It's 2023, and the age of the Nintendo 3DS is finally about to come to an end after a very healthy 12 year lifecycle filled with exciting new hardware revisions, solid games that have stood the test of time, and I'm sure there's plenty of eye strain bundled in there too. Time to pick one up?

Yep that's right, using the same mechanism the original DS did it I understand correctly!! The inner workings of it are really cool and I guess it is an advantage of sticking with the same CPU architecture across 3 generations lmao. Really not all that different from the GC/Wii/Wii U in that regard. Thanks for watching :)

While it does hurt me a bit that the eShop for both the N3DS and Wii U will close, later this month (mainly because it was my favorite app for both platforms), the modding and hacking community has my back, as well as many others who want to get games for both systems after the storefront's closure. Nice to see the community, behind these systems are still going strong.

Wii and 3DS eShop was my shit! I got so many virtual console titles and indie games on it. It's how I played a lot of Gameboy games for the first time. Really is a shame that it's going away but at least homebrew isn't going away any time soon 😁

I found this video while looking at DSI Unboxings while eating dinner before my bedtime, I had DSI for much of my childhood. But I always wanted a 3DS since I was like 6? and I actually got the original 3DS second-hand several years ago. I played Miitopia for the most of the time and I will say that I enjoyed it a lot. I wish it'd stay a litte longer since I still wish a few games to get.

That was the same way with me. Eventually, I upgraded to the small New 3DS and haven't went back. Although, I still do have my original. Hopefully, I can refurbish it, someday.

I actually recently bought a 2DS just for the sole purpose of modding and installing CFW. I already have a 3DS but I’m afraid of possibly bricking it. It’s got a bunch of digital games and streetpass data that I really don’t wanna risk loosing.

I remember going on a long school trip in middle school, and almost everyone in my class had some sort of 3DS aside from myself. I thought it was so cool how pictochat connected everyone (even though they got it banned lmao) and watching the magic of everyone play mario kart 7 off of one person's cartridge. I wish that feature still existed with the switch, but alas, Nintendo wants money

US 2DS XL prices are so high right now that I finally decided to order one from Japan. They had a lot more special releases than the US did anyway, so I got a Minecraft edition that is in excellent shape (according to the pics) for not much more than the regular releases are going for here right now 🙄

@@LowestLogan I remember getting my DS when I was 12 or 13 I think. Bought it off a friend. Although I must say that the DSI was way more relevant for me. I got the Super Mario Special Edition DSI XL for my 9th birthday together with Pokémon Heart Gold. That very system still runs today without any issues.
