@@lindaharrison3240 well, that is why we shouldn't play with sin while we're alive. We don't know when that day will come. I'm not proud of what it took me to get there...I'm just grateful that God showed me such grace and patience.

Also grieving over sin because it grieves God is a better motivator to not sin rather than killing sin because of its consequences

And so is lordship salvation erroneously and heretically spews a worksbased false hope and another gospel! Their faith isn't on Christ and on His Promises Victory and Sufficient Finished Work of the Cross! Their faith is on false hope.. in themselves. They may know and believe Salvation is of the Lord, and that it's the Free Gift of His Grace thru our Faith in Jesus Christ His Son, but faith-wise deny this and the Scripture which says that the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable; its all for God His Son and Their Glory, not us! God Saves He Keeps. Election is Biblical and Hallelu Yah for the Living Hope of glory is Christ In Us!

Many women also struggle with this sin as well as men - which is rooted in lust. God wants to set you free and that freedom will come by the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit which is the power source and "Helper" God has given us - so we can have victory over any sin that has a stronghold in our lives! Devote yourself to prayer and fasting and persevering in Faith and don't give up. God will keep turning your heart to love Him more than the sin. But He wants you to know that you do not have to walk in shame or condemnation, because His grace through Jesus death has covered all our sins. Every time you sin, apply 1 John 1:9 like a dose of medicine. Satan will harass you, mock and accuse you. But God wants you to hold on to Romans 8:1 also. But you have to want to be free and by faith, God will set you free! Romans 8:1"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

Hi, what helped me understand the battle with lust better is a video on RU-vid titled 'Fighting Lust' from 'Desiring God.' Highly recommend you search it up. His description makes so much sense: it's ultimately about Faith(we are prone to sin when we don't actually see God as God) and this aligns with glorifying God-when I first heard this it blew my mind how it all links together. He says in the video: "The way to fight lust is by feeding faith with the knowledge of an irresistibly glorious God." His solution aligns with C.S. Lewis's famous quote: “It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

I feel you. It’s a constant struggle. I’m guessing you also have a high drive. I’ll keep you in my prayers as I can completely understand your struggle.

I used to struggle with this so much. I took the verse Matthew 18:9 and internalised it. Then put measures in place that would lead me to that sin. For example phone blockers or avoiding certain music/movies you have to be transparent with yourself to know exactly what your triggers are and pray for strength whilst putting measures in place. Some days I struggle more than others especially when I’m ovulating but we can do all things through Christ 💕

@@MoonlitShoreWalk That I feel mixed. I believe in the Bible in terms of being historically true. But I don’t have “faith” in the sense that God will help me when I ask/need. Anytime I think something might be an answer (advice through others/book/suggested RU-vid video, some opportunity, etc.) there’s always some caveat to why it isn’t applicable to me or the opportunity doesn’t pan out. You can only ask for help for so many years without becoming jaded. And it’s not like I’m asking for material goods like specific amounts of money or even specific jobs or what have you. But guidance on where to take my life or to become (or how to become) more optimistic and whatnot. Granted, I’m not really great at practicing, so maybe that’s my fault. But I get annoyed/jealous that non-believers that have extremely less/no connection, will have some sort of “come to Jesus” moment with a clear pivot point in their lives. Meanwhile, my faith is shaky and could use some kind of definitive point (especially for how pessimistic I am in general) but it doesn’t come. It feels like because I grew up in a Christian household I should “know better” and thus don’t need the attention to be won over like non-believers.

@@mrshmuga9 you may already know this, but there is a difference between historical belief/general knowledge that God is real and the Bible is true, and knowing, personally, the God OF the Bible. If you *know* Him, you are His child, a joint heir with Christ, have bold access to the throne of grace (not by your own merit, but by the righteous blood Jesus shed on your behalf so you could stand before God justified), have the Holy Spirit living inside you to be your guide, counselor, instructor, interpreter, encourager, and even to pray on your behalf when you can't find the words to say. There is no substitute for being a child of God, a true follower of the Messiah. So I ask you, not knowing the details of your background, upbringing, etc., do you *KNOW* the Lord Jesus Christ personally? Have you repented of your sins, confessed that He alone is Lord and Savior, and surrendered your life and all that you are to Him? If so, you are a believer, and may just need to walk more closely with Him in order to feel His presence and see Him at work in your life. If not, then the first and most important step you need to take is to become a believer by doing/truly believing the aforementioned things, and receiving salvation from God through the righteous blood of His Son. Either way, I'm available to help, encourage, and answer any questions you may have (to the best of my ability, according to His will) to aid you in your pursuit of God.

I'd counsel read the book of Job, read it again between lines as inspiration, it starts with Job in the land of Uz, many believe Uz is 'land of counsel' .. . Would also add, for what it's worth, you find a place, somewhere only you really know, then fast and get deep in to the be still, as silent as the mind can be, and ask again the really big questions of life before God, even if it takes several attempts. It doesn't come there and then, it's usually in the what comes next. ..

I'm an introvert too, and I don't think it's weird, but we still need to be careful not to isolate - too much, anyway. 😉 Introverted means feeling energized/recharged in solitude, but we can't use that as an excuse not to fellowship with other believers, go into the world and share the gospel, etc. Also keep in mind that while you may not feel like you need other people in your life, other people may need you, or God may want to use you in someone else's life. An extrovert may find it difficult to get quiet time alone with God, while for us that might come naturally lol; but an extrovert might find sharing the gospel comes naturally, while for introverts it may be more of a struggle. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It's okay to be wired either way, as long as we're not allowing our natural tendencies to hinder obedience to God.

@MoonlitShoreWalk Yes, I perform best when it's just me and jesus. When I do hang out with other people I get physically exhausted but I know it's something that god wants me to work on.

What is your solution exactly? All you said was “don’t do it” and “repent”. People try, it’s not as simple as that or no one would have these sorts of problems. The first step is admitting it (to yourself or someone) so you see it as a problem to correct. And how would you even “protect the injured”? If the person is single, what are you gonna do, ask the person who they were looking at, and trying to find that “victim” to… say condolences to? And if they are in a relationship, do you really think it’s your place to butt in? How would you even “support” that affected partner? It’s not like they were physically abused and you can offer them to stay at your house. Unless the person has experience dealing with that they can relate to that partner, there really isn’t any kind of “support” you can offer.

Yes dear sir …. just as Jesus said go and sin no more. That’s what the power of the holy spirit is for versus human effort . The Holy Spirit never fails . And again the struggle related to the thoughts while being changed can be part of the process of daily repentance and is different than physically giving in and acting out sinful thoughts because a person would rather do that than resist. No one really likes to be told they have the God given power to resist if they aren’t truly ready to repent. We justify when we just want to choose to do what we want because we love ourselves more than God at that moment.

And you need to watch condemning and judging Alan who is trying to help brothers and sisters in Christ. Maybe you are stronger than some, but the scripture says in James 5:16: "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." Be part of the solution, not the problem!

Coming from a female that has no idea what it feels like when the prostate gets filled up. I struggle everyday, even as a 44 yo man to contain. It’s not just as simple as a couple days of hormones to suppress (ovulation); for us, once it builds up, every day feels like an ovulation. So instead of judging our struggles pray for our strength in the LORD

I had a pastor explain to me the difference between introvert and timid. An introvert is someone who prefers to be around small groups of people and takes longer to recharge from being with lots of people. Someone who is timid is not courageous and someone who is not courageous migth not even accept Jesus in the first place (prefering comfort). Revelation 21:8 says the timid won't inherit the Kingdom.
