon. Detuned golf r driveline 300hp, hatchback but DSG only. Now here's the kicker VW just dropped 5k incentive, and I just got a quote for 36.9 mark d down from 48k! Pretty tempting no manual but that dsg doin work 4.7 sec 0-60 !
I dunno man having the last year of the manual gearbox GTI feels really special to me, I get that the Arteon is faster and looks luxurious but I feel like I would get bored of it after a while whereas with the GTI the fun will only increase especially when it comes to modding it.
@@RaceCarFriends I hear you for sure! The arteon would be closer to 40 OTD, if I could get the dealer down to 32-33 OTD on the GTI that would seal the deal. Its been on their lot over 30 days so maybe theyll bite + july 4th sales.
Arteon 4,000 lbs mainstream family sedan vs GTI 3,100 lbs iconic hot hatch completely different cars & driving dynamics. GTI will lap Arteon at the track. For 0-60 best to go with Tesla.
I had the 2013 Gti loved it I got into an accident two weeks ago someone hit me from behind and totaled the car …I now just got the gli 40th anniversary edition yesterday coming on my birthday 7/18
I have a 2023 Golf GTI SE Manual and it’s one of the best vehicles that I have had! Previously had an Acura Integra A spec manual and it wasn’t efficient in being speed and got totaled. GTI IS WAYYY BETTER IN TERMS OF DRIVING DYNAMICS. I actually have good ambient lighting, the torque, a/c vents in the back, etc.
Once again we outside. I feel like the GTI is the sleeper of the crew. These cars are fast and mean looking. I cant wait to see you put your finishing touches on this vehicle. I cant believe you fit in there at 6'6 . WE OUTSIDE !!

Those 380’s look awesome! Now you’ve had both this and the 23 WRX, what are your thoughts between the two? I’m torn. Love the hatch and German style but awd on the WRX is very tempting.
To be honest it comes down to what matters to you the most, the WRX is a little bit more fun to drive and has a waaaay better sound system when you get it with the Harmon Kardon sound system, the WRX also has more passenger space, but the GTI is better if you're going to mod it and it's slightly more reliable and also better looking in my opinion.
