My grandfather andrew cheevers was wounded at the somme he was 44 years old when he went over the top. I used to visit him at foster greens hospital. I do not agree with these men political wise as they wanted to uphold tje 1st January 1801 Acts of Union amd I don't but their sacrifice in the Somme was heroic for their cause even if i don't like their cause.
