This was the first ever upside-down ride I went on. Sad to see how it turned out, this ride was awesome !

The Klondike Gold Mine was the first rollercoaster with an inversion I ever rode and it was horrendous. It took me nearly 15 years to get the confidence to go on another coaster with inversions and now I can't get enough of them! More videos about Drayton Manor please!

Unbelievable that you should do this video now, I only found the channel in last 2 weeks & it's awesome. I live around 4 miles from Drayton Manor in Sutton Coldfield. I used to go loads as a kid, but haven't been for around 10 years. During my current obsession with coasters I was amazed to read that this ride had closed in the time that I haven't been & wondered why. The Python used to bash your head between the restraints so much, I almost expected to have boxers cauliflower ears. Shockwave is a great ride, the drop tower too but I'll always have memories of going on the SkyFlyer, the original Pirate Ship, The Pirate Adventure, The Buffalo & The Tea Cups with my mom. In fact, I'm gonna call her tomorrow to reminisce. Thanks for the great footage!

G Force was the first-ever rollercoaster I ever rode with inversions. It was so uncomfortable that it put me off rollercoasters for 8 years and I still can't bring myself to ride anything with inversions. I think not having shoulder restraints made the ride so uncomfortable and terrifying to me, as I felt like I would slip out and fall to my death, especially on the lift.

I heard music from kingdom hearts 2 in there. From the Mulan area I believe.

Though it did have a new lift that was new and interesting, it wasn't as cool as say, the first vertical loop, which was quite "revolutionary"

I’ll never forget going on a school trip here and having a classmate pass out on this ride! Lol. They had to call the paramedics in, luckily he was alright and it was just procedure but safe to say we never let him live it down lmao 😂

Cosmo! G-Force was alright. I only went on it a couple of times a few years back but I found the seats good, comfier than almost every other coaster I have been on. It was just too short and in a park that can't compete on the big scale rides due to its small park layout, so ofcourse it died :(

One could say that Drayton Manor is pulling an American Adventure, which is a shame, because that park pretty much made my childhood.

There is an X car coaster called the X Coaster in magic springs and Crystal falls in hot springs Arkansas. I always had such a hard time breathing from that restraint system! It was a sky loop model and each time the train flew through the station the restraints got tighter and tighter. Then it took forever for the cars to get lowered back down into the station off the chain lift

I LOVED this coaster so much, rode it so many times and honestly will miss it! So much fun and never painful for me!! The humpty bump lift is something I’ll never forget, wish more rides had it tbh amazing lol

Personally I love Drayton Manor. Been on all the big rides. I liked G force, was a decent coaster, nothing special but decent. Stormforce however is one of the best wet-rides in the UK for my money

How interesting. I wasn't aware that the Rip Ride Rockit coaster in Universal IOA was an XCar. I knew I didn't like the way the restraints made me feel. Now I know why. I was a season pass holder at IOA for 4 years and didn't even ride that coaster for the last 2 years. It's just not fun and the restraints are very uncomfortable. It's certainly worth riding at least once or even a few times in one's life, but that XCar needs some serious work . Another great vid. Thanks for posting.

I rode this only a year and half or so ago and I didn’t even know it was closed now! It was really fun as a ride, except I used to sit next to my mum and that one waist bar would only close to her size and during the pause at the top of the inversion I always felt like I was slipping out haha! Wouldn’t be the UK if the rollercoasters didn’t always feel a little sketchy! Still, a great ride

I can remember going to drayton manor with mum and auntie in about 2006/7. The restraint actually put me off of this ride as the thought of being held in by a single lap bar, whilst going through that first loop scared the absolute shit out of me. Need to wait for my kids to be tall enough and take them to alton towers

"Unthemed Silver Shed" was always my favorite station themeing in RCT2.

my grandad worked driving the trains in thomas land and would always get me free tickets when i was younger. g force was my absolute favourite ride as a kid!

I'm a "big" guy. I got to sit in the rig that demonstrated the lap bar. It was comfortable for me. Over the shoulder (makes me claustrophobic) I miss going to IAAPA.

I only stop by for the wonderful theme tune at the start but always stay till the end..i could watch these all day absolutely brilliant..

I went on this coaster. I remember it being short and quite painful while upside down

I rode this 3 times at 3 different times visiting. Had no idea it closed down. It was the first proper roller coaster I had the guts to go on. I remember one time I had the worst neckache for days after riding.

Huh, didn't even realise it was closed! I wasn't a massive fan of this one to be honest. It was a good ride, but the constant inversions just made me feel sick. Drayton Manor isn't too bad I suppose, it's fine for a family day out. The water rides are the best though

I rode it during an organized amusement park tour back in 2006, and will not miss it, especially with the restraint tightening as the ride progressed. Breathing is overrated. The other two X-Car coasters I have been on (the launched Formule X in the Netherlands and Rip RIde Rocket at Universal) were both more enjoyable to ride.

It's weird to think back then that used to be my first ever extreme roller coaster I've ever ridden.

Sadly a very horrible ride, not long left until DM becomes just Thomas land & zoo. Rapids have never reopened and with this closing, the big wheel, pirates adventure it's only a matter of time till they go the same way as American Adventure. 😪

Actaully I have a little update! I found your video after I searched up roller coasters for sale, and this coster is now indeed for sale!

I rode the prototype in the skylinepark wich feels like hundreds of times. Always a pleasue, smooth, high G forces and a wonderful view upside down. The only sad thing is, that the tightening lap bar problem seems to never got fixed. A couple of times, the breaks wich lock the car on the lifthill to slowly descent it into the station for loading didn't catch the car, so we were going backward and forwards for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then another 10 to 15 minutes to lock the car to the chain, so that the sensors detect a safe position and unlocks the restrains. I usally say: Nice, more ride time, but the bars really can make breathing difficult. Especially when your stuck in there for about 30 minutes. It can't really get extended in the parks current state. Theres no space left. The Freischütz coaster in the bayern park is another X-Car from M&S, but with a launch instead of a chainlift. These two coasters are perfect to show the variety possible with it. Thank you for the aditional informations.

2:30 Love hearing about the history of DM, but Klondike couldn't have been removed in 1994, as it was my first "big" coaster credit at DM and I wasn't even born in 1994! Just a small nitpick. Great video about G-Force overall 👍

RIP Gforce my first thrill coaster. Technically my first roller coaster ride was the green dragon at greenwood, but Gforce was my first proper one and it has a special place in my memory.

I really enjoyed gforce, i mustve been on it around 2015 and it was a solid ride. The queue line was grim. It just blazed techno music at you at max volume and there was a load of strobe lighting in the pitch black before you have to go up a tiny staircase inside revealing a big empty station.

I can’t wait for the next video. Rockit is, hands down, the single best concept for a ride that was failed in execution. It hasn’t aged well...

The restraint looked so insecure, the restraint on that ride would only cover your waist, it was the most painful ride I ever been on, only the first 5 seconds of the ride was ok until I went the loop it was horrible because I was scared of that restraint getting loose

I loved g force! I only did it once but in 2017 it was my second upside down ride! (Shockwave being first) i remember when its closure was announced and i was just gutted! I came back in 2019 and it was still there just loosing colour and being left to rot. Such a shame! Drayton could have changed its theme to beach style maybe call it typhoon? And extend the layout and add a launch! It would cost loads but it really was a good ride! I thought drayton would go under after this went but since drayton was bought by the looping group, the park looks good and feels refreshing!

When I visited in June, the staff and mechanics stated that the ride will be dismantled at the end of the 2019 season and relocated to Wales. Where in Wales, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that a flat may be going in it's place, due to it's small footprint.

being a longtime resident born and raised in Orlando I have to tell you that the rip Ride rockit used to be one of the most incredible roller coasters that I've ridden... however now it is the opposite it's extremely shaky very rickety and nowhere near smooth like before. The track and everything is starting to rust, it definitely need some love. Let's hope Universal restores it!

I know you usually don't do videos on still operating Six Flags parks but this park is currently dying out and not much is being done in the park to make it better, besides the opening of that wonder woman ride. There was also that accident that happened on the Superman ride where a girl's feet were cut off. It's my home park and I would love to know more about it. Thanks. Have never ridden G-Force (I live in Australia) but I have ridden Buzzsaw at dreamworld, which is a SkyWheel Rollercoaster. I can say. The cars and restraints are so comfortable!!

Me and a friend queued for this ride for three hours on a school trip back in 2008, and when we finally got on it it was terrible. Plus my friend had her phone stolen from her bag because there was no kind of storage locker and she just had to put it in a big pile of bags outside the entrance.

I had no idea it was closed. I've not been in years and was looking forward to going on it again 😢

I was there on opening day. Second public rider, after the VIP's. Loved it then, but rarely rode it after that. As mentioned, the restraints tightening throughout the ride wasn't pleasant. I'm glad it's not open now.

This was the first coaster I ever went on, and since I’ve been on a lot of much better rides. However, this coaster will always be special to me. (Honestly not that disappointed that it got shut down though, it was getting quite rough.)

Iv been to Drayton manner more time than I can count, it’s a real shame about the park as of late. I do hope they can recover and that they don’t do an American adventure and just disappear.

I live literally 200 meters from the back of Drayton Manor, I know several people who work there, I can confirm Thomas Land has transformed the Park, it’s making more Money since aiming for Families instead of competing with AltonTowers.

I live in Coventry, and Drayton Manor is effectively my local theme park (roughly 30 mins away). It's a shame to see the lack of investment in the park (outside of Thomas Land) since G-Force opened. I rode G-Force a few years after opening but wasn't wowed by it. I was gutted that it had replaced the old Klondike Gold Mine coaster (which was removed a lot later than 94 as stated in your video. I remember riding it - and thus becoming the first inversion I rode - in the early-mid 00s). Shockwave is starting to show it's age, too. The last time I rode it was not enjoyable at all due to how rough it was. Granted, it's a small park (you can easily get a couple of rides in on all the major attractions in a day), but I feel that if they could get at least one more good quality coaster (maybe a new woodie or a mid-size Gertslauer or similar), or preferably two, then the park might see a better future. At the moment it's thrill rides are the best thing about it. A good ride on Maelstrom is better than any other ride of its type IMO, and Apocalypse is well-renowned for a reason. If they could capitalise on the somewhat dead area around Apocalypse (and to a lesser extent, Pandemonium), they could have a nice new signature attraction right by the main entrance. Most importantly, can we get some love for the Buffalo coaster? ;)

Drayton Manor is my closest theme park. It's family owned, which is why it's not in Merlin Entertainments catalogue of theme parks

Really makes you think why doesnt the looping group (the owners of drayton manor) move it to pleasurewood hills? That theme park needs a new roller coaster anyways. (They also own pleasurewood hills).

Gforce was an awful coaster! However I would've preferred for it to stay open as now there is only one decent coaster and that's shockwave

I never got to ride G-Force sadly. It was a unique coaster with a unique layout. I would've went to Drayton Manor had there been more thrilling coasters.

Drayton Manor will be fine, it's a family park now and one of the few you can really enjoy with young kids and it will continue to have that draw. My son loves thomas land, we took him to alton towers for the first time this weekend and he had way outgrown all the rides in their kids area, but was still a little too short for most thrill rides so we were left with runaway mine train, blade, hex, river rapids etc. (Us adults managed to take it in turns to do the odd thrill ride!) But Drayton manor proved way better for kids under 7.

I knew of G Force in the UK...even here in the rural US. What I'm having serious trouble with is understanding the whole acrobat in the ride vehicle thing. That looked some kind of fetish thing...really weird! Great video though

Honestly I’m gutted they closed it. I’ve never ridden it myself, but it looked like an awesome ride that gave a unique experience. But if Drayton want to increase attendance, I feel a Eurofighter in G-Force’s place would be perfect. They are compact and they aren’t too intense. There are plenty of Eurofighters around that are appealing to both young and old riders, for example Mystery Mine at Dollywood or the Spongebob one at Nickelodeon Universe, and if Drayton Manor added one, I’m sure many people (including myself) would love it
