Funfact: The first Mobile version of the game actually used 3D models from Sonic Rush on the Nintendo DS and the enemies were ultra low-poly. It's very interesting to know that they changed this over time and now the Mobile version has the best 3D models.
another thing to point out is that the mobile version is actually better than the PC/console versions, sonic's colours doesnt look like a bright sapphire rat and the physics are (a bit) more faithful to sonic's first few outings. (sonic can still stand on walls but not as much as the PC/console versions.)
The audio quality of the sound effects (Rings, springs, checkpoints, bumpers, and spin kills) on the mobile version sounds like the game's being played on an AtGames
Sonic 4 was supposed to be a mobile exclusive, so it looks better on its native hardware. As for the wii, this is the one instance where its lack of power helps in its favour. Since there's not as much pixels that have to be filled (since Wii is only a 480p system), tha fact that it's a quick mobile port isn't as noticeable. It's more noticeable on PS3 and XBOX360 since it has to run on 1080p even though its a quick port of a Mobile game. Which, at the time, phones weren't NEARLY as powerful.
Not so Fun Fact: The sounds from episode 1 mobile were removed. Looks like the sounds were stored on a server dedicated for storing the game sounds for the mobile version and it went down. I hope they update the game soon..
The PS3 version has the best graphics, I thought the Wii version was the best but when I saw the PS3 version I screamed: HOLY KINOS THIS RETRO IS QUAGGLEDOTTING THE GRAFICS SO HARD I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE
To be fair, Wii and Xbox 360 are better look at the difference in the title screen, they both have the same animation from Sonic 1. The mobile version doesn’t. So i’m not trying to be mean to every sonic four episode one mobile liker
The only good thing about the mobile version is the high quality Sonic model. But unfortunately the frame rate is pretty weak compared to the other versions.
All the sound effects are lower pitch than their console counterparts. The special stages are tilt only, but Casino Street 2 and Lost Labyrinth 2 is different and unique.
