Saw Motörhead just before Lemmy died. You could tell Phil and Mikkey knew that any of the shows could be Lemmy's last one, and they went the extra mile to make him comfortable and to entertain the crowd. Lemmy was only half alive but he was still the man. He pulled through the whole show and gave everything he got. That was the only time I saw Motörhead and I am super grateful that I got to go. I was in tears when I hear he passed. He was not only a rock god but a fantastic human.

My first concert was The Wiggles when I was 4. I just remember how insane the kids went during the show. I’ve seen Springsteen twice. The best was the Wrecking Ball tour in 2012. It was a 3 1/2 hour show. So moving and such an emotional moment for 12 year old me. I went to Experience Hendrix once and as a young guitar student it was so inspirational to see Billy Cox (Jimi’s friend and bassist during the Band of Gypsies era) as well as Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Dweezil Zappa, Buddy Guy and Kenny Wayne Shepard all there and playing my favorite guitarist’s work. I saw Rain who are a Beatles cover band. The gimmick is they change their outfits throughout the show as the eras of the Beatles pass. The effect really sold me on this being more than just a cover band. They love this band as much as all the fans do. Then I saw Brit Floyd. That was special. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and David Gilmour along with Hendrix were my two biggest guitar inspirations. Seeing the Floyd light show and screen recreated as well as incredibly accurate versions of Pink Floyd’s music was incredible. I’ve seen Joe Bonamassa once and he was great although his mic was a little off. The last concert I went to was The Rolling Stones. Being one of my favorite bands and one of the first bands that left an impact on me, it was stunning to see these guys still doing it after all these years. It was emotional to see people of all ages there. It makes you realize (similar to the Springsteen show) how an artist can really transcend time through great music. That is my concert resumé. Nowhere near 50 but I’ve got plenty of life left in me.

The stars aligned and I got to duck out of a work trip to Croatia early to spend 24 hours in London to catch a concert with my best mate (who moved there a decade earlier). This is fun. I started doing this about 5 years ago. I was digging up the concert, openers, date, venue. I used setlist, band touring pages, friend's memories. I'm at over 100 concerts myself. I put them all on setlist and AskFM, so they're "saved" so to speak. I know I'm missing a few more too but can't track down the concert dates. Definitely an activity that makes you smile from the memories. Cheers.

A lot of these tours and shows you saw are the same ones I saw. Never even heard of them at the time and now I'm a huge fan, that concert was so powerful and intense, shock, edge crusher, linchpin, there cover of Cars was just damn. I wish they had done more that night and cancelled Monster Magnet who was terrible, singer was so wasted the guitarist had to keep pulling him back onto the stage because he'd almost walk off the edge or just fall down.

Best show seen. the White strips in a Theater that sat only about 300 people. They just hammered out song after song it was none Stop. They sounded awesome the music was just flowing over the crowd. Jack seemed to have gone into a trance playing ball and a biscuit. It was a Hendrix like moment. pure sonic bliss.

I've seen Prince live 9 times. Even flew to Vegas specifically to see him. Lovesexy was the first tour I saw. I didn't get the medley thing at first; I was way young and didn't know musically what he was doing. But I saw a German show from this tour on RU-vid a few years ago and thought "holy s--- I was at this show/tour". Zoo TV is my favorite show of all time. Still surreal with all that neural stimulation.

Best concert I’ve been to was Mastodon, KSE, and Slayer. Funniest concert was Yes, where one dude kept yelling, “Roundabout,” followed by, “Slayer!!!”

from what Ive heard, during images and words, dream theater would also do an encore song, and at least one of those times, that song was A Change of Seasons. a 20+ min epic they did around that time. wish I couldve seen that

Ah, the good old days when we could go to a ton of gigs... I used to go to 30 gigs a year, mostly to hear all the good artists while they're still around. My most memorable Top 10 rock gigs in no particular order: Bon Jovi in 2006 @ Milton Keynes UK (my first proper rock concert, lost my voice after that one), Extreme in 2009 in Boston (my fave band since teenage years, got to be front row for the live DVD recording of that gig), Steve Vai in 2008 (got to watch soundcheck and pester him with my wannabe guitarist questions), Chris Cornell, Prince x3, Foreigner (playing a 600-capacity club in 90F heat after having played large outdoor festivals just days before), Chris Rea opening for himself under the cover of darkness, U2 playing in torrential rain, Muse on their Drone tour, Velvet Revolver days before splitting up. The list could go on...

I haven’t attended too many shows, but of the ones I remember, here’s a pretty eclectic list: Pray For Rain (PFR) was a Christian rock band that specialized in Beatles-influenced rock tunes and they were wonderful. Very catchy and fun to see live. Maynard Ferguson, who was a jazz trumpeter in the 60s-70s who had many popular renditions of big tunes. His band just slayed and he was insane as always. Talk about piercing; loud guitars might be your thing, but imagine being very close to the stage while a brass-heavy band plays super loud all night! Toad The Wet Sprocket, who is my favorite band of all time, had many good concerts I attended. And finally, the British vocal group The King’s Singers. I saw them in the early 90s and we got to meet them. That was a wonderful concert!

My Bro-in-law won "Pit Passes" to Metallica off Z-Rock so we were inside their stage on the Black Album Tour in '91 in Dallas. I saw them a 2nd time in Dallas with Faith No More and GnR. This was right after James was burned by the pyrotechnics and Kirk's guitar tech/Metal Church guitarist John Marshall was playing guitar and James was just singing. Imagine that. GnR was very late getting on stage because of Axl Rose.

Wow you have seen some great bands! I also shook Peter Steele's big ass hand after seeing Type O Negative on their Dead Again tour and I too blew my chance to see White Zombie with Pantera however I did catch the Beasties at Lollapalooza in 94'. My number 1 concert was Pink Floyd 1994 on the Division Bell tour.

I saw Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon tour. Also on the bill was Motley Crue. They were supporting their Shout at the Devil Tour. I also got to see Metallica on their Ride the Lightning tour a few months later. The venue was small. It was cool to see them in such a small place.

I've always heard that Prince was just phenomenal live. My greatest live gig was Anthrax in Newcastle, Australia back in 1997 on the 'Stomp 442' tour. John Bush almost got into a fight with the security. Frankie fell off the stage. The band walked off at one point, and and Scott Ian came out to the mic and addressed the crowd. He said: "This is the craziest show we've seen since Jersey in '82..." The band then came back on and just took the roof off the place.

You have seen some great concerts. I have also seem a lot of great concerts and kinda want to compile my own list now. I hope that Rick sees this as I would love to hear his list. I don't know the other guys but if you included them, they probably have interesting lists as well. Oh, interesting note on my list. My very first concert that I ever attended was Johnny Cash. I was only a child and could not really grasp the greatness of it but nonetheless, it is a cool first concert.

Great list! However many of the band's I'm not familiar with. I'm 53 so I've seen lots of shows. Iron Maiden a few times, Ozzy 3 times. First time was Bark at the Moon at the old Boston Gahden with Motley Crue. Scorpions were great (1983?) With a band called Bon Jovi opening. Sabbath 3 times, none of which had Ozzy on vocals or Dio. The first Sabbath show was the Born Again your with Ian Gillan on vocals with Quite Riot opening. The second show had Anthrax opening. When Sabbath came on I ran into Joe Belladonna standing back in the audience watching the show- that was awesome. Third time I saw Sabbath Motorhead was the opener. Deep Purple with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals. U2 at Gillette stadium. Def Leppard was really good in concert a band called Pop-Evil opened- those dudes were freaking awesome live. Boston was an AWESOME show in (85?) On the Third stage tour. I saw Boston again in like 2018 with Cheap Trick and Styx. AC/DC twice! Flick of the Switch tour was loud. I saw an awesome double bill in 1986 -Poison with Ratt. Van Halen on the last 2 tours with Dave. Metallic twice- Black album and Load. Extreme twice! Oh yeah- Buddy Guy was cool. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators at the house of blues in Boston was awesome! I saw Guns on the Chinese Democracy tour- i call that the "Axl and Friends tour". Oh yeah Aerosmith Permanent Vacation tour! I've seen more but you get the idea. Anyway- the BEST shows! OZZY- No More Tears at the Orpheum theatre in Boston. This is a medium sized venue that feels like an old movie theatre. I was in the front row. There was no barrier between the stage and seats and the stage was about 4 feet high. I could literally reach out and touch Zakk's guitar it was like being on stage with the band. Extreme also at the Orpheum theatre was probably the BEST show I've ever witnessed. It was in support of the first full-length album with Mutha... You can never imagine the showmanship of Gary Cherone. He was up in the rafters in the building, swinging on ropes like Tarzan. It was unbelievable what he was doing. He put EVERYTHING he had in Every show! Not to mention Nuno was running back and forth to stage ramps on both sides the stage which both had Freddie Kruger posters on the front of them. And finally Nuno finished his guitar solo with the theme song from the "Flintstones". The Metallica Black Album tour was AWESOME. But I must say the Extreme show stands out as the BEST Ever! Thanks for reading..

I've been to dozens of performances of many great bands (mostly during their peak) but The Who's "Quadrophenia" anniversary tour and their show in Detroit blows any other concert I've attended out of the water. It really makes it more impressive that they were in their 70's and played for over two and a half hours.

Queensryche in '91 with Suicidal Tendencies opening was incredible. Tool was underwhelming. Death Angel playing at Shovelhead Lounge here in Central Florida January 2020 was killer! I've seen Fear Factory three times, one time opening for Maiden during Blaze Bayley era in a club. One of my favorites
