@SnakeHelah Год назад
Not to be a downer, but it does not seem like true full immersion. Yes, you can't bend over backwards but you can definitely fall or lie on your back or your front, does not seem like that is included with this kind of setup as your central point is fixed and you're sort of sitting on it?
@fedyx1544
@fedyx1544 Год назад
@@SnakeHelah full immersion is simply impossible without a cable sending video signals directly to your brain. Even the most advanced vr setups will always limit you in your range of movement in some way, not only that but there is an inherent risk to having force feedback cause it has the potential to hurt people if calibrated and programmed badly. We must make do with what we have I fear.

@SnakeHelah
@SnakeHelah Год назад
@@fedyx1544 true but I feel like this type of VR will not be possible until we're actually at the stage where humans are replacing body parts with cybernetics or something. I mean, the sophistication of such a device would mean it probably costs billions of dollars as emulating games or experiences inside your own brain sounds like pure science fiction. The only thing I'm envisioning that's feasible is some kind of manipulation that lulls your brain into a dream-like state, but you're awake enough to control it or something.
@synesthesiaharmonics
@synesthesiaharmonics Год назад
@@SnakeHelah That's some really comprehensive insight! I meant that this is most likely the foundational stage of an iterative prototyping process that will then incorporate various human-machine interfaces along the way. Great video Thrill! I got into VR the first week of Covid due to movie theaters closing. I’m a filmmaker and I generally go there the theaters once a week if I can. When I heard you could go to the movies in VR, I jumped on the VR train that same day. I now feel as it for many things, including gaming with family members who live in different states which is incredible to be able to do. Watching movies with family/friends is also such a special feeling. My as for you with your new BigScreen prototype is this: Can you watch a movie with your quest 2 using the bigscreen app, and then watch another movie with the new bigscreen headset and tell me(us) if there really is a huge difference in experience. I don’t have any previous vr hardware except for my quest 2 and my pc, so this would be a big investment. If the visuals are worth it, it’s something I would consider. @@WillieWinkler I could see a hybrid build that uses trackers on the feet and the exit skeleton unmounted and using a sort of suspension system to allow everything from walking to running to crawling! It would need a bit more work for the suspension to properly keep you in place without limiting movement up and down (maybe a similar skeleton to the exit to keep it from moving horizontally?). Plus software to correlate the hip and foot tracking for locomotion, but I feel like this would allow full movement (maybe even some yoga poses level of flexible) while still also allowing you to use feet to move. Suppose it's just an Idea, but definitely going to try it out once I can get all the equipment!

Been imagining a very similar thing for many years with all the benefits and current challenges to full immersion plus way more, solved. Like telepresence, recording and experiencing other peoples full body recordings which could train you or be therapeutic, or as a workout device, to nteracting waay more intimately across distance with other users or the real world . I can see people spending 10k on a system like this since it solves so much in one thing, or even lease it like a car. Even as a vegas attraction or hourly reservation, you get people hooked very fast i think, plus really entertaining twitch/youtube streaming material. The humanoid robot field could eventually be very synergetic with this exosuit / vr stuff, bringing costs down for both

Thanks for the new video! My biggest question for the Beyond, since it's bare minimum, is how to fill out the rest of the system. My Index is simultaneously the best VR Headset, Monitor, Headphones, and Microphone I own. When you're actually playing something like VRChat, what do you add to it? Has Bigscreen shared any information with you about the potential audio strap? Does supporting the entire headset on your eyes like goggles feel more or less comfortable after hours of playtime, or would you prefer a more supportive strap like the index or a halo like the PSVR? My friend's biggest concern has been the FOV, she doesn't want to upgrade from her index until they release something wider than 110, so stepping back to ~90 is almost a deal breaker. Do you notice this reduced FOV when in actual use?

The exitsuit looks like something Hannibal lector would be strapped to. I think they need to work the image a bit, but otherwise looks promising

Great video. I know you love VR technology, will you be doing a video about the HIG-M4 VR Haptic Gun and the HIGVR Data Glove?

Awesome! My only 2 concern is the sturdiness of it, and the bottom bit being too rigid. But have to try myself!

PLEASE test how clear the Beyond is for doing desktop work with your video workflows. The #2 thing I want from a VR headset is to ditch my monitor and desk setup to use a headset in a virtual desktop environment FULL TIME. I was going to buy a Quest Pro because it seems like the only relatively affordable headset with good enough clarity to do this but I'm on the fence about it because I would much rather a SteamVR tracked headset because then I won't need two different headsets. If I get the Quest Pro, I still need a SteamVR headset to use with full body tracking because doing that with an Oculus device is a royal pain in the ASS.

That exit suit is just wicked!! it could potentially solve many problems in VR. they've got a sub extra. Could you check how the new headset works in the sim or non-game apps? For example check text readability, performance on standard game PC and sound solutions plz! Apple calling it "a macintosh moment" promises a lot for me. Apple VR could be a new way of working, which the mac also introduced to a lot of ppl back in the day. I hope that Apple focuses on comfort and usability with the power of some m2x processors. Apple could be introducing design for VR unlike anything currently available. I'll try to be an early adopter if the budget allows it. Wonder if SteamVR will be available on Launch on mac.

OMG...I have a woodshop. I can feel this happening to me. You should call this episode 'Drink Me'. I have to listen to white rabbit while looking at specs now. So, thanks? I guess.

Related to the Beyond, I'm most intrigued by the brightness of the panels and if there's any Mura effect as seen on the PSVR2

Biggest thing I want to know about the Beyond. Is it going to replace your Index? If it is, I'm replacing my original HTC Vive with it. If not, well, maybe I'll wait a little longer for what's around the corner. Love the vids!

Nothing matters more to me than wider peripherals, in my opinion. Refresh rates and pixel count have been good enough for me already (of course more is always welcome lol) is there any chance you know the view angle for this tiny little cool one? Thanks! Love your videos mate!!

Hey, I got a couple of suggestions about the beyond headset video, I'd like to see mic comparisons and if it works on Linux. You said previously it's steamvr so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Linux, but I'd love to get back into VR after switching my OS.

Great update! Really looking forward to the Beyond, do you have any sim racing setup - dedicated PCVR for sim racing is huge for me and others, would love to have something with a larger field of view, great refresh rates and highest pixel per degree they can manage (Sim racing is all about how far you can see in the virtual world).

I instantly know what this video is about, the Exit Suit. I found this project through Lucas's VR Glove's video's comments. It's a cool concept, but kinda goofy to me personally.
