Small watches look way better on a large wrists than large watches look on small wrists. I think brands need to consider smaller cases more. That 34mm-40mm range really needs some more love.

My first mechanical watch was a Seiko SNK807K2, 37mm. I like how it looks on my 6,5(165mm) wrist better than any other 40/41mm watches I have.

Even as a bigger guy I am just so happy to see these classic sized watches making a comeback! 35-40mm watches look great on just about everyone and when done right they're just so charming. Hell, I have a 36mm piece sitting on my 7.75 inch wrist right now, and if I can pull that off, so can you! Now we just need Tissot to release a powermatic 80 version and I'll have an excuse to buy another watch

@@davidcrandall4958 from what I've read about quartz movements not lining up properly; it's a real challenge to ensure for every production piece and the cost/benefit ratio doesn't make sense in the price point most companies are targeting for their quartz lineups. Three things i like about Tissot regarding what they did with the PRX series: they reissued a relatively vintage style, noticed the success and expanded the options; they didn't ignore quartz powered choices, which is always great to generally reduce prices in and to attract some non-watch folks that do not care to get along with mechanics; and the sizes are entirely acceptable for a wide public.

As always, beautiful video! And I am super excited to try this watch on. I truly hope that whatever biases against quartz are out there are gradually on the way out, thanks to high quality uses of the movements like this. Quartz enables much smaller size and wearability for the narrow-wristed of us (like me), and at a significant price savings. One area that I will always take quartz over mechanical is in modern chronographs; there's almost no way I'd be able to get a reasonably priced chronograph that's thin and fits my wrist with a mechanical movement inside other than vintage.

I own couple of dress style vintage Omega which provides great vintage wearing experience. But I needed a watch with more of a sporty look that I could wear daily without constant fear of damaging it. Tissot PRX 35mm fits the bill perfectly. A true to spec piece with uber cool 70's vibe at an affordable price. For those who are used to wearing modern size watches, it will take some time to adjust your mind to smaller proportions. In the end, it's a matter of perspective. I for one feel I couldn't go back to wearing modern >38 mm diameter watches.

If a Powermatic 80 version happens, it will be an instant buy from me. Preferably with a blue waffle dial. I just hate the way Tissot is releasing these...like releasing a 40mm quartz, then having to wait a year for an automatic, then having to wait another years for a 35mm quartz, etc. I hate it, but I certainly understand it as a brand strategy. I never bought one up until this point (I have tried the 40mm and it just didn't work on my 17.5cm wrist - in my opinion), but my interest is still going strong after all this time. And here I am checking videos out and wanting a 35mm auto. So I'd say it is working.

@tiagodvt

@@fletcherhamilton3177 I guess that's what Tissot wants, with the way they are releasing them - to impinge the quartz to the people that in reality wanted the auto but simply can't wait. Gives them extra money and keeps the interesting going for longer. But no, not for me. I have no interest in getting two "equal" watches. Nor to resale the quartz and loose money on it. An automatic can be easily worn everyday, at least with my lifestyle - and I prefer it. Nothing against quartz, I own several. But if given a choice and a watch exists with both, I prefer the auto. I have plenty of watches and at this point I only buy what I really want, even if that means having to wait and not enjoy a watch for a few years. At least I know that when I get the one I want, I'll be happy with it and it will be a new experience.

@@tiagodvt - I can’t disagree with anything you just said . . . except that watches don’t constitute a necessity . . . I’d posit that they _do_ still do so, ‘cos I’m terms of fashion they still look good, they’re still useful and they do tend to break up an otherwise symmetrical look. I’d even go so far as to say that they can both augment the feminine for a woman and the masculine for a man, but even just on a practical level they afford the wearer a bit of a professional mien about his or herself. In terms of automatic . . . I suspect that a strong case could be made that a hella decent mechanical watching starting at / around the $1,000 mark - definitely within the arena of $2,000 - is going to be of sufficient accuracy that it’s really ‘pointless’ to put any more money down on something in the range of $10,000 like a Rolex or a Patek. But I also understand that you’re not only buying accuracy at that price range but also technical aptitude and superior engineering, so . . . 🤷‍♂️

This new release of the PRX makes perfect sense. I have the 40mm PM80 and love it, as do some others who unfortunately rule it out as a purchase due to the way that the bracelet end links hang. Now they have the chance to consider the purchase of a classic 70's style piece that will fit. I have to wonder if there are any plans for Tissot to produce an automatic version as I think the ETA2824 based PM80 might fit. Well it does fit in the Tudor Black Bay 36 but I guess the case architecture would play a part in that decision.

Teddy mentions this watch will offer accuracy of +/- 15-20sec per month. I have this watch and its under +4sec per month. Which is about the same accuracy as my Hamilton Khaki Quartz with another "cheap" ETA quartz movement. These affordable quartz movements/watches are incredibly accurate.

Is the bracelet on the 35mm long enough to accommodate guys with up to 7 1/2 inch wrists? I see this question asked on numerous videos but no one seems to have an answer
