Loved the conversation about the watches. I just wished that the watches were placed on the table that is in front of the hosts so that viewers can see the watches and the hosts expressions.
The Reverso is stunning and the IWC is a classic. The BB58 is not my thing at all. I just can't see past the faux patina. Why would anyone want something that's made to look old. To be honest I'm not a dive watch fan anyway.
Attention to detail by the lady she remembered that he liked a certain watch from three years previous and then picked the size that would suit him, Ali is good
Put out more content like this because it shows that this company is more than just a business that's selling watches. Videos like these really show how behind the business are a bunch of watch enthusiasts who are passionate about watches which makes the company more relatable. Also I recently purchased a midsized black dial omega seamaster 300 co axial and am in love with it you guys have a fantastic assortment of watches to choose from aswell.
IMO, you need a blue face, black face, white face. One dress, one sport/diver, one casual. Available leather straps and bracelets for all three. But who among us could only have three?
Crown & Caliber That all comes down to budget. Personally, given no budget restraints I would have a simple three hand, a chronograph and something with more grand complications, like a perpetual calendar or split seconds or something. But the jump from three hand mechanical watches to mechanical chronographs is cost-prohibitive enough for some, myself included. But first and foremost in my opinion is having watches you love to look at and that go well with a variety of outfits. I think we often focus too much on the watch itself and too little on how or when to wear them.
I could tell Ali is disappointed in his selection for her. Tbh ladies have very different tastes to men. I would have picked a FP Journe Elegante, 40mm with diamond face on a brown strap, a Cartier Gold Basculante with alligator red strap and a Rolex Meteorite diamond dial on midsize platinum case with jubilee strap. So she will have a very versatile collection covering sporty, formal and informal occasions with a very different style and feel with each of the watches.
Fun video. Winner this round: Alli. A solid 3-watch collection (IMHO) should include a dress watch, a tool/sports watch for knock-around weekends and a somewhere-in-between causal piece for weekdays at the office. Alli hit all 3 by giving you the dress watch (JLC), a tool/sports watch (Speedy) and a vintage (albeit still tool/sports) piece that can be worn around the office in a less knock-around environment. She nailed it and did so with (in her words) story and style. Though one was gold, you gave her 3 tool/sports watches. If we accept that the weekender is the Tudor and the IWC is the office watch due to its flashier bracelet, she still needed a dress watch. If she's really extra (read: well put-together), the Cartier Tank Solo XL W5200028 Unisex Watch you have in stock could go a long way. Just my 2¢. Really fun video, though. Thanks for making it. C&C seems like a collegial place to work.
8:15 I've always said this! A vintage Tudor with Rolex parts it's just such a conversation starter. It's a time travel to a key moment in their history.
Most women “into” watches, at least the ones I know so I could definitely be being biased right now just own a single cartier or multiple. I mean it’s the single watch company worn by the biggest woman pioneers in most fields, even royalty.
zB Matt I may be wrong but for my experience the equal to that is that most men who like watches have a Rolex or maybe a tag. There’s a big difference between people “into watches” and proper watch geeks (like me 😂)- there are far fewer women watch geeks at getogethers and watch events but the ones that are there have similar taste to the males. I also think that the longer you are in watches as a hobby the more you work your way through loads of different watches! I’ve had a Rolex phase, a Rolex are overpriced but Seiko are amazing phase, a obscure brands phase and a quality movements phase... I’m basically looking to justify new watches via a phase every year 😂😂
1)Omega Seamaster aqua-terra blue on blue Chronometer Chronograph GMT 150m 43mm caliber 9605. 2)Hamilton Khaki Field 42mm white/silver chronograph valjoux 7750. 3)Steinhart ETA HULK 42mm.
Just realized something. There are not many women who review watches on RU-vid. Great to see someone who loves watches and is very expressive about it.
The Reverso Duoface is awesome. But this is a timepiece, that a potential buyer has to try on. I have a Duoface from 2018 with a folding clasp and it has a bigger presence on my wrist than I have anticipated. But still, I love it very much.
Alli smashed it. Although, personally I would have gone Rolex GMTc instead of the Tudor Sub seeing as the JLC covers the classic/vintage. For her, a Cartier, maybe the new Cartier Santos Medium and perhaps an Omega constellation or Rolex 34mm with a MOP dial with diamond indicies? Also, Explorer 1 36mm or 1016 would be cool
If Tudor where to reproduce those Sub’s again, ....nobody would ever buy another New Rolex Sub.....especially those with the Maxi Case. Oh.....wait I forgot, you can’t buy the new sub’s.....damage done! Next.....🥴
Why did you choose men’s watches for her? All those watches were way too large on her wrist. There are watches for women as well. Women wearing men’s watches is wrong, looks wrong.
3 points: 1) This type of content is great, 2) Alli did a GREAT job, 3) Nathan doesn't quite understand what "Extra" is and isn't... Pageant moms are "Extra", Alli doesn't strike me as having anywhere near that demeanor...
Gee Alli picked out some awesome watches. She has a huge talent for this and should consult clients. I wish she could advise me. But Nathan's choices are frankly not that great but she was kind enough to forgive him.
It’s hilarious because every watch she picked for him worked well with his current outfit too. It’s like she knows what he’s going to wear before he wears it 👀
I've a Oris Divers 65 and a Tag Heuer Monaco, what watch am I missing to complete the holy trinity? Sometimes I think Speedmaster but the Monaco is a Chrono, sometimes I think Planet ocean but the Oris is a diver. Genuinely love some suggestions, skip dress watches though as they're not me.
Alli’s choices are really thoughtful and freakishly close to mine. There was a phase where I was pining for a panda dial speedy as well as a reverso. There is no shame in having a speedy and reverso in a collection. I would probably gone for a Rolex GMT to round it off but Tudor sub not s bad choice
I think i just don’t like them having the bad vibe about the watches from the get go, this was supposed to fun and they ended up defending their choices and making backhanded compliments about the watches they received... does anyone fun work for this company ?
I want to see more content like this. Making the effort of reducing a watch collection helps you identify what you "really need" in a watch. By the way, I love the thought process of Alli. Incredible watch collection, made me re-question my whole collection for a few minutes...
I must I really like that Tudor Submariner. I have one question, since it is vintage, should it have a Tudor crown or does it have the period correct crown on it?
@@CrownandCaliber oh. My bad. The way some words are interchanged these days to mean the opposite of what they are can be confusing. Like "sick" (and some others). I must be getting old : ( Thanks for clarifying.
She picked out a great collection.. i already have a speedy. Trying to get. A kermit submariner next. And then moving on to ANYTHING A Lange & Sohne or F.P. Journe. I could die happy then.
Well I don't think the choices worked out for the best for either of you but it was an interesting video nonetheless! Would love to see more of these hypothetical watch collection videos.
Even tho I only agreed with 2 of the 6 watches, this video was still very fun and entertaining. So I think that says a lot about this video. As others have said, would love to see more of this!
I was inspired by your video to go out and obtain a Vintage Tudor Submariner Reference 7928. It's been sitting a long time. Would you kindly tell me how to set the time and wind the watch? I'm just a very careful person who paid dearly for the watch and prefer to hear instructions from pros like you.
Congrats on your awesome purchase Stuart! We would recommend unscrewing the crown and giving the watch 40--50 clockwise winds to get the mainspring (gas tank) fully wound. The go ahead and pull the crown out to set the time. After that you can screw the crown back in and you're good to go. If the watch has been sitting for a while it may need to be serviced. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
Crown & Caliber that’s a tough choice. I will have to make a video on this myself. Think it would be dress, everyday and flashy, but it I’ll have to think about the exact models!
