I would use the 3M sticky to mount it to the RC cars I race, drive it around a track at night, then create a long exposure picture to show the shape of a track. BONUS ROUND: Do it twice! Once with a warm color, second with a cool color to see how close your racing lines are!

Hi Peter, the most creative way I'd use this, is to be on a plexiglass table, and have this light shooting upward illuminating the scene - me pouring out chocolate coffee ganache into my moulds.... the effect would be uber cool ! Ohhh... can you say coffee ganache from extra dark chocolate.... yum ! Thanks for the video ! enjoy them all.

A little tip instead of the 3M tape to attract it to places, instead I’ve used the Loctite blue putty to slap it on different surfaces. It doesn’t leave any residue and doesn’t take paint off with the tape if it’s on a wall in a house or anything like that. Just a little tip!

My fascination with photography & videography since as young as I can remember is its ability to immortalise a moment in time forever. I would use this light to shoot a film with a sequence of close up shots of everyone I love. There would be no dialogue, just a gentle soundtrack... The light would bring to life the story of each persons face... every wrinkle, every line, every freckle that makes them unique in this world at that moment in time. The battery on the MX is absolutely insane! I just got this 2-3 days ago and I shot a 20-30 minutes video with some drawbacks so total 2 hours with max brightness and still never died on me. Loved this little thing 100% worth the price!

There's not too much light you can find when you're outside and it's raining...might be a little risky but I'd stick that sucker on the underside of an umbrella and get a shot of someone under it with the rain in the background. Might be limited on the angles but definitely worth a try!

I would use the light to shoot flowers, plants or food in a slightly dark place or a place that is too bright. I wonder whether I can use this light as a counter light when the sun is too bright. I sometimes use flash to counter that, but this light also has a warmth and cold setting. Playing with the lighting and shooting pictures! So much fun!

Hey Peter! I shoot for a few coffee shops in my hometown so I would put it in a glass container filled with coffee beans so the light would bleed in between the beans and make them look like they were some magical freaking beans, more magical than Jack's magic beans cause, you know, coffee is magical Thanks for all your amazing content and continuing to inspire and help me grow as a creator!

You know those really tricky shots to light that are from the inside of a cupboard as someone opens it, or in a fridge etc. THIS would eliminate the difficulty. Would also be great for micro-scale product photography, shooting in small rooms, using as an eye-light, shooting in a car (like you mentioned), emulating a computer or a phone screen, gelling it up and creating trippy lighting effects in interesting colours on camera by waving it around a bit, oh my god I need this light in my life.

I will definitely use this in mobile photography. Mobile flash sucks and they don’t have enough power to lighten up the image. This will be very very useful in night photography.

I would use it to boost the lighting in my own videos until I get a better lighting set up. Currently using vellum taped over a desk lamp and a floor lamp as my set up. Revamping my entire creative studio on a budget and taking a while. I was going to start my RU-vid channel when I finished the remodeling, but have been watching your vids for a while and decided to take your advice that “something is better than nothing” and started uploading a video series on storytelling, how storytelling from comic books (sequential art) can help fiction writers make their writing more visual and cinematic. First two parts up and surprised that I’m actually getting a fairly steady stream of views. Part 3 up in a couple of days. Thank you, Peter, for inspiring me to get started!

Besides the warm and cold light feature, you could even have a couple of those colorful plastic sheets; place in front and possibly get a neon like effect. As far as placing it somewhere; i'd place it inside/under something with a lot of texture; say a fabric with a mess a light up portraits interestingly.

I think a creative use for this light would be for stop motion animation and for cinematography work on small-scale models and miniatures. It's small design would make it easier for animators to do more with light crafting on their clay figures and model sets. Imagine a baseball diamond to-scale model and these lights acting as the actual stadium lights for the field.

This sounds perfect to throw in my camera bag because when I head out of town, I limit myself to a carryon and my camera bag. Two of my favorite coffee shops are in Frankfurt Germany and I hope to shoot some photos at each this summer. One gave me a peacock in my foam during my last visit, but it is really the beans that make the coffee what it is.

I'd use this light in my stop motion animations, mounted on a tripod, and then incrementally raise it frame-by-frame... whilst also adjusting the dimmer switch combined with the colour temperature to produce some pretty groovy miniature sunrise / sunset effects. I have no idea what it would look like, but it'd be interesting to try it out :D

Put the light behind a fallen leaf that’s standing on the grass at early morning so it’s covered in dew. This should allow you to see the shadows of the grass through the leaf and get some refraction through the water droplets of the dew to get some cool streaks of refracted light for an autumnal mood!

How I would probably use it: For night photography [portraits], When outside, I would put colored gels over the cold setting to give various multicolored light look to softly light up the face yet giving that something extra to the portrait.

Take it camping for practical night reasons like needing to do things in the dark or find something... for shooting photos warm light when shooting near camp fire/ fire scenes Cool light for moon/star light effect or if you are near water and need better light on subject

For photo shoots I would not have to set up a 3 point light system to make it soft, I could just use the "LIGHT" as a key and simply a diffused 650 for a nice glow on the back, saving me so much time , and time in the industry is money.

Put it in the bottom of a large vase, set the desired temp, boost it, then fill the remainder of the vase with glass marbles, then a few flowers. Wonderful background accent light with no wires! I love this stuff.
