Just so everyone knows, There's a plastic seal on the antenna crown. If that's broken Breitling will void the warranty and likely bill you for a replacement antenna. so no touching the forbidden screwcap.
I have the modern meteorite version with the blue face. In other videos, everyone dumps on it but I love it. Hear that it’s very popular in Asia, just not here.
"Now you've impressed all your friends by calculating the tip with your watch" Everyone knows that your friends would laugh at you, call you a nerd and calculate the tip on their phones.
I grew up with mechanical watches when you had to spend big bucks for an accurate reliable watch.. When quartz came out, the world changed.. anyone could afford one. That is a game changer. I have some mechanicals (love skeleton watches), but on the pragmatic daily beater side, I have several G Shocks and a Garmin Fenix.
I sold my speedy recently to replace it with a Breitling navitimer and I couldn't be happier. The Navitimer oozes with history and looks. In my eyes it only has 39 m water resistance which is a non issue for a pilots watch. I w wouldn't take a Corvette to a dirt track so why put a navitimer in the water or that even a speedy. Just saying😊
Ok my dumbass just figured out the gmt hand moves half as fast as the actual hour hand. The reference hand follows the bezel and the local hand goes by the 12 hour clock. I felt like such an idiot for not picking it up earlier
Can I say something. I got the watch. I like the watch. It serves its purpose. But Rolex is fucking stupid. So many better world time watches the breitling navtimer the seiko astron the omega speed master moon phase that just make it easy. A Rolex is a Rolex they last forever they are beautiful but for $10k they need to do better
I love my 1861 Speedy but my favourite is a vintage 1960's Seamaster Chronostop with the Regatta dial. So much character and it still looks and performs amazing. I have it on a distressed brown leather strap and it always looks good on.
Is there an earlier version of this concept? I had a cheap self winding watch in the 80's that sounded like it had a little BB inside. Just shake it up for a few minutes if it had been idle for a time and it would start right back up
C.O.S.C ? what a joke. They certify a watch to not keep accurate time. Just like the F.D.A. oh yeah, they'll approve your product, depending on how much you pay them. Total B.S. wake up morons. There's no way to justify a Rolex costing 20,000 dollars. You're paying for the name and prestige, that's all.
*Bought one today, my first ever Rolex, first ever luxury watch to be honest... I have a collection of 16 very amateur watches that all 'look the part' but don't have the status of Rolex.* *I bought it because 10 years ago (this December), my girlfriend died (we were both 13 years old) and I developed an addiction to cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine and amphetamines. I've rotted away in withdrawal, I've stolen, I've attacked innocent people, attempted particularly harmful things, became homeless, committed every crime you could possibly think of, on top of amassing £14,000 worth of debt by age 15, entirely on drugs and paraphernalia.* *Now, after a decade of sobriety, after my very bad break-up 2 years ago, I found God, started going to the gym, started reselling make-up products, founded my first business, sold my first business, bought my first house, and now, can buy myself a Rolex. If they ever do invent the Time Machine, I just want to show my former self that things do change, and to stick with it and not try anything stupid. I thank God entirely for the second chance he gave me, and I'll never take a thing for granted.*
