Thanks for sharing! Does the same A/T logic apply to a 737 (the Asiana PIC was converting from a 737)? Of course, the type rated pros should be aware of the systems and how they work, but I find it a bit weird to have A/T armed and subsequently get no response to an airspeed decay. If the Boeing's philosophy is to have pilots in control of an aircraft, then they should require to place hand on the motorized throttle levers to sense what the A/T is doing during a critical phase of flight (see the failed go around at Dubai)...

Why not just have ALL automation. including A/T. go to full off when the A/P is shut off ?

Title for the video is incorrect!, using FLCH is not a trap, loosing situational awareness is what makes you go into a trap!.

What would make it a trap is the pilots not guarding their throttles but you do have a point, it can confuse people operating the aircraft.
