Facts. I like Tool's No Quarter better, but no telling what Zepp could do if they walked into the studio in their prime today to rerecord and mix the song.
I need to blink and pick my jaw up off the floor lol. I've never come across anyone who was oblivious to Led Zeppelin, and I'm too old for that kind of shock. "Black Dog" and "Whole Lotta Love" are good places to start. Jimmy Page is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, and John Bonham was amazing on drums when he was alive.
Either in a reaction or on your own, you should definitely listen to the Zeppelin version and then Tools again. Like others have said, Tool pays homage to Zeppelin but makes the song their own as only Tool can.
Dig it, Emp. Great treat for the 4th. An American band paying homage to a British classic🧐 When I listen to the Zep version I feel like I'm floating on water. With Tool's version I AM the water.
Absolutely recommend a deep dive into Zep! Start with the original version of this song, so you can appreciate how TOOL paid respect to the mighty Zeppelin while making the song their own.🍻
And welcome to the wait for new music. While they say 2nd half this year.... We've been here before. Until we see an actual release, I won't believe a god damn thing LOL.
Oh hey don’t forget The Witness a Adam Jones Gibson guitar commercial , with special guest Justin C, Danny C , it’s the greatest commercial outside Danny Carey Pneuma drum cam
Funny story: They wanted this on the Anniversary Zepp album but the problem was TOOL was so long they couldn't fit in on the album and they refused to shorten the song.
The scuttlebutt was that it was for Encomium which persists because it makes sense, however it was actually for the soundtrack to the Howard Stern movie "Private Parts". Either way, it was still cut.
Definitely check out Zeppelin. They're one of the greats. So many amazing songs, it's hard to recommend them all, so I'll only suggest the best rock/blues song of all time, which is "Since I've Been Loving You." Please check out studio versions of Zeppelin before their live work. They improvise so much live it's almost like listening to different songs...
Dude that bass with flanger and delay, possibly reverb as well, in the quiet/middle section is so fucking beautiful. But chancellor has so many beautiful basslines its hard to choose personally. But this one is definitely up there.
That was a misprint on the liner notes for Salival. King Buzzo was actually the second guitar on You Lied, not No Quarter. He was also on a bootleg version of Tool’s cover of Stranglehold from 1998.
@@jasontaboada6855 Thanx, I'll have to look into this. I just recently got my copy and was told it was the non-misprint version.I want both versions, because Tool geek lol, and you may have just saved me from buying 2 identical ones. I have the dvd version btw. I'll prolly end up with a vhs copy too, theres still room on my Tool shelf.
Really hyped for A Perfect Circle. Cant go wrong with any of their albums. Mer De Noms, their debut, is a masterpiece; So is their sophomore effort Thirteenth Step. Eat the Elephant, their most recent, is also great. eMOTIVe is a cover album but good too. So yeah, hyped for u to start the APC journey! As for puscifer, pretty cool, they have a few gems, but could never really get into them
Sadly, I'm a little skeptical about them doing much recording the second half of this year, because Danny is going to be touring pretty extensively with the "Beat" tour that he's doing with Steve Vai and some of the guys from King Crimson
Ok.. I swear I'm not into dudes, but God damn how you manage to look so good in every vid...? Handsome man 😎 More from LZ? Sure. I think you will like Kashmir
dazed and confused is one of my fav by led zeppelin, definitely check out zeppelin version, theres a blues band that did it fist cant remember there name. i forgot to message you back about the door's I would say " riders on the storm" is one that would be good for to start from I think.
I love everything that Maynard’s done, but I didn’t like how he started sounding like Ekart Tolle around all the beauty of Lateralus, from there on out…no matter how awesome it is, I just can’t feel it like the stuff up to there. I felt Judith, hard…I felt Ænema hard…but then I guess I just went dark, and he went light, so I couldn’t hear him as well…inside, you know…in the world of our baby feelings.
