No, you’re wrong. These statistics are based off experimental probability, while the one’s provided by the game are theoretical probability. You can’t say that HSR isn’t a 50/50 because there is an infinite number of tests that can change the experimental probability. Theoretical is based off of calculations done to directly define the outcome while experimental is done on data. Data can be changed; accurate calculations cannot.

It’s just the results that came out with a 50/50 chance of getting a rate up character. Just because the outcome is not perfectly 50/50 doesn’t mean that the banners are more in favor towards the limited character.

For genshin one way to make that 50/50 disappear is spend a big big amount of money on your acc for the first time

Idk I didn't lose 50/50 on Genshin for 2 years but in Honkai I lost my 50/50 on the first 5 star I tried to get.

I only remember losing 2 50/50: -In the luocha banner, i got himeko. - in the black swan banner, i lost the 75/25 of the light cone.

At least this explains why I won five 50-50s in a row, then lost only when it came on acheron

this makes so much sense why I have a 70% 50/50 winrate over 13 5*s, and why I have won 2-3 50/50s in a row it's either insane luck or I got the rate up character when I lost 50/50 and guaranteed my next one but to me it just looks like I won it multiple times in a row

50/50 dont mean that 50 percent people have won the limited banner character. It just means 50 percent people should have got a limited banner character so you still have 50 percent chance of getting a limited time charcter😅😂

I know I’m like a week and a half late, but this very interesting, considering in the past year, I’ve lost a 50/50 only twice in Genshin, and I’m still pulling regularly, I’ve gotten most 5* I’ve wanted. Yet HSR has me losing more frequently, like every time other time I’m losing.

won all my 50/50s until jingliu came around. lost it to bronya. won my next 50/50 with sparkle but i lost to yanqing on aventurine's banner. i got him eventually but it was SCARY, got him later than i would've liked but he came home early :) all i had to do was whisper (it was the middle of the night and my roommate was in) "it's all or nothing" and BOOM aven's home :D

something wonky is happening either with data or something gets ignored when calculating the chance, the same thing happens in genshin, hu tao nuvilete banner had 25milion pulls registered on paimonmoe and 50/50 win rate was 52,8%, there was a couple more banners that were at nearly 53% and others are at 51,5-52,5, first ever registered banner on paimonmoe was first banner of hu tao and there we can see apparently 54.3%, so are both games lying or are we missing something? maybe bias for lucky people being more likely to share their data is underestimated? maybe there's an issue accounting for guaranteed 5* when you lost on a previous banner?

could this not just mean it's just playerbase being more lucky? you aren't ever going to get exactly 50/50 unless you analyze an infinite amount of players. Its always gonna be slightly different

Anyone who genuinely believes they ever, EVER lie about the odds in these games. Please go look up the laws games like this have to adhere to in order to even exist. They are REQUIRED to be 100% transparent with their probabilities. If they say it's 50/50, *then it's 50/50.*

I think I've found a pattern in my account when pulling for a char. It's as follows: Win Win Lose Guaranteed, Win Win Lose Guaranteed. Not too bad since the win rate is quite high. I haven't lose a single LC so I haven't figure it out yet.

As someone who only plays honkai star rail i count this as an absolute win

I would've believed this if I didn't lose every single 50/50 for 2 versions straight (I pulled 4 characters, lost all)

I've been playing Genshin since day 1 and last year's Yelan banner, I got her C1 20 pulls after C0. That was the good luck I got besides winning streak 50/50.

Guess I’m pretty lucky to always hit that 43%. Additionally on the Acheron banner, I lost both the 50/50 and the 75/25 on the weapon banner.

That explains why I could get new banner characters but never get rerun banner. Mihoyo probably being nice though, since you still need six more to unlock juicy pi- i mean, stronger stats for said character, so people will still burn their wallet for that

Oh that's why I have won all except one of my 50/50! (Genshin I have lost all my 50/50 though, so it's hard to believe they're playing it fair either)

I've somehow got a 75% win rate on the character event warps, which makes it higher than my light cone event warp's 71% win rate.

oh that explains why I got Black Swan, Aventurine and Boothill without guarantee between them

Honestly, I won't be surprised. Cause I've been winning HSR's 50/50 a lot more compared to Genshin. I've been playing for a year since I returned to Genshin last year of February and I've won 50/50 only once, during a Nilou banner. Meanwhile, I've been playing HSR since release and I've won like five 50/50 already (Kafka, FuXuan, Jingliu, Acheron, Topaz).

Now it makes sense why i have acheron (lost badly to sparkle at 80 pity and even though tried to pull for her again at 70 pity I gave up and got acheron in four pulls) afterwards so I tried for loucha, won the 54/46 and went on to lose aventurine on purpose only to end up getting welt and aventurine back to back, lastly here I am winning that 54/46 on robin!

Provided odds and statistical results are different. When you flip a perfectly balanced coin, the odds are 50/50... but after millions of flips, there will likely be a trend to one or the other. In the code, I expect it goes : random number from 1-100. If 1-50, get special. If 51-100 get basic. A deviation of +/- 10 points (40-60%) is to be expected. If the stats came out perfectly at 50%, that would say there is shenanigans in the background to make sure it happens. Rather than simple randomization. Also, they wouldn't bother fixing it... because spending a few months adding all that extra code to force it is a waste of money.

I’m a paid player in GI and most of times I lose my 50/50. Kazuha and neuvilette are the only times I win 50/50 I’m a f2p in HSR and get most 5* limited characters along with their light cone, I only lost 50/50 twice on Blade and Sparkle’s banner. Now I know why that is possible.

My God! We need Statistics courses for those contents creators. What they did was relative frequency probably (called empirical probability)... Even you consider 15 millions and you found that in 56% of the 50/50 results, players wins, it doesn't mean you have 56% chance of winning 50/50. It's like a coin flip. If you flip the coin 10 times, just because you got heads 9 over 10 times, it doesn't mean your chance of getting head next time is 90%. It's still 50%...

Well in that case if you lose a 50/50 and get the banner character you have a gaurenteed pull for the next pull without realizing it. Although that depends if its tied to LOSING the 50/50 and not if you actually obtain the banner character.

With companies like this they have different dev teams on different games with only bits of crossover. Given the autonomy of these entities it may just be that starrails team likes their players more. Between the 70 pity in starrail (as opposed to 90) and the better rewards for important events I see this as likely intentional

I think it might be because there's a sort of expectation of people getting all the characters. Each character has a special, unique achievement just for them. If you're wanting to 100% the game, achievements and all, you'd have to get every single character.

I've lost every 50/50 in 2.x updates. But for some reason, every 50/50 I lost in a 2.x update has been to Clara. Pain.

I got 56.25% based off of the theory you gave because if they really did put the limited character in with the standard then that would even out to 6.25% per character so 50% + 6.25% = 56.25% to 43.75%

Honestly I always assumed the "pity system" was just a myth. It seems obvious that people would try and make something like that up. Especially since whenever someone describes it, they essentially say it makes perfect sense your odds increase over time. Just kinda sounds like gambling logic, which makes sense given the theme but doesn't seem to hold water.

If the rate up was mistakenly included in the standard pulls then why wouldn't anyone have gotten the rate up from standard banner? It doesn't seem likely to me that they have one standard pool for the standard banner, and then ANOTHER pool consisting of the same characters plus one more

I lose all my 56/43's in HSR, but (mostly) win my 50/50's in genshin. (One time I lost, I got a double five star and then won the next 50/50 at like 5 pity)

Makes...sense i guess. Ever since Kafka's most recent banner I've gotten her, two black swans in the same pull, acheron, and finally lost to Clara for Aventurine. Only a few pulls later did i get him. Thought i was oddly lucky, considering the standard characters i have were from the free 80 pulls and standard banner pulls.

1/8th of 100% is 12.5%. If we put the 50/50 into the equation, that knocks it down to 6.25%. If the 6.25% is the rate up character that is included in the basic warp chances, and we add that to the 50% chance that we have from the 50/50 already, we get the result of a 56.25% chance to get the rate up character. This is extremely close to the mentioned 56.4% of people who win 50/50s, so the theory that they did include the rate up character in the basic warp chance is likely true.

For me it’s been 100%/0%since release. I hope that doesn’t disappear on Fu Xuan or Firefly

They do do some weird things in standard banners like genshin having a pity on what you own and balances it out but I haven’t got a mona so don’t think it’s trye

50/50 is of course counted and applicable for some accounts with "Normal" luck. So the question is more about, how do they know these "Normal" accounts vs the "Luckiests" accounts. It actually doesnt matter in fact the probability, the put it for legal reasons + also to get you that you will win. But as the "Luck" factor it is include, you can or win double legendary, get early legendary or loose every 50/50.

While I always had luck in Genshin (many 50/50s won + some early pity), my Star Rail pulls are just...way more lucky. I think I lost the 50/50 like...twice and I've been able to get nearly every character I wanted + a couple of banner limited Light cones

I’ve literally won 7 5050 in hsr in a fricking row still haven’t lost one yet as I started playing a few months ago, I’m genuinely scared of my 5050 luck in that game at this point

I've never lodt a 50/50 in hsr. Ive been pulling in every patch ever since jing yuan was released. (My genshin 50/50s always lost) Karma is a great asset to life

Well this explains why, as of Robin's banner, I haven't lost a single 50/50 in Penacony yet. And here I was thinking I was just blessed by Aventurine lol. But in all seriousness, there is a slim possibility that this is intentional. Star Rail's devs seem to be a LOT less stingy than Genshin's.

That explains why I got acheron and aventurine, I must have lost acherons 50/50 but still gotten her, leaving me with a guarantee for aventurine

I’ve only lost my 50/50 twice in Genshin during my 3 years playing it and I have many five stars. However, I’ve lost my 50/50 the first time I played HSR last year to the SAME character I pulled for the first time on the Standard banner. I don’t play it as often so I don’t have many five stars even. During that time I hadn’t even lost a 50/50 in Genshin. My luck is horrendous for HSR
