As a German, I also agree that we make the best tools... All of these are great but I personally think that Wiha and Wera are, at least for insulated screwdrives, the best money can buy anywhere.

I highly suggest you look at PB Swiss. They are by far my favourite go to screwdriver. Try the Swiss grip range, a great tactile feel on the hand. Every screwdriver has a laser etched serial number as they can pin point the batch of steel used during the manufacture process. The tips are super strong and accurate. Check them out. Wiha comes 2nd. I find the Felo tips are too soft especially my PH2. Great video! 👍

One thing to consider is, that the Wera Kraftform handles will deteriorate when getting in contact with oils. That is a big no for me. After some time the molded thermoplastics (green, yellow,..) will start to become sticky and slimy and there is not much you can do to save it. The laser etched tips are nice and grippy, but the lack of oil resistance is such a big let down. I'm on team Wiha btw.

Switched from Klein to Wera. Haven’t looked back. I use the stainless steel Wera almost exclusively. Have their chisel drivers too. But I live someplace with high humidity and lots of rain. And these guys are tough. Really tough. Ergonomics and head strength/fit are excellent. Price is very reasonable. People I work with tell me I should be using Klein, and then they get hold of one of my Weras, and they shut up. Got a friend who’s been in the trade for well over a decade that uses Filo and Wiha. Both are solid choices. If my Wera drivers ever fail, I may try out PB Swiss. Because I like caviar and mineral water.

Good video. Personally, for slotted, I like PB Swiss. The unique design of the tip seems to fit the best in slotted screws, especially old slotted screws. The VDE I don’t like the round handles as much, but I do like the, multicraft, and if you like softer handles, the Swiss grip and rainbow. Classic are smooth and small handles which fit in bags nicely. The impact cap size 4 slotted I use a ton. They are spendy, but not obscene if you shop around. Maybe order a PH2 or slotted size 4 (1/4in) to try. They seem to be a love or hate thing. As you say, all the ones you showed are very good drivers, can’t go wrong and it’s mainly down to what handles you prefer. I notice all the ones you showed are not the slim tip style VDE. Slim tips fit in some breakers or other recessed screws where the others do not. The newer kleins VDE as well as never versions of some that you show are slim VDE. One issue I have with the ones you showed is that slotted are metric sizes. You end up with a 5.5 or a 6.5mm rather than a true 1/4 inch (and why the Wera chisel driver goes from 5.5mm to 7.0mm I will never know). Same issue with 3/16th inch. Some Felo rebrands are imperial sized. PB do seem to be spot on with their number sizes. Also, I like the Wera and Felo because they are light. The Wiha and Witte and big and Wiha seems heavier. Snap-on and the old handle style williams are also excellent screwdrivers.

Bingo ! PB Deffo . Is the one that treats slotted screws the most gently ! Their small precision drivers are also great , plus they make the best ratcheting drivers of the lot ( they make other brands feel like Crowbars ! ) . If you can’t afford Cam Out , pull the PB’s out !

All of my nuts drivers (about 12 in different lengths and sizes) are Klein. The handles are amazing and the magnets are too. All my normal and insulated drivers are wera. Can't really go wrong with either. The laser tips on the Phillips/slotted do grip better for sure on the wera.

@@americanelectrician The Anex ratcheting is my primary, has a P2 and a flathead reversible blade. I bought a couple double sided bits that I will change out depending (P1/S1, P2/S2, P3/S3). I don't think most people like ratcheting but I do and this on is a simple switch just below the ball and stays out of the way for unintended direction switching. I like the Vessel but I switch forward and reverse too much with my normal grip. I'm a 1st year Apprentice Electrician (9 months)

Wera is the toughest screwdriver I've ever owned, wiha is really good too. However a screwdriver that shocked me more than anything is westward brand from grainger!!! I'm a craftsman at a prison and I've had the same flathead, Phillips, and bit driver for over 8 years. They're tougher than a pine knot. So much so, I bought a set for the house and love them!!!

I prefer Wiha strike top screwdrivers because the metal end cap is bigger and PB Swiss, four daily drivers because I think they have the most comfortable handle and the best fit, Wera for a select few like VDE with replaceable blades because the handle locks unlike on the Swiss

Greetings from germany. 🙋‍♂️ I own Wera and Felo srewdrivers. Two similar set of 13 pieces each. Ph 1, 2, 3/ Pz 1, 2, 3, and seven standard "Schlitz" Schraubendreher. But both sets with a metalcore from bottom to top, so I can use a hammer for rusty screws. And all got a hexagonal blade design with a bigger point to use a wrench. Well all the brands you named producing very similar screwdrivers. You cant go wrong with any of them. But the design and how YOU can work with the tool makes the difference. If you have large hands or tiny hands and so on. Are you working in wet or oily conditions? And so on. But i have to mention that the PB swiss tools drivers having a different type of blade/tip. There for, they fitting or at least feel different than the other brands during working. But PB swiss tools are definetly top drivers.
@in-kognito8997

But the cross screws and schlitz/slot screwdrivers are a dying race. Tx ist the Standard. At least in germany for DIY. And, like ererywhere, there are more companys on the market than factorys who produce the tools. There are just different labels on it. They just putting their name on it after leaving the same blast furnace/conveyor belt. You know.

Beware guys. Before you even get into Wera, please be mindful of what you need because you can get pretty overwhelmed. They have at least 3 types of screwdrivers to select from. You think they're good for one trade....but NO....they tap into all trades and they even overlap.

Witte = *Vitt.* There is no 'L' in this word! Wiha = *Vee-ha.* Wera = *Verra.* Confusingly, 'W' is always pronounced as 'V' in German. As with the 'w' in Volkswagen, or bratwurst. HTH and thank you for your love of our engineering! 🇩🇪

I bought into the Wera hype a few years ago ( maybe ( 7/8 years back ) surrounding the laser etched tips. I found them to be a load of crap. Zero perceptible extra grip, and the tips snapped easily. There’s no way an engineer in the field can prove they work, like fail to remove a tight screw with a non etched driver, then the laser etched tips manage it. If you can’t prove the claims they don’t exist. The one thing I really liked was the short length fitted into my tool bag better than any other driver ever has. I have the Klein VDE and the ones you showed here. My kit is almost exclusively Klein, but I recently started looking at Milwaukee after buying their hollow shaft nut spinners ( the best on the market ), I wanted the made in USA versions but can’t find them in the UK. I looked again at Wera but wasn’t inspired. I looked at Wiha, I have their VDE nut spinners and the vario slimline set which are also excellent, they maybe a possibility. The very best bang for buck are Irazola but they are too tall for most of my tool cases, so I’m back to Klein…………..

@@davehaggerty3405 True but that's not a bad thing. Historically it's an industrial region from when it was part of Austria-Hungary. The factory is in Bystřice nad pernštejnem, but it was also called by it's German name Bistritz ob Pernstein. It's about 550 miles from Remscheid, where Wera's German HQ is, to Bistritz so easier to maintain good QC than manufacturing in the Far East for example. Wages are lower in Czechia hence Wera aren't too expensive, depending on the product. For example I paid £6 on Amazon for a 6 piece Wera bitset with extender earlier this year, although I can't find it near that price now, but even a Stanley bitset with similar bits costs £9. Or a PHO driver from Wera is £3.94, Stanley Fatmax is £3.60.
