It’s amazing when there is tech like Hackmotion that some people can’t “see” the lead wrist going from flexion to extension through impact. You show it very well.

Another stellar video Steve. What I like about how you teach is that you are comprehensive. Many other's present isolated tips which don't really help, at least not for long. My swing is a work in progress but at least I'm confident in the information that I'm getting and that makes a big difference in confidence on the course. Thanks so much!

Is this why when they have you turn your iron upside down and swing they say the "woosh" sound should be heard on the left side for a right-handed player? Is that just to get the timing down?

Hi Steve first time I watched your videos you advocate on the backswing you move your hips laterally up to 6 inches transfer your way also moving your right hip back and most of the videos I saw not recommend any lateral move hips on the backswing only rotation of the right hip back I understand that you state that full extension of the right hand and a blower cupping of the left wrist that's bow contributes to power but if I do that I have the problem of flipping before impact or snap looking the ball if I'm too early also your advocating that I rotate that right arm from the slot to get more power but most of the videos state you should be leading with the left side kindly advise thanks for your help Jack
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 Год назад
That wrist move does not close the club face, so your hooking is not from that action.
@iancross8996
@iancross8996 2 года назад
Hi steve, great videos by the way. Could you do a video on proper right arm wrist movement back and through please. I ask because as you say, the right wrist goes into flexion on the way back, then extension on the way though, but when you look closely, rarely does anyone have a right wrist in extension in the release, it always looks flat, and slightly rolled. It's a little confusing, to extend the wrist in the release really would look like you're trying to scoop the ball up into the air. It looks almost like the extension stops at flat, then you're arm rolls up to the finish.
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 2 года назад
The right wrist cannot fully flex as the club and left wrist restrict it...but it still goes slightly into palmar flexion, or flaps.

Hi Steve I am in my 50s and I was a 12 hcp player who used to flap through the ball and hook ,after watching many of you're videos I realised it wasn't the flapping that was making me hook, it was actually my turn and pivot after implementing your thoughts into my game I have increased my drives by 30 metres and my hcp is now 2 .I enjoy your videos and appreciate the quality advice that you are giving next objective is breaking par .😁

Steve, I’m trying to follow only one teacher’s system, you. Could you do some instruction on ball position vs club? Seems to be two philosophies….. Same stance and adjust ball position Vs Change stance and keep same ball position (Hogan)

I believe there is a video or two covering that on the channel.

The most efficient way, to get into the slot, is to work down the right leg at transition. This pushes the left side out, ie Sam Snead squat!!!!
@hbyrdut
@hbyrdut 2 года назад
When you show the shallowing move without hitting a ball the club face looks wide open but in the slow mo of your real swing the face looks square. Does the momentum of the swing square the face or are you consciously doing something to close it?

Steve when I work on this I tend to see some hooks pop up. Is this due to not rotating hard enough left with the body?

Appreciate your very technical explanation of the golf swing but way to technical for me. IMHO you cannot possibly be thinking about all you have explained here and be a consistent ball striker. Most of this has to happen automatically or should I say subconsciously. Those born with great hand eye coordination are who you see excelling in all professional sports. They may refine their abilities somewhat throughout their careers but they have great athletic ability to begin with. Individualism is such a big part of any sport in getting the job done. I look at the Jon Rahms, Tony Finau's, Ernie Ell's or Jim Furyk's of the golf world, they are all great yet eons apart in how they deliver the club to the ball. As far as wrist's in the swing, you may want to watch Steve Stricker. Thanks for the content...
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 2 года назад
How do you suppose those great golfers made all this automatic? They had to focus on one or two of these aspects and beat balls for a few years. Hand/eye coordination does not equal swing mechanics.
@rayray8212
@rayray8212 2 года назад
@@Inmotion70 don't totally agree, Steve. Hand eye is definitely a factor in all sports. Many have had great instruction and beat ball for many years and still never get below a legitimate 10 hdcp. If great instruction and beating balls made a great golfer there would be many more great golfers. How do you explain the 4-5-6 year old proteges who play musical instruments like a seasoned professional or a child who swings a golf club like they were born with it? Yes, because basically they were born with it.
