Gen 9, lots of mistakes were made, lol. That’s what makes watching the replays fun. The more learning opportunities the better one becomes. This was still a highly competitive, well played game. The closest we can come to an actual engine that can play with 100% accuracy like on chess is probably Anthracite himself, so getting close to that degree of accuracy is always an impressive feat in it’s own right.
Mei’s mostly. The mistakes you make are mostly mentioned. There were some alternative lines, it we’d need anthracite to even try to figure out if any of those could be inaccurate. The things I know are inaccuracies or mistakes I made sure to cover, but these are the obvious things. Mei’s inaccuracies or errors I didn’t discuss, because aside from misplaying insulation I don’t have his viewpoint/perspective, so I can’t be sure of where else he missed something. I’d have taken loan over probe too in that draft in his spot, but without seeing his hand I cant really speak to his with any real precision.
@@jeffreyculbert2093 Yea true, hard to say what happened over there. But I mean Der_Maister was co-piloting M3i so he was probably lost before the game started... In any case 30 min. games mistakes are bound to happen ^^
You should skip the heat event here in the opener for sure like Ghaleon says. You’ll already be at 8 heat and sabo is hugely impactful to hamper an opponent when playing a rush. Oh no… forgot the to ocean, lmao. DAMN I WISH I HADN’T MISSED THIS LIVE!!! I’d have burst a lung laughing and just having the best time, I already know.
yea I was both laughing it off and feeling a tiny bit ashamed at the same time ^^ Worst part is I misplayed cuz I wanted to reveal my dumb "it's getting hot in there"-hoodie" and in the end you can't even see I'm wearing that on the webcam xD Btw imagine how easy this game would have been if I had played Sabotage gen one. Actually I just wanted to give M3i a fighting chance so selling Sabo to ensure a closer game making for better content is what I thought...
@@jeffreyculbert2093 yep for sure ^^ but to be fair, later on he had several chances to win and missed them. Maybe he was also distracted by a wardrobe malfunction...
Yea these 4 "training with legends"-games all include some incredible strong former/current top 10 players which made it extra enjoyable learning from these masters. Some incredible strong players and also Der_Maister...
Gen 6 draft, herbis instantly, you’ve got Viral Enhancers and plant prod with Adaptive developed. There’s no thinking about it. (This from a repeat Herbis foul offender in myself).
Gen 7 yea I agree Herbs is good. Loan also great but Herbivores slightly better due to the reason you mentioned and excentric and maybe also cultivator and so on. But doesn't matter cuz M3i was kind enoguh to give me loan anyway which I feel like was a mistake on his part btw ^^ I belive he took Lagrange instaed of Loan as he needed titanium dumps bit still seems to me Loan would've been slightly better for him especially considering he would've denied me Loan also.
Gen 5, you should absolutely have played local heat trapping to convert this gen. There isn’t that good a reason to wait on it, it’s for certain making you 4 credits back regaining its initial investment value by converting for TR, you miss out on media group action which would only do the same thing, it scores next to your city, and the heat rebate gets you your next bump back as well. I have no idea what Ghaleon and Highlander said to wait for, that’s just an inaccuracy. It’s absolutely correct to play and convert there. It also better plays around virus/Gia/diemos/Big Asteroid the following gen by leaving minimum plants to hit when it’s known that the free ocean bump will be contested (which is why having 2 heat bumps that gen could be important) when you have AI and want to spend your first action on drawing for information. Going to have to dock both of your copilots some credential credits for that sadly.
Okay yea now your other comment makes sense. I was confused cuz you said gen 5, but it's gen 6. Yea I was about to write in the other comment that I like LHT convert. A bit safer. But like I mentioned, he started the gen so he could've burned already + my excentric was in danger. But yea I'm leaning towards your idea of LHT convert is slightly stronger. And yea btw I agree, these two copilots are trash obviously, I should unfriend them immidiately xD
Lmao, it’s hard to copilot. Neither of them would make that mistake solo, but when you’re focused on coaching and calculating and commenting all at once something’s always gonna get past ya.
@@jeffreyculbert2093 yy for sure ^^ easier to grasp the game when you are the one clicking. But actually it was also really hard for me to play this game with only 30 min with these smart but talkative guys coaching me ^^
I usually have to mute or ignore discord when playing 30 minute games. As many benefits as there are to copiloted games there are drawbacks as well, and one of them is wasting time while listening to any sort of discussion. Most of the time folks will tend to do 45 minutes if we want to be real interactive while streaming for a crowd. It’s not needed, but it can help to take a little pressure off so more effort can be put into the entertainment value of the content.
@@jeffreyculbert2093 Yea exactly, these people are really passionate about the game so they talk a lot, but like, in a good way. It's awesome, but still. Takes time xD I also prefer 45 min. games, but this one just happened to be 30 cuz M3i didn't have a lot of time that day. But like you said, even though it was stressful to play it's fun to watch afterwards. People being stressed and shouting out plays and "fastfastfast" in the last few generations is a joy to watch xD
Gen 6 sequencing, had to pause, I just talked about playing around deimos and Gia, and you went AI first when you have Viral and must convert to protect your plants as any asteroid event is the greatest danger to your win. Co pilots are gonna get you in trouble against a top 5 player missing basic stuff they usually see solo. Harrumph!!!
yea you mean convert using LHT? If so, I think the argument to hold on to is in case he tries to flip Excentric. In any case he started gen 6 so he could've started the gen burning my plants if he wanted to ^^
I thought I saw 7 plants when I watched the start of gen 6 so Viral would work too in that case. Either way protecting those plants was the thing to be done in that spot. Starting in gen 7 is probably when to think about delaying any more conversions since the heat will be maxed or near maxed and asteroids become less of a threat and delaying post gen 7 conversions might get you to a gen 10.
Should have had the rebate money plus some sells to fit in both, but I can’t remember the exact math at that point without watching it again. If both can fit in then both is good. If only one then you’d hedge toward farming and be happier to play Large Convoy for the final ocean.
No kidding this corpo strong hold was not good Ghaleon, lol. I’m still scratching my head over that choice, haven’t seen Imm city, noctis, or open city yet, nor outpost, with AI. I would never have bought that city card back in that draft. Cities r 4 suckers.
Yea I think we all realized after the fact that this was a mistake xD But in his defence, if none of the other cities had shown up corpo would've been decent. But probably not a keep no ^^
Idk keeping special designs with no targets in hand to combo it with and no media group, Olympus Conference etc always feels pretty weak to me ^^ So here I wouldn't keep it. Other times it's great ofc. Had a game today with special design + kelp farming. Yumyumyum tasty.
It’s a spec keep that I wasn’t very high on 4 and 5 years back but I’ve come around on this card on more recent years as being one of the better spec keeps early in games, particularly if your opponent doesn’t know about it, since it can really help to win a draft with a powerful card “locked” by parameters as a surprise. I’ve won more than a handful of games by this point speculating on it without an initial target. I’ve also lost some games due to it being an over purchase… so yeah, there’s some risk to consider for sure but I’ve been a fan of this type of line a bit more often than a detractor.
If ever you feel like joining in, you are most welcome. The nerds are playing there daily and in a month of two when I get back from Japan, I plan on joining in myself some more.
Sadly too busy with work stuff. Trying to figure out how to build my own app to do all the gig app things I already do and stop working for organized crime syndicates like DoorDash and Uber.
@@jeffreyculbert2093 kewl best of luck. It worked well for Jerry and the "do you want to develope an app"-alien from Rick and Morty. If they can do it, you should have good chances!
@@jeffreyculbert2093 Yea getting my plants burned and loosing the Ocean Bonus didn't feel good but it was all for a the greater good I was told. (This was a confusing time for me)
