The Movile cave sounds really fascinating being such an isolated ecosystem for millions of years. From the perspective of all the critters in there, that cave is the entire world and always has been. Interesting they say that heavy things resting on trees make them grow bent. I've always been impressed at the way trees in fence lines or walls actually grow around the obstructions without pushing them out of the way. I've seen bikes and even an iron bedstead perfectly incorporated into a tree, and only raised up with it, rather than pushed aside. On an even more sensitive and delicate scale, you can even find mushrooms with grass leaves incorporated in their caps, that have neatly grown around the leaves without even pushing them aside. I've always been impressed at how sensitive the growing trees and fungi must be to keep growing without disturbing the things around them.

I believe that depends on a lot of factors, but one of the most notable ones might be the fact that all of those items are made of narrow metal bars and thin metal wire or rods. Importantly, nothing larger than a tree trunk and often with enough space for branches to wrap around. Note a tree planted too close to an outdoor canopy, something that would take a lot of force to hold up, let alone push. The tree will avoid it altogether.
@spamletspamley672
@spamletspamley672 Год назад
@@devonstaggs9470 I don't get your point: most of these things were bigger than the tree/or mushroom, when it started growing, but there are also many hedgerow trees you will find with fence wires right through them. I've seen pictures on line, of bikes sticking out of trees they were supposedly lent against and forgotten, but I'd have to double check they weren't photo shopped these days. On an atomic scale, you might like to read up on the physics of policemen and their bikes, in Ireland, in Flann O'brien's surreal musings in his 'The Third Policeman'. The BBC did a very good reading of it that you should be able to find, too. :)

That's a kind of bias, if you will. These 'funky' trees are often left standing specifically because of their funky look/way they wrapped around stuff. As a non-mobile organism a tree needs to deal with what it was given/where it is growing. Additionally, they can't really choose all that well in what direction they grow to and that flexibility will differ between species. Some can deal with leaning a bit... others really can't. Gymnosperms for example are quite 'basic' when it comes to the structure of their wood. They tend to have a very clearly dominant 'tip' and can reach intense heights by going straight up. And they will grow around other stuff like crazy - because it's the only possible way to stay stable. The drawback is: these points of enclosure are a wound. They will always be a possible entry point for pathogens and a weak point in the next storm. So the plant would rather not... but has to. Angiosperms on the other hand... they will just push through rock and burst it, if they are adapted to life in a rocky place with little soil. Or just die if they prefer something more mulchy... plants come in so many versions and with so many abilities... it's pretty much impossible to say 'trees do xy' and not leave some of them out. Mushrooms are different though. The parts we see/eat are functionally more similar to fruits, not 'the main organism itself' and are pushed out within days. They grow by piling on cells on top and of course anything they'd have to 'push up' would mean more energy has to be invested... so they don't. They don't care about stability long term. So it's very different from trees. TL;DR: some do, some don't, people like them so they leave them to be happy about their exisetence.

The second batch of crooked trees that all faced the same direction...the first thing that comes to mind is an explosion leveling them all. It would produce a 90 degree bend and those trees--much smaller back then---would straighten up and continue growing after that. Younger stems are much more resilient to extreme trauma whereas an older grove would be left with a thin strip of live bark connecting the two halves.

We have that here in Colorado too. It happens mostly with the aspen trees, but now and then you'll see some pines that are that way too. There used to be lots of Krummholz near or above tree line, but most of those have been taken by tourists and commercial interests who want to make lamps, coffee tables, and other junkie stuff out of them. Lots of fun theories about the Richat structure and Atlantis. It is incredibly easy to find seashells, fishbone fossils, and other stuff all over the place there indicating that it was once underwater and the science is pretty conclusive that it was. Also, Plato wrote about Atlantis and the location he gives is pretty much right where the Richat structure is. He also talks about it being a city that was made of multiple circles with water around the circles and a great port. If you look at the structure there's a location that kinda looks like it would have been port. Further, very few archeological digs have been done there.

I NEVER ever found anything on the internet about what they were, and I never saw anything like them again, after my dad repurposed the before abandoned barrel. The creatures looked EXACTLY like in this picture. its crazy the things discovered in the earth by mining operations, what is kind of unknown and bothers me greatly is that these operations (even in Nevada) have very little public involvement. I have talked with miners that can attest to coming across vast underground caves with wondrous crystal structures that they blast through to get to what ever deposits they are going for (gold in that Nevada mine). And the companies are rarely owned by the area that is being mined. And.......ugh

I live in a forest with bent trees like that. Black Forest, Colorado is a ponderosa pine forest and the Ute indians that lived in the area purposefully shaped trees with a bend. The horizontal length of the tree before it was allowed to turn back up represented the length of a life. There are other shapes including loops that have different meanings. They are called Ute prayer trees and there are many throughout this area.

There is a theory that the "eye of the Sahara" was the site of Atlantis back when the Sahara was green and lush. It's an intriguing idea worth checking out because if the eye was once full of water it fits the description of Atlantis and there is evidence that it was.
@WokeandProud
@WokeandProud 2 года назад
He just explained in detail what it is, Atlantis was a mythical city in a story created by Plato it never existed it was a fictional place.
@Arterexius
@Arterexius 2 года назад
@@WokeandProud To add to that, the most likely contestant of Atlantis would be the Minoans as they were so far ahead of the surrounding civilizations, but they almost vanished over night, as the volcano on their main home island erupted and practically blew the entire island apart, sunk several cities and sent a tsunami across the Mediterranean, which is also the largest body of water that Plato would have known of. The Eye of Sahara would already have dried up long ago at Platos time. The story of Atlantis fits best on the disappearance of the Minoan civilization, but the vast majority of it is for sure made up. And for a good reason, as fantasy has a tendency to stay longer in peoples minds than reality. Religion is a perfect example of that.

Well if the ocean was freshwater we'd be in an eternal ice age since ocean currents wouldn't exist since they only work due to the salinity of the water which is why melting of ice caps is a big concern because if ocean currents are disrupted we could start another ice age, ocean currents transfer heat all over the world
