Great photos. I was considering this but couldn’t get one in time for a trip to the sights of China over the last few weeks. For me the internal 50mm crop worked fine though, even at 20MP. As I needed to take a lot of shots of civil structures and buildings for work, the pincushion distortion is too much. I’m more interested in the wide angle converter for inside buildings and landscapes. On balance, the images from the standard 23mm were outstanding; especially with the Provia, Reala Ace and Velvia sims. Velvia worked really well on duller days and for landscapes like in the Three Gorges. Reala Ace was excellent on a boat trip at the Three Gorges Dam and in Shanghai at night. Overall, I used the Fuji for 85%+ of my whole trip with my Canon M5 and telephoto only needed for distant shot on the Great Wall and for long range ‘compression’ shots of mountain ranges on the Yangtze. On my last Sunday I was sitting in a very old park with beautiful buildings in Shanghai with my X100 VI on my lap having a break. A number of people asked me to take their photos on the Fuji in exchange for me taking them on their phones. The skin tones on the Fuji were far more flattering. A shame I couldn’t hand off the images to those few folk without fuss. Maybe Airdrop should be an option…. For travel in future I’ll just buy the two converters, save weight and miss 1 in 10 shots. Finally my best accessories by far were: 1 the Smallrig grip, 2 the Peak Design Cuff, 3 the Nisi HD UV filter that works with the lens cap, 4 a Haoge thumb grip. Whilst I had other stuff with me, I only needed the Haoge lens hood (and Canon protection filter to keep dust out) once in the midday sun doing cityscapes and parks. The Nisi acts as a little lens hood too.

It’s a little too much in terms of distortion but I still do like the results they’re special, I also use the peak design cuff, thumb grip and a square hood haha Thx for commenting and sharing your thoughts on this 🙏

I have the TCL I conversion lens and X100T. On the one hand it is convenient when I want the 50mm point of view. On the other hand the TCL is heavy making the body front heavy. The difference between 35 & 50mm is about one step. I control my field of view with my feet. This is cheaper than buying the TCL. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

I could see why you’re saying this but on the other hand I like the way it “dirties up the frame” for me with vignette and abbreviations and distortion

@@DanAllouche I managed to snatch one yesterday on one website, but I got an email today that for some reason I've put incorrect billing address, so they were quick to help me out and order it again. I'm still waiting for confirmation from them if everything went well and that I will have the camera on monday. I'm so excited about it!

Great video. I am looking to buy this camera as my first mirrorless camera but this is a point-and-shoot camera and the point is that I already have an iPhone 14 pro. So, don't think I need one. So, should I look into Fujifilm xt5 or xh2 since I do want the Fujifilm colours or should I go with the Sony a7c Mark II? The things I need are the compact size of the camera along with its ability to retain sharpness when cropping the images. I think the sony a7c mark ii can do it better compared to the fuji film since its a 33mp camera along with a full frame. Any suggestion on what should I choose?

The x100 is a point and shoot but that is the reason to get one, if it’s too limiting for you than I believe that a Sony a7c ii is a great option I have one and done a couple videos on it that you should watch

@@DanAllouche Sur, I will look into it as well. So can I choose a point-and-shoot like x100vi even if I already have an iPhone pro version? sorry if I am asking to many questions. it just that there is no compression video of a camera like x100vi and the iPhone pros

@@chinuonchaitanya8340 I have a 15 pro it’s a great phone and it has a pretty good camera but there’s no comparison with an x100vi or any camera with a decent lens for that matter

@@DanAllouche I see, I am getting it now. I am down to sony ac7ii or fujiflim xt5. Not able to decide which one to go for. if possible can you compare these to image quality? or which one has a better image quality in terms of sharpness as I do have a habit of croping photos. Also which one is more suitable for video recording?

@@chinuonchaitanya8340 i have the a7c and thinking of getting the X100VI. Let me share with you my thought process. Maybe it could be of help. A7c is a good camera. The sensor, AF, size, build, everything feels good. I am using it with the 50 1.2GM. So the images i get are super nice. However, the images are TOO good. The reason i want a Fuji, be it X100VI or XT5, is mainly because of the film sim. It's the main attraction for me. And for the first time since my old Casio digital camera era, comes a camera that looks and feels fun to use. And that's the important thing. Don't get me wrong though, A7c is still a good camera, just that it doesn't inspire me to shoot anywhere and everywhere and everything.

The vertical lines are all concaved. Is there a way to correct that in post?

Possibly the geometry tool in LR

There is a lens profile correction within Lightroom, I just like the way that image isn’t perfect at all with all the corrections off

@@DanAlloucheinteresting as the Canon you like and even the original EF 50 F1.8 have no distortions and are both razor sharp. The native 23mm has no real distortion so for me I’ll crop in and accept the 20MP compromise. On my testing the basic lens is razor sharp too albeit slightly less than the Canon 50mm 1.8 which I’ve used since 1988. The extra weight of the Fuji’s converter is an issue. In my case I’m thinking of the wide angle converter but that also has some minor distortions.
