This is pretty well done. Joshua's voice is pleasant as always, and the book appears to have been abridged effectively to convey the core message in a shorter period of time. That said, I can't say I like the book. True, I knew a good number of these laws already. I can confirm their effectiveness through firsthand experience; if you follow the laws of power as described in this book, you will indeed gain some power over others. *HOWEVER*, I really can't recommend going down that route. Engaging in Machiavellian behavior, playing others as if they're pawns in the game of one's own self-actualization... clearly it works for some people, and I suppose those are the people that rule our civilization. But personally? Being that kind of person makes me feel horrible. These principles are effective ways of getting what I want, but I'm disgusted by what I see in myself when I put them into practice. Gaining power over others takes a toll. For me, at least, the price is almost never worth paying.
i cannot see myself being in such a situation where i can apply this in my life, atleast not realistically. but hearing joshua talk about almost anything is quite entertaining. ty for what u do 👍
Its a bit jarring how psychopathic many deep truths of human relations are. Even if you're not the leader of an army almost every interaction evokes power dynamics of some kind, even the most apparently innocent ones.

You don't have to like the laws of power. But you will abide by them regardless. Either you know them, or you will be ruled by them. Law 22 cites Jesus Christ. Just so you know. The book actual is a book to get your child so they may survive, and even thrive, and not be used in this, BRAVE NEW WORLD. GOD BLESS

while I'd think joshua would condemn the 48 rules of power and I dont like it my self, some of the ways the book states people are insecure is pretty shitty how true it can be.
How can someone do things effortlessly without boasting, while also taking credit for other peoples work? Can someone with a deeper understanding explain this to me because it sounds so silly
