Buying rice and keeping for 6 months doesn't make it old rice. To make the rice old, it should be stored with husk (before milling) inside the rice paddy straw. The way of storing the rice changes from region to region. When you store like this only the rice becomes old. If you buy polished rice and keep at home for anytime, it wont make it old.

As far as the bad food combination or habit is in moderation and has been built over years of time , starting from the much younger age, it would not be harmful. But at the age of 25 you decide to start curd rice at night. That surely will be detrimental to your health.
