I remember watching the live rescue operation of the miners back in 2010. I literally cried when the first one came out from tube. The others who came out were even excited they gave the Chilean President rocks as 'souvenirs' from underground. All of them were truly remarkable and their faith with God was strong. #LosMinerosDeChile
Me too.. and the childrens soccer (football) team caught underground... bith of the operations were miraculous and gut wrenching! Tears the whole way! Humanity shows its best colours during crisis.❤
zombiekillah1223 Yeah but why make it english with a spanish accent? why not just plain english? even the girl in the news (who is from real chilean TV news) is fucking dubbed to english with that fucking accent. and then you have Don Francisco... and for some reason he IS speaking in spanish.
r Because having them keep their accent gives more immersion to the story. They could talk in English with Christopher Walken accents but you probably wouldn't really be as invested in the story would you?
It's a superb movie about compassion and the indestructible human spirit. Great story, no violence, great acting and great ending. Banderas is as always excellent and command the movie. Viva Chile.
Hannah Ballard because you have compassion for your fellow humans,I couldn't help but notice men came to the rescue of the miners, God? crickets chirp.
Same situation has currently happened in India at uttrakashi tunnel where 41 people have been trapped 😢 ... I remembered this movie which is what exactly happening in India right now i hope they all survive And get out of the tunnel alive... God bless them all ❤
I remember that day, I was watching it all day on the tv and I skipped school for it and then when they finally got the first guy out I started crying. No I didn't know the guy I didn't know any, but I was so happy they saved them. Watching this trailer reminded me of it and I started to cry when the song came on.
Bruno Fenix Chile does have several actors, even internationally recognized (Pedro Pascal, Leonor Varela, Jose Garcia, Cristian de la Fuente, Maestro Jodorowsky!, etc). I invite you to research before stating something so low in knowledge. Also in this movie there is a Chilean actor (Cote de Pablo). However, I dont think it doesn matters which nationality are the actors in this movie, that is not essential for making a movie.
One of the best films I've seen in a while! really felt immersed with the miners throughout and really touching to think what these guys and their families went through. Glad to see their all brothers for life
This made me tear up, so epical it is the struggle for existence and the instinct to care for one another. The beauty of this comes not from the actors, the movie, or the struggle; instead the beauty is in hope and the empathy for families torn apart. Love is a powerful instinct, strange to think that it was once just a habit, handed down generation after generation from those who first felt the soft touch, like wind in the air.
As a chilean i find the fact that this is a movie touching. I remember. I was around four years old. When we got home i wanted to watch playhouse disney and i turned on the TV. The news were on every channel "THIRTY THREE MINERS, SAFE BROUGHT UP TO THE SURFACE!" My mom rushed upstairs and we went out to the streets and everyone hugged and we all cried. We celebrated until we couldn't anymore and the whole street was filled with the chanting of the national anthem "Puro chile es tu cielo azulado Puras brisas te cruzan también Y tús campo de flores bordados Son la copia feliz del Eden Majestuosa es la blanca montaña Que te dio por valuarte el señor Que te dio por valuarte el señor Y ese mar que tranquilo te baña Te prometo futuro esplendor Y ese mar que tranquilo te baña te prometo futuro esplendor" (only a part)
i cried so bad in the cinema, but at the same time it's happy tears to see the drill finally reach them! God bless these men, and thanks for telling the story, good job!
+Juggly Nam Maybe because it's based on true story, and every thing already happened. However the interesting this will be about their epic quest to survive.
I have been waiting for this movie to come out for awhile now. I give it five stars. I cried and thanked God for something that I did not even experience. Thank you for sharing this nightmare of an experience with the world. God Bless you all.
What's with all the people complaining they show the ending on the trailer?! Well guess what, it's a real life story and everyone knows how it (thankfully) ended.
The Company never compensated them. The Greek Government gave them all a free week all expense paid trip to Greece and a Japanese Company gave them all free sushi for a year.
What a fabulous movie!!! It will haunt me and continue to touch my heart forever. Stellar acting , incredible emotion from the actors. 5 stars! I'm hoping that Chile improves on conditions of these mines after this tragedy.
I see a lot of people complaining about the language used for the movie. This movie is released for the American audience. They used the english language so that the general American audience can understand, not just the spanish speaking ones. BUT, I do have common sense, and I know that in reality, those people spoke in spanish or whatever foreign language they speak in Chile. This is not an independent film.
+borysco Sabía que había una diferencia entre el español de España y el de Chile, ¡pero no tanta!;) Por cierto , la película pinta bien y por ahora Chile no parece Mexico II.
I watched the movie with my boyfriend today, it was so beautiful and touching, I lost count of how many times I cried throughout the film. I cant wait for the DVD release.
hey i m from nepal just going through the aftermath effect of devastating equack...and i know how it feels to be the victim of nature...this movie will definately make any one cry...nice job bandaras...long time no see....
the frames at 1:01 straight up broke my heart. I remember this story back in 2010 and actually followed it. But damn that one frame of that man scared and trapped under rubble was hard to look at
I was 3 when this happened, but I still remember my mom and dad watching the news everyday, wondering if they were even alive. I remember the joy of the last man coming out, I still remember when the tube lifted with the last man, god bless them all
This is gonna be a great movie ! I can still remember the day I saw the headlines on tv saying that there were men trapped in a mine in chile. It made me emotional just watching this trailer .
I still remember that day. Like it was yesterday :( Been awake till 2 am and only half or less of the 33 where out. I'm definitely taking my mom to watch it.
To everyone who is complaining that it's in English, you do realize that they're trying to reach a broader audience. Americans won't pay attention if it's in Spanish with English subtitles. However as a Mexican Americans I understand the frustration, yet another story has become "Americanized" that's just how it is, Hollywood puts the money in and they call the shots, disgusting in some ways yes, that doesn't mean it's shit but you should understand both sides of the argument before you make your own argument
Anthony Zapata You are so right, Spanish is America's second language but they don't care to try to learn it. I live in Canada and here English and French are the two official languages, and I learned both I am 66 years old now, plus I am Chilean born so I speak Spanish and Italian as well.
I only hope the 33 miners and family will benefit monetarily from this incredible story! After all they carry this nightmare for the rest of their life. Belief and miracle!
I just watched an early screening of this film and I really loved it! Such a beautiful and inspiring story (and tear-inducing too, LOL). And as a bilingual Latina I have no issue whatsoever with the fact that the movie was filmed in English -- it was produced by an American studio, simple as that. Further, English ensures maximum exportability. And FYI: To be truly authentic, the film would have needed to be in Chilean Spanish, which would have left many Spanish-speaking audiences outside of Chile quite bewildered, LOL!
They said many years ago that they would put the incident on the big screen. Years later I gave up on expecting it and finally they're doing it. I cant wait to see it.
"Sometimes, i try too hard and aim to please. But somehow I always find a way to miss. Not by miles, but I can't seem to learn from my mistakes." #The33
MattiaBlog In fairness this story was heavily in the news. So there may be some details that people do not know, but for the most part just about everyone should have idea of the story the movie is based on.
MattiaBlog You realize not all movies are about the ending, right? Stories are meant to reveal a character--or characters, in this case--and to illustrate the journey towards the end. This was blown up in the news already. The majority of people know how it started and how it ended, but not the in between; that's what this movie is for.
+MattiaBlog People like me see movies because they're entertaining and well-made. We respect the quality and heartfelt feeling that can go into a movie. Even though you knew what happened at the end Of Apollo 13, or 127 Hours, did you let that stop you from seeing it?
Not sure if the movie will cover this, but these men were Catholic and they built a shrine to Our Lord down there. The only reason they got through it was because they stayed faithful to the Lord Our God
