I like to observe and take in as much information as I can. After processing the information, I then decide how to proceed. If it's in a group setting, I think it's smart to discuss options with the group as well.

I noticed this question - a good one, that comes up frequently. Following my model of resilience and "The Path" is a way to prepare oneself for difficult times and situations. Getting good at anything takes practice. In the case of pressure situations that turn on the stress response and activate the body, it's important to practice some form of relaxation - which is an opposite response to activation. So handling pressure situations involves two primary processes: 1. Mindset: framing the situation as a challenge rather than a danger, or problem or difficulty. The way you frame a situation determines the direction your mind and body go. A challenge is something to embrace with the intention of learning how to deal with the situation, rather than approaching it reluctantly or negatively. Second is making sure to practice the relaxation response. This training puts you in a better position during stress.
