Correct there were definitely some older for sure what he meant by that was as far as Chevrolet go. The crew (4 door) configuration was used for actually carrying a crew. That’s one of the reasons the name came about
i love that truck . love the red with chrome trim . i just got a crewcab c30 dually as a parts truck for my 86 k20 getting rebuilt at the moment . i paid 500$ for the crewcab just for the front radiator grill support 🤣🤣. one day though the crewcab will be built . but im going with apple red exterior on my k20 and dark charcoal interior .

Because that's the 1st time I heard it when Thelma Harper ( Mama's Family) went for drivers license and the instructor asked her , " What's that " ? ( pointing to the PRNDL between the speedometer & steering column). She said , " It's the prendle ".
The 1/2 ton trucks were the newer body style, you could get a heavy duty truck in the square body until the very early 90s. I believe the last square body you could get was a blazer in ‘91
