I mean I get it, the fact that he was completely smitten in love with her at the you, & ANYONE who's ever truly been in love KNOWS that when you 1st get that in love feeling it seriously really does feel like a drug (imo that's one of the BEST feelings in the world!). The dumbest part is that Waits wasn't even drugged up in that interview. That was his "character" in the late 70s. He even used some of those same jokes in his 'Fernwood Tonight' appearance, after playing "The Piano Has Been Drinking"...Tom was playing up the drunk and stoned crooner. So the 'Reelin' In The Years' interview wasn't "real".

It is thought by many, though not proven as far as I know, that artists and performers more often have bipolar disorder than the general population. Whether for genetic reasons, or because the mania itself aids creativity in the early stages, or creativity as a coping mechanism, I don't know, but a correlation has long been suggested. While in most of the examples in this video there are clues that it's cocaine, in many cases people completely ignorant about mental illnesses (most people) assume someone is on cocaine when they're CLEARLY suffering from bipolar disorder (Charlie Sheen being a perfect example - there were no drugs in his system when he was acting like that, so clearly his history of drug abuse had been caused by the symptoms of mania and not the other way round). I was also shocked that everyone seemed to assume the "stop Kony" guy was on drugs when he stripped naked in the street. I don't know if he was or not, but mania is at least as likely an explanation when you see someone acting like that. Mark McGrath too could easily have been in the middle of a manic high rather than a drug high, in that brief clip. The two look very similar, which is one reason it takes too long for people to get diagnosed. Without insight into what's happening, they need someone else to step in and contact medical help, but strangers and even friends who see someone approaching a dangerous degree of mania frequently assume it's "just drugs" and will wear off.

That is likely a result of two things colliding -- 1. The people at Cracked generate humor that appeals to smart people with a sense of decency. 2. Smart people with a sense of decency have zero interest in something like raw video of people embarrassing themselves, so half the viewers are lowest common denominator zombies who are only interested in the raw video and not the commentary that attempts to elevate something so hideous into something more. Just read the comments. Tons of LCD reality TV viewers annoyed that thought and creativity has been added.
