The 2025 Lincoln Navigator Gets Big Screens & A Trick Tailgate!

Lincoln is calling the 2025 Navigator "all-new" but it's honestly more of a through refresh, but that's not a bad thing. The frame and bulk of the suspension is the same, but 2025 brings a fresh new look to the exterior with the latest Lincoln grille, available 24-inch wheels, and a new tailgate/hatchback design to the rear. Similar to what we've seen in Range Rovers for a while, the Navigator's power hatch covers the top 80% of the cargo opening while a power tailgate covers the lower portion. This allows (naturally) for tailgate parties, but it also can act as a barrier to keep cargo from falling out. On the inside we see massaging second row seats (similar to what we've seen in other lux-SUVs lately) and the huge 48-inch screen array in the dash. Yep, it's basically the Nautilus' dashboard design scaled up to Navigator size.

I love that tailgate/hatch. I bought a 2007 Honda Element a few months ago specifically for that feature. Hopefully more vehicles will see this in the future so that when my Element has finished it's duty I can get a modern version of it.

Rightfully so! I'm glad Lincoln didn't bring that powertrain to the navigator. It's not the smoothest or the quietest. Also you have to think they did drop the hybrid powertrain from the aviator as well. I can guarantee you most people looking for a full size Luxury SUV are not looking for a hybrid powertrain. It literally be so pointless. More parts/battery for a couple more MPG is not worth it at all
@reduxith
@reduxith 26 дней назад
@@chudson4500 Though I'm not the biggest fan of the Ford Hybrid system in the Aviator, it was well more than a couple more MPG that you'd be receiving in it. When using the hybrid system the Aviator can get well over 50 mpg, I've seen certain forks get ~85 mpg. It is well worth it in the Aviator. The system would help a lot in large SUVs like this for day to day driving.

Absolutely gorgeous - really love how Lincoln’s aesthetic is focused on luxurious appointments starting with the Aviator at the pre-refresh model’s inception. The Escalade’s interiors are plain imo, lacking themes and a wide variety of colors; Lincoln has done quite well with that especially for Black Label variants making them look worth the price point versus Cadillac - Aviator, Nautilus, and Corsair included.

I wish I had made it a full hybrid. This would have handled two of my complaints. One would be, probably significantly better gas mileage in the city and the other would be closer to 500 horsepower. When you don't have an optional engine, you really need to get all you can out of it, especially if it's actually going to make it slightly more efficient. Even two to three more MPGs would have been great.

Yeah if I'm going to spend that money I'm going to get an Escalade. I kind of get the vision for what Lincoln is trying to do but having the full screen across the dash be controlled by that 90° angle screen flat across the dash seems very counterintuitive. Whereas the Escalade has a secondary screen that's tilted towards you for easy access and easy controls

The very flush center screen is like the screens on ATMs that you practically have to kneel to use, and translates horribly for driving. Everyone seems to love long, horizontal vents to minic overplayed full-width light bars, but vents should flank screens and allow then to be mounted higher and actually usable and in view.

@ShawnMKouri 26 дней назад
This is exactly what they did with the last Lincoln navigator, and the last Ford expedition whereby they unveiled it but then they had people wait all the way out into the following year, which was in fact the same year as the model year 2022. They had people waiting all the way until spring 2022 for the 2022 model, which Lincoln should either pushed the sale date up and keep the model year as a 2025 or keep the on sale date but the model year should have or is to go to 2026. This shouldn’t even be a 2025 for the on sale date, it has. So the Lincoln navigator should be called a 2026 Lincoln navigator
@chudson4500

That trend died after covid. It's not just Lincoln, but manufacturers across the board are no longer bringing out a model year vehicle before the year of. Thanks Alex as always! Looks good but doesn't look like enough was done to differentiate it from the prev gen. Also a huge miss if they are not doing Hybrid in this model..still...what are they waiting for. No skylight in the 3rd row is a miss. BMW X7 (if not mistaken) was the first three row SUV from BMW to do it and it makes a huge difference. The split trunk also was done my BMW in the X5 back in 1999 and has been the best feature ever and still remains the best forever. No air suspension either, unless I missed it in the video. All in all, a few missed opportunities for it to demand that price tag and that why Lincoln sales will remain low compared to its competitors...in my opinion.

Just my opinion… This gives off ‘92 Mercury Topaz vibes - just in a tall utility vehicle form. The light bar, the overall shape of the taillight assembly, and the way the profile screams “Ford” will ensure the Escalade continues to dominate. To me, this seems like what the Mercury version of an Expedition would look like (given that were ever a thing). Maybe I will need to see it in person to really understand it. On video, it does not have the presence a vehicle at this price point should have. The previous one looked richer (especially the interior). Again, these are just my opinions; I’m definitely not here to argue. Maybe it’ll do well for the audience it’s going for.

A refreshed Navigator but BlueCruise still slowly cruising behind Cadillac's system in every aspect. Lincoln has another vehicle with yet another wide screen that probably doesn't even get used by BlueCruise to it's full potential. Using the entire length of the wide screen to display color notifications to tell the driver what BlueCruise is doing is the largest missed opportunity in this Navigator. It just shows Lincoln and Ford are happy being 2nd place to Cadillac on the assisted driving side of things. Very disappointing.

Having spent about 4k miles driving a high trim late model Expedition, im not impressed at all with the engine calibration, the ridgidity of the structure, the unbelievably slow transmission or the never ending platic rattles. Since this is basicaly the same truck, its a hard pass for me.

Those dash screens are simply too far forward. They are reflecting what's around them and look washed out.
