Good list i couldn't agree more!

Mike Patton swamps almost every singer on here in the first 2 categorys. He has had the greatest in pact on singing out of any singer in the last 25 years and he is seen as one of the skilled and unique singers of all time. Top 10 for sure

@Tasos87fgf 12 лет назад
The power, technique, range and control that Coverdale and Dio possess could make most of the singers in this video run away.

You did put in a lot of singers who are not classified as being rock singers!

Mike Patton and many like him on this list only scream, my cats are amazing singers!!!! whoa!

Hi JimMorrisonBigFan Jim is one of my favorite vocalists of all time and if this list was based on personal preference, he would be top 5. Notice that the list isn't strictly an influence/acclaim list and that it also takes in account skill and technique.

Freddie Mercury is The King Of Vocals after all! Though, I think Jim Morrison should have been rank higher, especialy since he really had a great voice, as well as great control of his voice too.
@MrMusiclists

And a good morning to you too, sir ! By the way, Sam and Ray were inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in its FIRST year. And the list is judged on Influence, Technique and Acclaim : Do you think that a list based on singing ability ONLY would feature the likes of Lennon and Morrison in the top 50 ? Take care.

Hi Timi T. Dio is more influential and possibly more acclaimed than Patton, but his influence is restricted to the hard rock/metal field (his famous operatic power wails and the metal horn for example). Patton, on the other hand, is one of the most versatile vocalists of all time, up there with Merc and Jeff Buckley: few singers can compete with him in that area. I tried to make the list as objective as possible, which means that it is the criteria that makes the rankings, not me. Take care.
@ragingbull2001
@ragingbull2001 11 лет назад
he applies pretty well to all of those areas so whats your point?

UGH fine! JUST for the sake of argument I will count all of these African American singers as rock and tell you where I would place them (roughly, it would take time to do specifics) Sam Cooke and Jackie Wilson would probably make it somewhere around #8 or #9, Ray Charles would be somewhere between 10-15, and I am not sure about James Brown
@TrueIronMaidenFan
@TrueIronMaidenFan 11 лет назад
even though he put Bruce at #15 and Geoff Tate did not even make the top 25? No list like this deserves any respect!

critical acclaim is probably one of the worst things you can use to judge a singer we would'nt put justin bieber or britney spears on this list would we?
@hefra345
@hefra345 11 лет назад
if you take away the first two aspects of your criteria mike patton would almost automatically be number 1
@hefra345

Also how could you us technique as part of the criterria and not put the buckleys at the top their life perfomances were vitually flawless and their freedom between chest and head voice was unmatched freddie wasnt hitting his high notes live as well as they were

name another vocalist that can rip his vocal chords out like morrison does in when the musics over and back door man then go straight to a crooner in crystal ship. plus van morrison isnt on this list so it isnt valid because he has more technique, influence, acclaim, power, consistency, and peer acclaim than adam lambert. you seem to try and have a list that is personal opinion but omit singers that clearly shaped rock and roll much more than singers in white snake and dio and lambert
@ragingbull2001

Truly a laughable list. I mean honestly, to start with Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Bob Seger and many others have better voices and more influence, etc. than half the people on this list. What a joke !
@MrMusiclists
@MrMusiclists 10 лет назад
Glad I was able to make you laugh sir ;) ....and can you please name the 25 singers with less influence and skill than Joel, Seger and Diamond on this list ?
@ColdOasisU2

I think this list is worse than that with the greatest artists of the last decade. Michael Bolton seriously?
@hefra345
@hefra345 11 лет назад
btw jeff buckley is better than pretty much all these singers and his father should have been number one followed by him then mike patton then freddie remeber that freddie mercury fucked his voice up with bad technique jeff never did this
@MrMusiclists
@MrMusiclists 11 лет назад
Blacks INVENTED rock and roll ! and there is not a single blues or jazz vocalist in this list : Nat King Cole, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters...now THOSE are jazz and blues vocalists. I never call anyone a racist but when there's a list of 25 vocalists supposedly representing ALL of rock's history -a genre perfectioned and popularized by blacks- yet ZERO of them are blacks then what would you possibly call it? A coincidence ?
@TrueIronMaidenFan
@TrueIronMaidenFan 11 лет назад
also what the fuck is Adam Lambert doing on this list?!?! ahead of Dio, Geoff Tate, and Mike Patton no less. He has had no influence at all, his only acclaim was on people watching a shitty singing show, and his skill is almost non existent compared to most of the singers on this list. He is also not versatile at all
@TrueIronMaidenFan
@TrueIronMaidenFan 11 лет назад
African americans did inspire rock, but they did not play rock themselves. Ray Charels? Jackie Wilson? Sam Cooke? Theese are NOT rock singers! But fine, if you want to have it your way I would add all those singers I just mentioned somewhere in the top 15, but not top 10.
@donaldrocks101103

Cool list! But Roger Daltrey, Jim Morrison, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon should be In the Top 10! But WTF? Elvis Is a terrible singer!
@MrMusiclists
@MrMusiclists 10 лет назад
You must be talking about Elvis Costello; because the Elvis Presley I know has one of the most influential, acclaimed and versatile voices in the history of music.
@donaldrocks101103
@donaldrocks101103 10 лет назад
No, I'm talking about Elvis Presley! Don't start fighting with me! I'm not one of those people who hate old music! Elvis Presley Is Just not one of my favorites! He Is MILES better than anything that came out after the early 80s!
@Susie196921
@Susie196921 10 лет назад
Every singer you mentioned admired the voice of Elvis Presley! His voice was excellent and they all wanted to be like him!

So, let me get this, no black vocalist is influential or skilled enough to feature in your top 25 ? no one ?! Huh ?
@Chicken5516

Mili at 50??? Really??? So wrong this list is. So wrong on so many levels. Name me one singer on this list who in their prime could come close to Mr. Matijevic. You can't. And where is Myles Kennedy???? Are you kidding me with Adam Lambert?

Jeff Buckley is not worthy to be number one and he is most certainly not better than all these vocalists. and Freddie Mercury did not fuck up his voice, he had an amazing voice. this video was based on personal preference so lets keep our comments to ourselves.
@TrueIronMaidenFan
@TrueIronMaidenFan 11 лет назад
Adam Lambert #23?! lets talk about this for a moment based on YOUR criteria 1.Influence? He has been around for 3 years and has barely done anything, he practically has no influence at all 2.Acclaim? He is not considered even CLOSE to being one of the best rock singers 3.Skill? He has a semi decent technique but NOTHING compared to many other rock singers INCLUDING some of the singers you put him ahead 4.He has no versatility. Please explain your logic
@DortmunderTdmt
@DortmunderTdmt 10 лет назад
no david ruffin,terence trent d'arby,prince,george michael,axl rose but roy orbison and smokey???? lol pathetic and laughable list
