The game looks really well designed, although the fact that after a few times you will know the layout of the islands and where to find what you need subtracts a little from the replayability. As for the Gourmet card adding 1 additional card to the deck I'm pretty sure it's not because of your comments about the food's flavor, but instead for the additional nutritional value and flavor the food will have when you prepare it with the knowledge you have.
There are some alternative cards for the terrain. So even if you think, there is a tile with easy accessible wood, it is possible that this tile is full of snow in your next play.
this is one game I was waiting for without knowing I was ;) - really great concept, especially the save and restore any time you want. And the art looks great, too!
I recently obtained this game from their warehouse sale. We played for a few hours before I watched your demo. Good clarification for things we need to do!
A few things I think were missed this video: -When multiple people work on an action together and they fail, they all have to take a Paranoid state card in addition to whatever the consequences for failure were for the action. -If you have to take a state card but you already have it, you still discard cards from the action deck but you don't take the duplicate state card into your hand.
At 22:00 wouldn't you need to draw zero cards with you helping since it would lower the number drawn by 1 and increase the stars need by 1, and the stack itself lowers the drawn cards by 1 and provides one success?
Also, at 24:15, shouldn't he have had to tick down the pip counter to 4 instead of 5? He used the Weaved Cord to make the fire and the Panpipes to reduce its cost. Even though they're stacked, I believe each one counts as an item being used.
At 28:48 you said that either of you could take the Bookworm card. I believe that only Jen's character can take the Bookworm (that's why it has her character's image on it)
The one thing I feel like I don't understand is when you explore the mountain range or the island with the key symbol in the center tile, what happens when you succeed? You didn't really clarify if there is a deck labelled for each symbol that is taken randomly, a specific card labelled for the specific tile and symbol that was searched, or if it just gives some random item/thought/etc.
it's been 2 years since i played the prototype, but IIRC you 'unlock' the key by flipping the over the card, reading the story text, and doing what it says (usually digging through the deck to reveal some other cards and placing them in the world)
Rahdo, did you use the Print and Play version or did you receive a different prototype version? And also, have you ever played Dungeon Fighter? Do you intend on doing a Runthrough? Thank you for all the great videos!
So I stopped myself from watching this when first uploaded because I backed the game. But they wait is TOO long. so I decided to watch. I will have to forget specific details when it comes out
+rahdo Not correct. As written here, only the character pictured can take and use it. Even when assisting, only the person is allowed to take it in the first place. boardgamegeek.com/thread/1437525/adventurers-guide-chapter-6-school-hard-knocks
+rahdo just now also searched for it in the alpha rule book they released and haven't found it there. Posting at BGG in a minute so that they won't forget about it. So good question +The Last Phoenix !
Is it really possible to choose one of the discarded face up cards like he wanted to do in the beginning in order to not become tired? Seems wrong as you can already see the amount of stars/successes on that card.
