Things are different now the law should be abolished I don't think it should have been created in the first place I'm surprised that one of my favorite car brands (Mercedes-Benz) got the government to make that law all of those old cars would definitely help the used car market.
I have a feeling they had their hand in this because they wanted to manufacture the cars in America and sell them as cheap as possible. I'm wondering how that turned out I don't see many Mercedes anymore, or none at first anyways.
@@REAL-UNKNOWN-SHINOBI no it was made because Americans where buying cars straight from Germany due to European models being better than the American counterparts so dealerships lobbied to ban importing
call your congressmen, Senators and State council, and call them out the politicians even have public contact information. Make a phone call. Find the people doing it and vote them out. FIGHT
This already happened. Hell this stupid pathetic law didn't even stop companies from going bankrupt in 2009. Here's a list of all the car companies that declared bankruptcy in 2009... GM with... Buick. Cadillac. Chevrolet. GMC. The Ford motor company with... Ford. Lincoln. And that one company that nobody can pronounce the name for... Which used to go by the name of Chrysler corporation which used to be a 100% American car company then was bought by Fiat, which turned into Chrysler Fiat, which Fiat was not an American car company whatsoever. Chrysler. Dodge. Jeep. Ram. All the big three and sub-brands had one thing in common... Every single one of them declared bankruptcy. Got bought out. And or is now owned and operated by a foreign company. Except for The Ford motor company and GM Same thing happened in the British car market. Look at BMW they used to be a very British car company and then they were bought by some company in Germany and now BMW is considered a German car brand. Look all I'm saying is that... You better check whatever car market you're in you better cherish your car market like a parent would do to a child. Because you never know if a foreign company is just going to buy out your damn car market. Cuz the moment your car market starts being bought up by foreign automakers you no longer have cars in that market that's local. Also the car manufacturers still went bankrupt because they were not competitive at all and got bought out the same way.
Who the hell is buying a Mercedes in the first damn place? The cars are expensive and the repair bill is expensive. The only reason you're able to buy a Mercedes is because your bank or your loan office is stupid enough to give you a freaking loan for one.
No, but you have to build it to European standard, if it's possible, like replacement of the headlights with the orange reflector to some with white ones, and replacement of the cluster in the dashboard (mph to kmh)
Yeoube All you really have to do is look up articles about the 25 year rule on imported cars and the Imported Vehicle Safety Compliance act of 1988, that’s mainly what got me to my sources
The short answer is no, unless like it says in the video, the car qualifies for the "show and display" rule. In other words, if it isn't a rare/limited edition, you need to wait 25 years from the date it was manufactured. For a 2015 model, that would be 2040. 🚘
