I think that's a bit of a stretch given how some people are literally unable to to achieve said talents due to physical, mental, emotional, or even social limitations. For example; I would absolutely love to learn how to drive a car but because of my mental health and inability to focus very long? I would probably be just as bad as spongebob on the road. As for talent? Yeah I would love to learn to sing in Spanish but to do that? I need to learn conversational spainish then memorize the words to where it's on Par with my native language English. And because of my learning and focusing issues? Yeah that's never going to happen. Hell I only know one song in a completely different language but that's because my sister taught it to me when she was dating her ex.
@@benedict0902 Oh. Well then that's a choice. So personally I'd say "unwillingness" rather than "inability". Inability makes it sound like it's not within Patrick's control or choice. But unwillingness is more accurate because Patrick has been shown to be good at stuff. He just chooses not too.
Lust: Spongebob/Pearl Pride: Sandy/Squilliam Sloth: Patrick Wrath: Squidward Gluttony: Gary/Mrs. Puff Envy: Plankton Greed: Mr. Krabs The devil, who brought the sins to Bikini Bottom: the Flying Dutchman The God: King Neptune
I would say Mrs Puff is more wrath than Gluttony because she literally despises SpongeBob so extremely that she jokes about killing him or herself all the time.
So does Squidward. Literally everyone around Spongebob other than Sandy and Patrick hate him. Squidward, Mrs. Puff, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton hate him lol
I remembered I had this SpongeBob trivia book I found in a Goodwill about maybe 6 years ago, and from what I remembered, the book had a chapter that actually mentioned the seven deadly sins. They assigned each character with the sin that corresponds to their personalities.
Ain’t that the truth but you should see the kids at my school. I don’t even wanna think about what sexual things the girls and the gay boys think about doing to me. It gives me the creeps, well the gay boys thinking about having sexual interactions with me gives me the creeps, the girls certain ones I’d gladly let them do whatever they wanna do with me tbh I mean c’mon they sexier than a Hooters girl!
Not really. There are several problems with this. One in order for him to be the devil he cant have existed in a physical form. The fact he died disproves this. Add to this since Neptune is king of the sea this takes place in roman mythos, the roman ruler of the underworld is Pluto. Sending only bad fish to davy jones locker would not work as all creatures are sent to the underworld, its tarterous (the lowest points of the underworld) where bad people went.
Although this theory is good. I dont necessarily believe in the gluttony theory for Mrs.Puff. We see very little scenes of mrs puff eating. As for what you said about her eating diet cake, everyone has times where they have something sweet to eat, so that could've just been a personal craving. As for the apple, yeah she ate it one bite, but apples are healthy. Also in the ferral friends episode, they turned into fish with natrual instincts of real fish, so of course they were trying to eat everyone without thought, on that note everyone was eating each other.
Gluttony also applies to being a horder of things, perfect for puff since she is a kleptomaniac and literally hoards what she's stolen. Where greed is wanting to aquire more wealth, gluttony is more in tune with wanting to aquire things they can be seen as similar hence why I mentioned it
I don’t really see SpongeBob as a being of Lust, mostly because Lust is more than just “having a strong sexual desire” or “I love everyone.” Lust as a sin is defined as “seeking sexual experiences for personal pleasure.” SpongeBob is a character who doesn’t spread love to everyone just for himself, he clearly does it for other people. Plus, sexual desire is kind of redundant for a being that reproduces asexually. Pearl makes much more sense as Lust, especially because she isn’t a very.. selfless person so to speak.
I’d like to 2nd this theory with another cartoon that does exactly this! Bob’s Burgers 1. Lust: Tina Belcher - In the show, Tina is often depicted as having a strong interest in romance and a desire for physical affection. She frequently fantasizes about romantic encounters and exhibits behaviors associated with lust. 2. Gluttony: Gene Belcher - Gene has a love for food and indulges in it frequently. He is often seen eating large quantities of food and enjoys experimenting with unique culinary creations. These traits align with the concept of gluttony. 3. Greed: Mr. Fischoeder - Mr. Fischoeder, the landlord of Bob's Burgers, is portrayed as greedy throughout the series. He is constantly trying to find ways to make more money and often prioritizes his own financial gain over the well-being of others. 4. Sloth: Linda Belcher - Linda is known for her laid-back and easy-going nature. She often takes a relaxed approach to life and avoids exerting herself unnecessarily. She is often seen lounging on the couch getting wine drunk. 5. Wrath: Louise Belcher - Louise is depicted as being mischievous, cunning, and sometimes prone to outbursts of anger. She enjoys pulling pranks and causing chaos. 6. Envy: Teddy often admires Bob's close-knit family and their relationships, wishing for something similar in his own life 7. Pride: Bob Belcher - Bob takes great pride in his burgers and his craft as a restaurateur. He is often seen defending his burgers, maintaining high standards, and refusing to compromise on the quality of his food.
Lust - Spongebob, obviously obsession with squidward. And care everything in binki bottom. Pride - Sandy, always make herself smart than everyone in binki bottom, by her ideas. Sloth - Patrick, lazy and even acts like a jerk sometimes. Only eats and sleeps, really do nothing at all. Wrath - Squidward, gets really angry at spongebob and Patrick, when they keep getting in his house. Gluttony - Gary, gets hungry, there a running gag when spongebob says "time to feed gary". Envy - Plankton, jealous of mr. Krabs because he owns a money making restaurant than his dead beat restaurant. Greed - Mr. Krabs, obviously he cares about money more than everyone, even his own daughter or family.
I disagree with the mr. krabs one, in the literal last episode of season 1 titled hooked, he tries to warn spongebob and patrick and stop them from playing on the hooks, he also at the beginning of the episode ran into his restraunt shouting that the fishers are back. Then he and squidward decided, in attempt to stop him they used what he loves to scare him.
When you think bout it, Bikini Bottom is literally in a Cold War. It’s King Neptune (The USA) with the background fish (NATO) vs the Flying Dutchman (the Soviet Union) and the 7 main characters. (The Warsaw Pact)
Although we can view Spongebob as a good person because of the Verse "Love the unloveable" which Spongebob shows very often. So, its not Spongebob as lust, but Pearl.
Lust really is just an intense passion or love for something/someone its not always sexual and its not always a bad thing to be associated with the sin of lust. Spongebob loves everything and everyone with hardly a single hate in the world unconditionally to the point of creepy sometimes.
@@fancymustache3793 facts. Also and this is coming from a guy who has hanged around lustful girls and who has also fought with the Devil and got down on his level many times before, I can agree 100000000% as I have seen it in person face to face, and I have even had a intense love/passion for a personal thing, not in a sexual way of course.
I love Squidbob theories, but I can't stop thinking in the creepiness of moving to the same street and working on the same place your crush works in. When it comes to Pearl's birthday, the episode ends with Mr. Krabs threatening gesture like if he was about to punch SpongeBob. It's possible Mr. Krabs didn't have all the money of all the gifts in his account. SpongeBob used a credit card, so Mr. Krab owned interest payments as well. I wonder if Mr. Krab returned all the gifts minus the band concert and made SpongeBob pay this last gift. SpongeBob doesn't need money to work and he is very rich. He has money to pay a house, the Krusty Krab, a futuristic boat that didn't require a driver, all the clocks of a store, etc, etc. So, it's very likely SpongeBob agreed to pay all Pearl's whims. Like a sugar daddy. 😂 All these words to ask you if you think Pearl is Mr. Krabs sugar baby, which is a very popular Internet theory. Mrs. Puff might be very lustful as well. It's possible she failed SpongeBob driving test because she didn't want to stop seeing and making love with him. I've read this theory as a joke in a comment but it was deleted. Mr. Krabs can be mashochistic (bad written on purpose) since he is dating a dangerous woman. There's one episode Mr. Krabs invites Mrs. Puff to dinner at home. Squidward and SpongeBob have to prepare the dishes, but SpongeBob ends accidentally inside the oven, Squidward serves him accidentally to Mrs. Puff and she eats him not so accidentally. Also, in My Two Krabs Mrs. Puff says she likes chum smell. So, Mrs. Puff gluttony is canon. Squidward and Plankton are very proud as well. One about his art and the other about his plans to destroy the world. I don't think the Flying Dutchman wants to rule the sea. I believe he just wants to take souls of sinners and he isn't the only ghost who does it in Bikini Bottom as shown in Money Talks. There isn't any evidence of Flying Dutchman tempting people to sin. Neptune may have created sins if the created Bikini Bottom citizens from fishes. He is not good. Happy New year and see you soon!!!
That episode where they argue about land creatures or sea creatures being better seems to be a reference to that old quote “if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree you will forever think it’s stupid” from Einstein
it's pretty obvious that Pearl is experiencing an intense case of wish fulfillment in the episode A Whale of A Birthday and the infamous Prom episode. Given her upbringing? Its not unheard of. I mean her dad is a massive cheapskate and he literally puts in next zero effort to help. I'm honestly amazed at how child protection services hadn't been called so she'll be better taken care of. In a few episodes she's shown taking jobs of her own accord to pay for herself; something her father is elated by even saying that her food, clothes, and education are trivial. So I don't think it's really fair to put her in the category of lust given her circumstances.
In the Plankton! episode audio commentary the creators confirm this theory, so yeah the main characters do represent the seven deadly sins it's always been that way
I think spongebob is supposed to be a angel among a bunch of sinful people, he always does the right thing and almost never does anything wrong but he does has moments of anger which even angels had
Coming from someone who has fought with the Devil and got down on his level but never gave in which made him give up on me, this is VERY true. How I know it’s true is because of one man, God.
Ima try to guess before watching the video SpongeBob: lust Patrick: gluttony Squidward: envy Mr.Krabs: greed(odviouslly) Sandy: pride Plankton: wrath Gary: sloth Edit: bruh I only got 3 right😭
Im a bit skeptical about the Ms.Puff part i think she is pretty much wrath even neptune's moon "devolves" every fish so im assuming she lost all form of common sense and forgetting the fact she was dating her prey she attacks him on pure animalistic behaviour.
Its basically the way he kinda talks, The way he introduces the theories, And kinda the whole layout of the video, But this channel doesn't deserve hate!
I was expecting Patrick being Gluttony while Gary being Sloth. Since Patrick literally alway is hyper only to become more hyper when he sees delicious foods, while Gary is just an annoying meow snail at his owner aka spongebob's home most of the time possibly just sleeping after eating the food.
Okay so i thought that spongebob being lust is pretty reasonable but just because this scene 3:28 i now definetely believe spongebob is lust now bc its sus
major miss for me as an a kid and adult is the fact that sponge-bob appears in his underwear in the opening scene that highly inappropriate in a kids show alot of nudity throughout the series as a matter of fact ye they are sea animals but they wearing clothes for a reason. Not to mention how sexualized sandy is
It's tough because a good bit of them could fall into a few categories. Patrick is definitely sloth (he won a trophy for doing absolutely nothing longer than anyone) or gluttony. SB is most likely pride. Not much explaining needed Squidward could be envy vs squilliam fancy son or wrath pretty easily as well. On second thought Plankton is easily envy or wrath as well due to Mr Krabs secret formula and wrath towards most people in Bikini Bottom for not getting his way. Mr. Krabs is 100 percent greed. No doubt. Not sure about the others. Guess I'm gonna have to watch and find out.
That's so weird... It seems like you put on them every sin not suitable to them as possible... Spongebob will be lust Patrick is gluttony Squidward is sloth Krabs is greed Sandy is pride Plankton is envy Ms puff is wrath
Spongebob's sin is lust cause he loves and is obsessed with everything Patrick's sins are Gluttony and sloth cause he's lazy and he eats a lot Sandy's sin is pride cause she claims to be smart and hates when people call her dumb Mr krabs' sin is obviously greed cause he only cares about money and himself Plankton's sin is envy cause he's jealous of mr krabs And Squidward's sins are wrath and greed, cause he's a rageoholic, hates everything and cares no one but himself
Before seeing this vid I tried guessing what character fit the specific sin Mr.Krabs: Greed- self explainitory Plankton: envey- Also self explaintory Squidward: Pride- thinking hes better than everyone in bikini bottom to the point he moves to a different town, tone def thinking his music is buetifull, and just generally looks down on people Patrick: Gluttony- Mans eats any and everything hardly ever seeming to have a limit spongebob:Lust- explained in vid so atleast we matched Sandy: Wrath- Always open to getting into fights being one of the strongest characters in the show and her being easly angered when Texas is sullied Gary: Sloth- There war very few episodes in which we se gary being way more capable of doing things like speech but for the most of the shows run time gary chooses to just be pet that gets fed and not do much during the day. Either way good vid
6:45 literally my Pakistani friends when I say America has the world's best military and/or Russia is the biggest country and/or other countries have way more inflation and we should stop taking it as such a big deal and be thankful for who we are
I don’t like how you are blatantly ripping off Alex Bale’s format, good theory none the less. Also I might be dumb and he might’ve given a reason why he does it, but I wait for somebody to respond to this comment.
"Patrick's house is literally made out of sand, showing no dedication whatsoever." Bro literally made a working tv out of sand, show him some respect for his hard work, please.
@@mrpolarbear3975 hes not trying, he straight up copied the thumbnail from a teaser alex posted on Twitter. It's not even like no one else can make spongebob theories but this guy is trying very hard to be another alex
Mr Krabs being greed was pretty obvious to me, as he just loves money. A example is in one of the SpongeBob movies, when asked why he open a new restaurant right next to the original, he just replied one word, money
If the Flying Dutchman represents the Devil... Then King Neptune represents God. They both are all powerful, Kind, but will bring justice, both have a Son, and both have fabulous beards
The reason while Pearl represents the sin "Lust" more than SpongeBob its because she's a stereotypical teenage girl who is obsessed with some handsome dudes or its just me who thinks it. Edit: And also she likes boy bands as well...
