Great video David. I like the custom made markers but I haven't made them for more than a year now since I realized the text in the state is not shown in the translation documents so I wouldn't recommend to put any text in a state if the e-learning is going to be translated. I haven't tested it now. Has Articulate fixed it? It's annoying especially when you have a textbox with lots of content in it and the content is different in every state. Only the text in the base state was shown in the translation export. Anyway, at least this was my experience with it. As long as you are not planning to translate the course it's fine.
@@danielk1ss Good news, Daniel. That issue has been fixed for some time now in SL360. But good point and reminder to test and test and test when you're trying new ideas and features.

Very nice David. I hope you will continue this series (6-10) etc. One thing I would LOVE to see you (or someone else) do is to either create or deconstruct in detail some of the top E-Learning Challenges entries on E-Learning Heroes and put them on your RU-vid channel. I say this because almost always none of the entries give a detailed breakdown of how they actually created their entry. Sure, at times, they may give a brief response but quite often one is left desiring more of a breakdown.

This was a very informative video. However, if you're going to use graphics not readily available in the content library, you could think about providing them. It would be nice to follow along with the demonstrations.

I'm stumped! I'm working on my first portfolio project and am using a Drag and Drop scenario for a Do and Don't grouping where the learner categorizes choices in Do and Don't groups. I can't seem to assign multiple targets for each Do and Don't choice. To be a bit more clear, the learner needs to drag and drop each choice to it's designated Do and Don't row. Is there a simple workaround for this? Thanks!

hello. I am interest to know how you made the graphic shown at approx 32 mins. Where the image magnifies when clicked. I am wanting to create something similar to show aspects on a spreadsheet

aaah sadly this wasnt the bit - it was shortly after leading into 33mins where you talk about a graphic that you have made (i think outside of storyline (where the image enlarges in a circle on a click on marker you have made.

The magnifier app I'm using is called ZoomIt www.zoomitapp.com/zoom-it.html I run Storyline on my Mac using Parallels Desktop. Windows has a built-in option in the Mouse Properties > Pointer Options > Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key. Microsoft has a free utility called PowerToys, which includes a mouse highlight tool. You can find PowerTools here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/ You can also find some alternatives to Zoomit here: alternativeto.net/software/zoomit/ Hope that helps!

I've been struggling with the feedback option (at around 43 minutes). I want to make the state of the drag item to return to "Normal" when I drag it back on the original position (as if somebody had changed their mind and put it back) but the state always changes to "incorrect". Is there an obvious solution to do this that I'm missing?

@@cbtcafe Thanks David, this is GREAT. The only problem I'm having with it now is that the elements align to the center of the hot spot rather than "Free" or their original position. Is there a setting in the hotspot for this?

Does anyone know how easy it is to export courses from articulate? Wondering if you can just pay the subscription for one year and export all your courses before the end of that year and embed into your website or if there will be things in place to push you to pay for further years (eg limits on what can be exported, water marks etc that sort of thing)
Hi Phoebe! Good question and one that comes up often in one form or another. With your Articulate 360 subscription, you pay for the software to author (create) the courses. Once your course is published (exported) there are no limits on how you distribute or host your content or how many users view your content. Content doesn't expire, add watermarks, or limit how users can take your courses.
Nothing can slow me down :-) But you can slow down the playback in RU-vid. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the player and you'll see the Playback Speed option. That should help.
Great video - BUT If you are a student in a class, wouldn't it make sense to actually get this content IN STORYLINE instead of in youtube?!?!?!? if you are taking a class, why would you need to watch youtube to learn about storyline? Yea, I get it that it's an easy place to store a video, but if you came here because you are taking a course, I think its COMPLETELY lame that we are watching a video instead of getting a storyline interaction to try in within the software. ...instead of watching somebody else's instructor watch their own content in a video.
