We rarely talk about how individual fruits spread around the world, but every time I come across these stories I'm always fascinated to see just how much deeper they go than I'd expected. From the mangoes of Hawaii to the apples of Aomori, the history of fruit horticulture never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks to everyone who asked about our Patreon. I'll put out a full video when I get the time, but for those who want to jump the gun and get on board from the start, here's the link: www.patreon.com/rareearth It means a huge deal that so many have asked us to start an account. I never thought anyone would watch these videos, let alone support them.

Francesco "Lets keep the cheesy outro" Petitti If he's the reason you've kept them, then Thanks Francesco. Your outro is what gives your name meaning. Rare Earth could mean so many things, and your outro plays on that, and in doing so creates ONE thing-- an overall appreciation for culture as a whole. From Japan to Africa, I can't wait to see what you do next.

The quality of this show is amazing. but if I could make a suggestion, I would say work on the thumbnails. RU-vid is all about grabbing attention or at least letting people know who's video it is. If you added a watermark to your thumb nail I think you would see a lot more views.

I feel that part of the reason that this video series is so good is due to the soundtracks for each episode. They are not overtly in your face or trying to sonically illustrate some action sequence through a barrage of sound. Instead, it is an ambient, emotion evoking pattern of textures; not getting in the way of the narrative but contributing to it from a deeper psychological level which brings a measure of dignity, honor and simple trust. The composite result is one of a very engaging story telling style that I, for one, can not seem to get enough of. Thumbs up Kevin MacLeod

Fuji apples are not "genetically modified" in sense we now use the term GMO, but were hybridized by selection for certain traits in the same way dog breeds were selected for, or the tame foxes the Russian scientist Belayev established. I am working through all of your videos now because Greg Lam (another great Canadian RU-vidr with his channel "Life Where I'm From" about living in Japan) referenced your episode on the "Untouchables" of Japan, which was great, so I watched a couple more and got hooked. My only suggestion for your channel (so far) is to include the sources from which you were informed to make each episode, because "you can't trust everything on the internet." :-)
