There’s so many missing people in Mexico that on Mother’s Day, there was a huge march of women holding pictures of their missing kids and these students were amongst some of them. It’s very sad there’s so much violence and injustice in Mexico.

I think it's so sad that we won't see the true reason why the went missing, when I went to India I was 7, I saw a huge board of people who I had never seen before and written on there was missing in Punjabi, I didn't know what it meant because I couldn't read Punjabi at the time, but I knew something was wrong because my mum looked worried and said to my uncle to get out of there as quick as we can

@Zane Normonta they also shot the kids that were there for the soccer game, it is not about what they did or didn't do to deserve to be imprisioned or whatever i mean stealing buses for example, yeah shouldn't have done that and there's no one defending that, it's about the fact that the police was so unorganised and unnecessarily agressive when they shouldn't have been. also kidnapping and possibly killing them was also so uncalled for when they committed minor crimes

@@samberry5500 Lmao your still with the Mexico brings crime to America when in reality it doesn't. Again you don't feel threatened leaving ur house but I can name thousands of people in America afraid to leave there house also. And you wanna know why there's so much drugs here because America is dumb enough to buy it and Americans who live here sell it. Mexico or in fact any country or cartel doesn't force people to use drugs they don't have time for it instead they find people who are willing to sell and take it which then Americans use and don't even say well that's how Americans get it most people don't have a choice many do and then take it. You probably don't know what it's like to feel threatened my best friend doesn't even like driving because she's afraid she would get pulled over and shot like both of her parents on SEPERATE occasion and no they were both innocent the camera on the cop caught it all and her parents were doing everything they were told but no what happened? The white cop only got a suspension. Before you say that Mexico is corrupted and has violence. America is the same damn thing only difference is that America doesn't take the blame for it and blames it on other countries

I have a story of something that happened to my dad while he was in Mexico and it’s kinda scary. So he was going to visit his uncle in a different City so he took a bus. He had gone to visit him many times before so this trip was very normal to him. He went inside and asked the lady to buy a ticket. She said the bus was full and that he would have to wait for the next one the day afterwards. He kept insisting and then she eventually said that she could make room for one more seat. He went inside of the bus and was surprised to see that only him and about 4 people were on the bus even though they said the bus was full. He thought that maybe they just got a new bus for the people that also wanted to go but couldn’t. He was looking out of the window and he noticed that they weren’t going the same route they always did. He already knew it from going to visit his uncle many times before. He thought they might just be taking a shortcut or something. He then fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the night. The bus wasn’t moving and it was parked on a soccer field. He looked outside the window and saw people loading off boxes into the compartment under the bus where the suitcases were supposed to be. He then accidentally made eye contact with one of the people loading the boxes off, he got a weird feeling so he looked away and closed the curtain and went back to sleep. He woke up the next day and they were almost there. So when they arrived there was a man waiting for him and he looked very excited to see him even though my dad didn’t know him. He was like “Come on follow me I’ll give you a ride for free!” My dad was said “No it’s ok I’ll just go over there and get a Taxi. The man kept insisting so my dad eventually said yes. I am very happy to say that afterwards a Taxi driver knew my dad from his past trips walked up to him and looked at him and shook his head and then said, “It’s ok I’ll take you” and then grabbed my dads arm and dragged him away from the unknown man. He then went into the taxi with him and explained everything that had happened the day before. The taxi driver said “Damn you were in some real trouble.” My dad then realized that the boxes they took out were probably filled with drugs and that he was NOT supposed to see everything that happened. So the man he made eye contact with called somebody and said he saw everything and the man insisting to take him was probably trying to kidnap him or maybe even worse, kill him. I’m very glad to know that the Taxi driver saved him otherwise I might not be here today. Please stay safe everyone and don’t trust anyone you don’t know.

just wow.. so scary to imagine being one of only 4 other passengers (that may not even be "passengers" but other bad/their people, as the tickets for this bus were probably not being sold at all) wake up in the middle of the night, in some random place you don't even know, and seeing what's happening and !!!making an eye contact that feels wrong with some guy outside!!! what? I get chills only thinking about that.. and you cannot do anything, you will not leave the bus there at night... so you are stuck in this bus with those people, with probably nobody on "your" side

As a Mexican student I want to say how grateful I am for you to speak about this case, its not everyday that a “true crime youtuber” picks up a case like this. Maybe it will do some good and more people with platforms and louder voices than those students will talk about this tragedy more and that might put preassure in the mexican government in solving and giving closure to the mexican people who we are still asking and praying for their return to their homes or at least for them to hopefully had found peace. Thank you so much, Bella for giving some light to this almost -and sadly- forgotten case.

I remember a video that parents of the missing students released of them asking people for help to find their sons. They talked about how poor they are and how many of these men were the head of their house & who helped provide for their younger siblings. So tragic, to leave their families without explanation. Some parents expressed how everyday they still wait for their sons to come back while others want peace in knowing what happened to them 💔 Thank you Bella for shining light on such a tragic event that México will never forget

I’m sorry that people literally migrate for a better life. I’m sorry that you see one bad thing involving a Mexican and automatically assume all of us are bad. You continue to say we’re “violent” & “wont stop until we dance in the blood or each other”. You said “you want to bring this violence to America, keep it there”. No. People are gonna take it wherever their voices are being heard. I’m sorry you don’t like us or think we only promote and cause violence but i can assure you that if anything, it’s the other way around. I will never understand why they were killed in such an outrageous way. There is no theory that justifies violence and the extreme bloodthirsty torture towards these students. Yes, they were rebellious and violent because the system forced them to respond in this way, but there is nothing that justifies something as extreme as killing them by literally skining them and burning them. That is literally pure evil and abuse of power. You can never justify such acts. The saddest thing is that we all mexicans know the truth but there seems to be no concrete answers, there is no real justice because the police and the justice system are in collusion with the crime gangs and there is no higher authority that can do justice when the same government that is supposed to protect the people is to blame for all this.

@@demianguerra4206 that is correct. They shot the bus, shot two students (one of them died in the scene), and then when they realized they made a mistake, they took them so they wouldn't say anything. Basically the police gave the cartel the students so they could take them away to their quarters where they were tortured and killed.

I remember that I was in six grade when all this started, we had to suspend the classes, all because the parents of this 43 students had a strike. Now I’m in 10th grade until this day we don’t know exactly what happened

I am from Mexico and I have been binge watching your true crime videos this week, you have no idea how happy it makes me that you took the time to make this video, thank you so so much!! This case NEEDS TO BE KNOWN Also in case you want to share more latinoamerican cases, one that's similar to this one is the Restrepo Brothers, is from Ecuador, their story needs to be told

I’m so happy about you sharing this with all the world basically, because in Mexico nobody really talks about it, and the government every time tries to hide the case or make it look like nothing “bad” really happened, but to this day in the central streets of CDMX (Mexico City) families are protesting, and yet nobody talks about it

I live in Mexico and this was a HUGE case. You did not pronounced a lot of words right and I am in no need to correct you because I know it’s not your language. I can’t believe there’s people that feel offended because you can’t pronounce some words right.. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Itsyagurlnoor obviously... but she can still make the A sound, she just doesn’t know how the word pesos is pronounced. She’s probably only ever seen it written and assumes it’s pronounced as peesos

I remember my parents talking about this. It was all over the mexican news, its sad, a lot of family members are trying to still look for them or their bodies. Like always, the government in mexico did this again. They are really corrupt over there, if you pay police they will keep quiet and help. Its sad.

FINALLY!!! I only watch Buzzfeed unsolved and you when it comes to true crime. I have been commenting forever now on Buzzfeed to cover this. I'm really informed on this case, but the thing is, I just don't like to search and search on many outlets to piece many things together. THANK YOU

Ana Sanchezb there is a documentary on Netflix called Ayotzinapa (el paso de la tortuga) I think is very thorough. There is also a Mexican periodist Anabel Fernández she’s been in the case hard core and she has uncovered many things.

Bella, thank you for covering this case and using your platform to shed more light into it. My family is from Mexico and I remember when this happened. Violence caused by the state towards activists is something very common and we must never forget about our 43 brothers. The struggle continues, pero hasta la victoria siempre.

Almost five years since this tragedy and I can’t imagine what the families are thinking. I’m Mexican American and I continue my education for the 43. It’s not fair that Mexicans aren’t encouraged to get an education. You know why? Because education really is power and that’s what the government is afraid of.
