Got a 06 with almost 300,000 miles still going strong!

I’ve had my 08 Type S for a year now. Solid car. it had 160k miles and i got it for 6k. It’s all black and dark window tint. I can’t stop looking at it when i walk away in the parking lot. i can’t see myself trading it in anytime soon

After I got my 08 I swore to never buy another brand car! Acura is the way to go.

The ONLY thing the next generation has over this Generation is the SH-AWD, but it has a face only a Mother could love. The steering feel suffered greatly as a consequence of going to electric steering, and there are WAY too many buttons scattered about the interior. This generation is the perfect blend of handsome, clean styling both inside and out that doesn't age. It handles well, and hey, as a guy with a lot of Rock/Jazz Cassette tapes from the 80s, never issued on CD, I appreciate the cassette player! lol :)

Amazing car just passed 190,000 miles on my 05 TL. Extremely reliable as long as you do regular maintenance, trans flush, radiator flush, oil changes every 7,000 miles and even a sea foam treatment after 75,000 miles.. Only work done on it was a rear sway bar link replacements.

I have O6 TL. Sounds like a sweet jet taking off. I just want to buy up all the used TLs, like toilet paper during a pandemic.

I have an 08 tl and man it’s amazing. It’s a beautiful car (mine is red with 06 rims), it rides super smooth and it’s quick and fun to drive. If you are looking into buying a nice used car I would definitely recommend the tl.

I love my 2007 Acura TL type S. I've owned two cars before and my Acura is honestly, hands down, my favorite of the three. I've owned a 1987 Volvo 740 and a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am before the Acura, and both had several issues that I don't have with the Acura.

I have this exact color but mines an 05 but mine has the same wheels and nav. I'm currently at 213k miles and I got it with 207k. I don't have any maintenance records. My transmission is going out I think. The d flashes on the dash and acts sluggish sometimes. I did a 2 quart drain and fill already but it's only been 3k miles. Should I do another drain and fill again? Is it too soon or it can't hurt it? I know originally the fluid that came out was dark brown so I know the drain and fill must have helped. But I don't wanna do too much too soon

Great car!! Got a 2005 tl, Pearl White, 6 sp, 170k, with original clutch running and shifting as it was new!! Everything works.. Just a couple cracks on dash!! Everywhere I go I asked if I'll sell it.. Probably one of the Best body style Acura produced...

I have a 99 with 341K on it, all original and everything works, even the mirror heaters. Older Acura’s rule!!

The traction control with the manual transmission is awesome. Went up an icy ❄️ hill no problem. My 02 Altima 5 speed would have never made it . I’m just so impressed. It was like I had 4wd.

Hey bro, wanted to ask you and others who have a 2008 TL. I got mine in beige , but the paint on the front bumper and back bumper seem to be chipping real easily. Is this also true for others? The clear coat seems to scratch easily? Do others have the same problem? if yes, any solutions so far? Thanks much.

I just traded in my 14 Focus ST for an 08 Type-S. Other than having to replace the alternator and having a mysterious clicking sound during acceleration from a dead stop and low speeds, the car is top notch! Oh and yeah, the bulb for my drivers side heated seat illumination is burnt out as well, oh and the cup holder cover broke, I can live with that. I live in the Chicagoland area and put the paddle shifters to work on the Dan Ryan Expressway last week... Awesome performance! And thank god no rust! Car was delivered in Texas and then to Missouri, now Northwest Indiana, and that is where it is going to stay.

Agree on the styling. I just restored my headlights with the 3M kit and they have amazing power now. I'm actually unsure if the interior door handle is aluminum as mine looks like it is crumpling up a little, so it might be fake. The other chrome parts feel like they are real though. Yeah, that lower door is supposed to open on its own. The quietness is nice while driving, but I had to have more exhaust note so I did the stage 1 exhaust, also posted a sample of that on my channel and compared to stock. Definitely nice now, and no drone. The body lean is not all that great...but I came from a 7G Civic so I'm probably biased. This car has the softest suspension of any Honda product I've been in so it is somewhat closer to a Lexus feel which I don't mind since it has to do both sport and luxury - pretty great for a daily. Another great video with some good points. Love my UA6.

My '08 Gray/black w/Navy going strong at 176k. Disconnected HFL because of a parasitic draw the other day but other than that..still love it since I bought it May 2016.

I don’t have a tl but I have a tsx 6 speed and Rdx and I love both cars rdx is the best when I put it in sport mode and use the paddle shifters and there very reliable cars

Mine has 234000 still running strong but I'm scared as shit about losing my trans. Its still on the original one plus i can't tell if its time to change the fluid. Its faded reddish brown

The transmission will shift very smooth by changing the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches

If you want to fix the shifting problem change the transmission fluid 3 x's. Driving around 50 miles between changes. Use only Honda transmission fluid. I have an Acura technician moonlight work on my car 196,000 mile 2005 tl recommended I did it an did it for me. Afterwards smooth as silk.

Got a 2004 with 118k Technology package/ Slips on third and thats really the only issue with the vehicle. Was told it was the Solenoids, has any one encountered this problem?

Would love any and all recommendations: Previous Car: 03 Honda Accord V6. Mileage : 260,000+ when an oil seal blew. Transmission was starting to go. Looking at: 2005, Acura TL, 5 Speed Mileage: 126,244 Cons: Driver's side seat leather is badly cracked and damaged. Seller asking $5,500 for it (Denver, CO). Have not seen or driven the car. I REALLY enjoyed the power I had in my Honda and the ease and cost of fixing and maintaining the car. 1. Can I expect this of the Acura? 2. Transmission issues something to look out for in this model? 3. What should I look for when driving the car other than transmission and engine issues? 4. Premium gas worth the price of the car? 5. How quickly will the luxury features fail on me, i.e. electronics? 6. Is this a fair price? What should I counter offer with? Would love to counter at $4,500. I'd buy that car all day at that price. this car gets awesome highway mileage with the tall 5th gear, but the city mileage is dismal. i get 17-18 mpg in the city....which happens to be all my driving :(

Sounds like your tl needs the valves checked or adjusted!! Its a little loud on idle so may want to check that

the 4th gen interior is miles better than the 3rd gen on top of having a better engine(j35) and transmission(6 speed auto).That being said the 3rd gen is still the best looking TL ever made.

Great car for engine reliability. The interior starts to fall apart at higher miles tho. Cracked dash, ripped leather seats, broken cup holder, sagging headliner, radio dies, HFL kills the battery etc.

I have a 05 base. 240k miles. Cracked dashboard and I disconnected the hfl link. Replaced radiator and Ball joints.
