Not everyone wants 26” wheels on their daily driver…

I actually prefer fixed running boards. No motors to go bad. No moving parts to fill up with snow and salt. May not look as clean but zero long term issues. Not cheap to fix even if you can do the work

Love the new Denali! My wife's '21 Tahoe had the auto start/stop feature left off of it because of the chip shortage. Blessing in disguise.

I’m actually in the process of swapping my 2001 GMC Yukon to a duramax!! I’ve had the truck forever and I absolutely love it!!! I’ve done allot to it like rims, tires, sound system, paint, debadged it and all kinds of stuff. I pull my 20’ heavy equipment trailer all the time with it and she’s does good for the 5.3 but It’s been my dream/goal to put a duramax in it!

There are reasons that GM offers multiple options and packages on the Denali line - 1) The 22" wheels are incompatible with snow chains/ cables so those that live in areas with occasional snow (not enough to justify a separate set of wheels with snow tires) would not be able to drive their vehicles if chains were required. 2) Appearance aside, the ride quality with the 22" wheels is substantially inferior to the 20s. The exception is the Cadillac's suspension system and tuning which isn't available on the current model Denali. 3) Some people might want the basic Denali equipment such as the 6.2L engine and interior upgrades WITHOUT the larger wheels and power running boards. Speaking of wheels, asthetics are entirely subjective. Not everyone wants overly stylized and/ or ill fitting options that reduce vehicle dynamics and fuel economy....

I agree with all of these.. Kia did a good job on Lane assist to where you can dodge debree in the road but it'll also assist you in the lane without extreme force

I used to buy all GM, from cars to pickups to vans but I have found that since about 2007 they are nowhere near what they used to be. Repair bills and fighting for warranty repairs between 07 and 14 finally drove me to purchase Toyotas. I’m very satisfied with a 2008 tundra 5.7 and a 17 Tacoma since 14. Also an 18 Camry. I’ll I’ve had to do is regular maintenance on the Toyotas. They have been absolutely trouble free.My opinion is … GM is cutting corners in the last decade or so and there is a new generation of engineers at the helm that put styling first, not reliability. Just my thoughts.

We have a 21 Yukon Denali ultimate Duramax. The ultimate includes everything include camera mirror, auto running boards, 22" wheels, panoramic sunroof, air suspension, the dual 12" screens on headrests etc.

The auto headlight highbeams is the same way on the previous gen Denali Sierras with the square headlights, you have to double tap the headlight highbeams to turn on the auto high beam feature.

In my 2013 Yukon Denali to turn on all the cabin lights, you have to turn the gauge cluster brightness all the way up and they will turn on with one extra tap of the button.

There will probably be a harness you can plug into the start/stop to permanently disable it . We have one on our Volkswagen atlas

I love my 21 Denali 6.2. I wish lane assist was more reliable. I love the fixed steps because the look of auto boards aren't the best looking. Mine came with 22s as i had a Denali package however I immediately added 26s.

You will appreciate stationary running boards the next time you drive through loose gravel and it protects the side of your truck from chipping. They also tend to freeze up on extreme cold weather locations. And retractable running boards do not let you mount splash guards for the front tires. Better to have than have not!

If you can find the build/sale sheet there should be a "credit" marked in the options and if your rear view mirror thing is on there as a credit the vehicle is fitted for it and you can get it installed with a kit by the dealer I believe for free

On most GM vehicles to enable or disable your auto lights, you just quickly flash the high beams by pulling the lever back and letting go immediately.

When I was looking at Sierra's back in 2016/2017 I did notice some features for the Denali were add ons. Same thing went for the SLT I ended up buying.... It was something i spent a ton of time making sure I understood before buying... It was a real pain in the ass.. PS... I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS tell the dealer to take their shit off before i buy it... LOL

Lane keep assist on my honda almost drove me into a concrete wall at 50 mph. Turned it off.

Omg bro I'm a disabled vet that's been looking for one of these for months now! But just recently I got a 21 yukon xl with the 5.3 as a rental for two weeks, and it made me want a 3.0 one that much more. But man you hit all of these on the money!

This dude need the ultimate package if he want 22s, camera mirror and automatic running boards. I love the ultimate package with the illuminated running boards, gmc side mirrors lights, gmc grille light.

To turn on all the cabin/dome lights u push and hold one of the lights and they’ll turn on and to turn off you do the same thing! But will only work on the front ones

I had the prior body Denali. 3” level and super swappers on factory 20s. Then tint. Perfection.

On my 2015 jeep. I on plugged the closed hood scencer. An u don't have to worry about turning the auto start stop.

Jack, I have heard if you put a test plug in the trailer light plug the computer will think you have a trailer attached and disable auto start stop feature.

Buy the Auto Stop Eliminator. Makes it so you do not have to keep turning it off as it remembers how you set it. Took less than an hour to install.

I have the 3.0 in my Sierra and the auto stop start function stopped working when my “change fuel filter” alert popped up. So, I didn’t reset it after I changed the filter and the auto stop start hasn’t worked since. Thank the LORD!!

Might be able to mod it to have that rear view creature comfort man I'm quite sure the port or plug in is probably still there maybe 🤔

Just going to screw up the glow plugs starter and crankshaft bet gm didn’t think about that 😱

I'm surprised you didn't mention the door mirrors go down when backing up and my wife complained about no grab handle to assist getting in on passenger side a pillar

My 2015 Yukon Denali has stationary running boards and no lane keep assist but notifies me when I do get too close to the line. No sunroof and no rear entertainment. It does have the forward collision system. I prefer mine the way it is though honestly

The Denali Ultimate has been a package for quite some time but with the 2022 Sierra 1500 mid generation body redesign the Denali Ultimate will be introduced as its own Trim Level and will feature Super Cruise as well as many many others and a refreshingly modern redesign on the interior!!! Actually you can turn auto stop/start off in the radio if im not mistaken used to work at my local gmc dealership and turned that function off for a customer on a 2020 model yukon

Like you said, there’s two types of “Denali”s now. You have the regular Denali, and then the Denali Ultimate. The Denali Ultimate comes with all the things you said, such as the 22’ rims, power running boards and the rear camera mirror. It’s silly that they do that now, but I guess that’s what it’s come to.

I’ll add a few annoyances from my 2022 Yukon Denali. The windshield wiper controls are crazy small. Find it very hard to actually turn them on. Also you can’t turn on all the interior dome lights if the switch to turn on the lights when the door opens is pressed. It’s a weird bug. If you hold the interior light to turn on all the lights and the door light switch is on the lights flicker and don’t turn on. Another one is the off button isn’t sensitive enough. Find myself having to press it two times to actually turn the car off. Never had that issue in any other car but the Yukon ignition button isn’t very responsive.

I wish some manufacturer would build an 8-lug SUV. There’s a company called DuraBurb that puts an HD Duramax drivetrain into GM SUV, and GM should learn from them.

So glad the 2500 l8t gasser doesn't have start stop or GM's lovely lifter issues for DOD/AFM.

You should try the auto stop eliminator to get rid of the auto stop start.

Same thing happened to me when I bought my 2021 2500 AT4. Has every bell and whistle possible. Showed my buddy and he liked it so much he went and bout one too. After looking at them side by side, his had no where near the creature comfort features mine had. Needless to say he only had that truck a week then traded it in on a new ford.

our black 22 tahoe rst had black tahoe badges on the doors and a red "rst" along with a chrome "duramax" on the tailgate. The duramax and rst was removed and I found a black rst badge, looks way better. those are a couple things i didnt like but fixed already

Lane assist is awesome in the highway. My ole lady says she doesn’t use it at all around town. Also perks of using the same salesmen’s my whole life. He knows not to put the dealer sticker on. I’ll rock the license frame for him though.

I've heard of Denali/at4 not coming with rear heated seats due to the chip shortage. Better double check...😄

They should also come standard with the BBK package standard for the top tier trims.

I agree on the badges. Gotta love chip shortages. I picked up my Sierra 3.0 at the beginning of the whole pandemic.

The ultimate package has been around for years. I believe since 2016

It took a couple of weeks to get adjusted to the rear view camera, but I love it now

My mom has a diesel range rover and it has auto stop/start every time you pull up to a stop light it shuts off. I hate that so much

Jack auto stop/start is a federal mandate for light duty cars and trucks. GM couldn’t have a setting for it to stay off if they wanted

This blows my mind that you have to enable auto high beams everytime you get in one unlike Ford and dodge where u set it once and forget about it

My dad owned a 2012 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 and it was a lemon. My mom owns an 07 denali XL w/ the 6.2 and it still runs like a charm

theyre a company that offers a plug n play called auto stop eliminator that has it where everytime you get in the vehcle you dont have to keep presssing the button

You should paint the chrome surround of the grille' that way it isn't as much chrome

Was forced to go truck shopping when my last one got stolen an found a good priced 19 GMC Denali with 1 owner and low miles that I had to have. Thought I was only sacrificing roof lights but a week later I realized I didn’t have a sunroof or 5th wheel/gooseneck connections either.. I’m one of those people that didn’t realize they came in different packages and figured Denali meant it would just have all the goodies. Wasn’t the case

the statement about the different levels of denali is very true my moms have had 2 both have had things the other have/haven’t had but both drive and ride very very nice good overall suv

Do these 3.0 duramax’s need to “see dealer” after high miles as well as 3/4 and 1 ton trucks do ??

I'm in the market to get a Yukon xl and was wondering what was tge heaviest thing you have towed? I'm looking about 9000lbs and wondering if it would do it I know it's only rated to 8000lb but the trucks are at 12500 and the chassis is basically the same brakes are basically the same and power train is diffently the same thoughts?

Hi! Iam Nick a salesman of a small town chevy dealer in Pennsylvania,the reason you don’t have the rear camera mirror is because it only comes in the one advanced trailering packages which is currently on constraint because of the chip shortage

Yah that’s happens with a lot of Denali my mother has a terrain Denali and there was two at the dealership one had only heated seats and then other one which we bought had the heated and cooled seats and more cameras.

I have a 2021 Colorado z71 with the 2.8 duramax and it’s true the trims is pretty low quality love the truck but I think for the price they could of done a better job especially with the interior

You can thank the EPA and CARB for all the start stop systems on practically every car/ light truck. They force their hand on every OEM to make it fiscally irresponsible to not have it on a vehicle. Thankfully the EPA still allows OEMs to have the disable switch, I look for that to be removed and for there to be no option to disable start stop in a few models years.

The auto lights on older models was a button on the turn signal I like your version better. It’s hard to find the button at night.

It’s not GMCs fault you didn’t pick the option with 22” wheels or the power running steps. Both are on the 2022 Premium and Reserve packages.
