23:50 - Trivia: Bill Hudson was married to Goldie Hawn (before Kurt Russell came along) and Oliver & Kate Hudson are their kids. He'd go on to marry Cindy Williams, Shirley of Laverne and Shirley until divorcing in 2000. After this film, and their failure to launch as film stars, they mostly work behind the scenes: Bill would go on to compose music for TV programs, Brett became a film and TV producer/writer, and Mark became a music producer/songwriter, co-writing Aerosmith's "Livin' on the Edge" for example.
my TOP 10 horror from 1983: Sleepaway Camp House of the Long Shadows A Night to Dismember The Deadly Spawn Strange Invaders Psycho II Xtro Frightmare The Boxer's Omen Curtains
Have a love-hate with Curtains. It was going so well and then just sort of meandered and fell off. Then I read about its troubled production and my confounded reaction at the messy result made sense. This may be one of those rare cases where I think a remake is warranted. It has all the ingredients to be a much better film!
Was trying to remember where I knew the name Worth Keeter from. Then it hit me. He was the director of the movies Unmasking the Idol and its sequel, Order of the Black Eagle. Both were covered by RedLetterMedia and I'll just say four words: baboon driving a tank. Also, there's a stuntman that gets his head run over by a four-wheeler in OotBE and it is left in the movie. That tank driving baboon was also in Cronenberg's The Fly, by the way.
Josh, are you going to mention Dutch horror movie De Lift. As a Dutch man I really like it. It was released in May 1983. It was directed by Dick Maas, who later in the 80s made horror movie Amsterdamned (I think the title could be different in the US, because of the damned). As far as I know it was the first horror movie in The Netherlands. I never saw the Dick Maas remake Down made for the US market in the 2000s (I HATE remakes).
@@movietimelines no thank you sir. Your vids have helped me maintain my sobriety for several years now. trying to give back even a small bit to all my favorite creators!
I can't explain why but Videodrome always bores me. Blood Beat though, for whatever reason, is so entertaining for me. Weird and very unique. For those who like supporting physical media, the Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray is fantastic. Curtains is just really awesome. I love everything about this film. The Synapse release is highly recommend
Giving A night to dismember 3 tapes, are you insane?? It's the worst movie I have ever seen and I have seen probably several thousand movies large part of them horror. Insulting stock music, awful lighting, low grade film stock that look like the color of ass, narrator from hell, dreadful special effects, makes movies like Cannibal Terror look like a masterpiece. Your trash tolerance is incredible, I truly solute you. Anyone that can enjoy this film deserves to get 2024 optimism award.
@@torarinvik4920 it ironically looks fun, I seen worse then this. Ever seen bloodsucking babes from Burbank. That makes night to dismember look like Citizen Kane
@@magicalpasta5462 I have to see that one. What's special about A night to dismember is that it's a professional movie. All these movies like "Hip-hop locos" and "Things" are backyard amateur movies even though Things got legit release.
@@torarinvik4920 the plot of bloodsucking babes, basically girls rub dollarstore gems on themselves that cause them to be cannibals but the effects look like they only spent five dollars on it
