Join Alex, Nick and Travis for in-depth looks at the latest cars, trucks, SUVs, and EVs on the market. In every video we cover all the things you should know if you're shopping for a new vehicle. From what it looks like to what you get on each trim, how much they will cost you and how they compare to the competition. Unlike other channels we don't waste time on antics, track day diaries, or sweeping vistas with loud music. Instead, we cover the nitty-gritty detail the other channels leave out!
Back in 2006, Alex was car shopping and decided he didn't like any of the online resources he found. Nobody was showing in detail what the interior looked like, nobody was giving direct comparisons to the segment best sellers, so he decided to do something about it and start Alex On Autos. In 2023 to reflect the other folks here that make our weekly production happen, Alex On Autos became Auto Buyers Guide.
I bought a gla 45 last year. Really wanted the Golf R . Dealer availability was a big factor in my decision as GLA's were sitting around while Golf R's were going out the door as fast as they arrived. Don't regret my decision but obviously paid a lot more but got a nicer interior, more space and a better user interface. Still think the Golf R looks better.
It's so weird what comes standard on some vehicles and not others. I have a base model 2020 Outlander and I get to say I have something (heated seats) that a Mercedes doesn't? Neat.
Bought a GLA45 in 2016 new. That was probably the funnest daily commuter I ever had. If it wasn’t for the sh*t dealer I would still be driving MB vehicles. Dumped it at 50k miles due to how they ran the service department.
I have rewatched this video so many times. I think it's a good thing because I start to grasp what you re saying more and more each time. The more I think about it, the more impressed I am with how Honda is approaching the hybrid powertrain. By definition, Honda hybirds are "Extended Range Electric Vehicles", but shit, it may as well be, assuming go all-in providing a proper battery and powerful drive motor.
I currently bought a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid limited I am getting about 49 MPG around and about or city driving Highway I get much better mileage which is about 53 MPG. I use my cruise control more on the highway.Exception of country county roads in New Jersey.I am planning on visiting the Cape May, NJ Since I did serve there in my Navy Reserves back in 1992 to 1994.
Why are you on this hatchback mission? I own the EQA version and it’s plenty big for 4 people and some luggage. I got it for $52k which was less than a Tesla Y at the time and has awd. Totally love it and only one minor reliability issue was repaired. But I’ve owned hatchbacks going back to the Mercur xr4Ti and a Plymouth Horizon. Those were hatchbacks. It’s same size as many other subcompact SUVs I’ve shopped so maybe recategorize all them too. I cross shopped against the X1 but wasn’t electrified then. Who looking at a GLA is going to consider a VW golf??
Own 2023 Kia Forte paid 26000 out the door in April 4/2023 got 14000 miles on it getting 46 mpg driving normally happy Toyota had three thousand mark up back in April 2023 I shopped kIA did me better than Toyota an Mazda
It's the biggest piece of junk, shit ,garbage I ever drove. Look up consumer reports on how many people have filled complaints on it ,,poor quality is an understatement
13hp electric motor. What a joke. Why does it exist? Planned obsolescence and failure out of warranty. Profit for MB. A 13hp motor with its companion battery, motor inverter and computers to allow it to work with the gas engine is a boat anchor for profit. Be a sucker and own one out of warranty with all its other needless farkles that will fail.
As a 6 foot tall GLB owner, I am glad Alex mentioned some of the grievances of the front door pillars. Apart from your arms not having a perfect place to rest, you can have issues in intersections when you look to your left or right, because the pillar blocks some of the view which causes me to lean forward at times in order to get a better view before making a turn. I also find the seats to be extremely hard for a luxury vehicle, which is the main reason I also bought RAM Rebel this year (me and my family needed more comfort on longer trips).
When u are listening to the vague critics is just useless. Just feel the car cuz car reviewers are just blinded. What is practical for u guys? Its not the same for someone else or me.
This review overlooks how the vehicle performs when you only use it for short stints. As remote workers we only need it for very short trips. We truly get 250 MPG because we rarely dip into combustion engine mode. This review skews to true hybrid modes, which we rarely reach.
Never with the small 4-cylinder turbo, turbo says the engine is way too small. We have a 2017 GMC Acadia with a 3.6 V6 and get as much as 34MPG on the highway.
literally the best looking EV truck. Possibly the best out. the range is incredible too, as proven by JerryRigEverything, it ACTUALLY gets 450+ miles of non towing range. INCREDIBLE.
Awesome review again. Manufacturers make vehicles to make money except Mr Honda that made motorcycles 🏍, then pickup, then cars as a passion to be shared. Some make for as many people as possible and what is good to Some is not so good for those who compare. Some make for certain customers as target and not concerned with volume as much and therefore more money spent to look good and other appeal to target. I love and appreciate them all, and buy based on what appeal to me for what I need and want.
