on one hand yes, on the other the more I think about it the more I want to actually block all content related to poe 2 (including not watching the livestream) till I get to the endgame myself. it's gonna be interesting to go in blind and it's not like you can unlearn what exists.
Lets be real, PoE2 is separate from PoE1 because GGG have seen what happened to games like Runescape and WoW, how they gradually grew into completely different games over time and how a lot of the core audience demanded "oldschool/classic" versions of the games to be brought back. By making PoE2 separate, GGG have avoided this future issue as people can always bounce back and forth between the two games.
PoE1 has already more than gotten to that point. I started playing PoE1 in closed beta and played HARD for about 6 years. Thousands of hours played. The game got SO much faster and so much nonsense spammed all over the screen, it was utter nonsense by the time I stopped. This looks like it's getting back to the core of their vision from the start with some modern tweaks from what they've learned in the past decade, and I'm all for it.
PoE1 became Sonic the Hedgehog with extra steps. I played several thousand hours in the early years, but haven't touched it in the last 2-3 because of this.
@@KahranRamsusI have to say, I was one of those people who played since beta and didn't like the zoom zoom meta. But I came back after a few years hiatus and decided to give arpg Sonic another try. I enjoyed it a lot more this time. I'm not sure what to attribute that to but I totally get why the pace appeals to a lot of people. POE did grow a lot as it got faster. Also, it's one of those things where if you get accustomed to it, it's hard to go back. It's much easier to power creep slowly than to cut back power, but the problem is a lot of POE players are going to expect to be blasting at endgame the way they do in POE1, and that might not happen at first. My prediction is there will be a huge uproar on the soft launch about the slower pacing and increased difficulty and it will bring the hype train to a stop. I don't think this is a bad thing necessarily, as GGG will surely introduce power creep and eventually word will get out that blasting is available for the blasting enjoyers. As for me? I'm going to try to adjust. I think it will be difficult at first, but ultimately I think it will make the progression that happens and the meta revolutions feel that much more satisfying, because we will start trivializing content that gave us nightmares and headaches for weeks or months.
I definitely think people enjoy the Sonic gameplay, I definitely don't, but the moment you realize that seasonal leagues are literal beta tests, it sort of ends the game for me. Working a full time job I never had the time to clear old end game content (that they kept buffing to be as hard as current end game content while nerfing the rewards through the ground) or getting to level cap before everyone quit playing. The influences of Elden Ring and skill based mechanics gives me hope to eliminate part of the problem. I'm just never going to touch seasonal leagues in PoE2 to solve that problem.
This is what I've been saying. A number of players will enjoy the game for what it is, not demanding or expecting anything more than the experience that is presented to them. The rest, the toxic part of the internet and the player-base, people like Zizaran will probably fail to acclimatise because they struggle with change, because really what they want is just a re-skin of POE 1. I am fully expecting to see some parts of the community to run to Reddit and spend 3 paragraphs crying how this was not the game they were expecting whilst spamming 'Not my game' or 'POE 1 until they fix this trash' or some other low IQ statement. I will be avoiding all reviews, all opinion and all noise.
First off "Friend" Your comments are TOXIC but i can understand where you are coming from. its not nice to name and shame even if you feel it is well in your right. Also reddit will always be the place for people to vent but it does not mean it is the voice of the community (mostly reddit is a circle jerk of a echo chamber). I do with to say this PoE2 will itch a part in most of PoE1's players brain that will add depth to a other wise old and beat up punching bag. As devs in wow once said "We will pull the rip cord if we have too" Well PoE2 is the rip cord for PoE1.
@@lightesthour I was waiting for this comment. I really couldn’t care less about what you think is nice or not nice. If I have to name and shame all of your favourite streamers to make a point I will.
@@BlimeyDasGrimey HAHAHA i dont like any streamer they ruin games. also ill tell you this right now im happy im the one to itch your rage bait. For what is nice or not if you dont care that means your a unloved POS. enjoy your weekend brother may you have a nice grill out and enjoy some time outside. :)
my biggest hype point is the way jonathan speaks about little things and changes he knows how to play this game like a gamer how fascinated he sounds when he can explain things
I'm really looking forward to the first few seasons of PoE2, because that's about how long I expect it to take for them to cave for the zoom zoom crowd and ruin it. I see it as something that will be great but inevitably temporary, and in a few years we'll go back to those videos of the intricate battles with the bosses that are now getting one-shotted and have a nostalgic chuckle.
I have the same fear behind all of this. PoE2 is poising itself to be the first step forward in the tried and true formula for this genre in decades (as most “isometric arpgs” still play like Diablo 2) and I’m worried we will get an enshittification due to feedback from the zoom zoom crowd.
For me, there is another element to the "overhype" question. I find that if I follow a game I'm looking to too closely for too long before it releases, I have a kind of "hype hangover" at release. Not because it ends up being a bad game but because it doesn't have the same "magic" for me when it releases. It doesn't feel fresh.
Very true. Honestly, I have mostly avoided gameplay videos for this reason, but I've probably been consuming too much POE2 content anyway. My competitive side wants to understand the mechanics well before launch, but I know that will make it so I enjoy the game less.
Everything is overhype... You cannot live up to what people dream. I work in a companies who make software for Dentist and if I do everything people want it will be a mess of a software. Most people want a button that do what you want when you want. At some point Dev need to choose what is good and what is useless to put. Everybody want something different and nothing will ever be perfect. One of my favorite game is PoE, but the game is not perfect. It's has flaw and some stuff are not push enough for me... But maybe for someone else it's perfect who know?
I dont think POE 2 is overhyped at all. Seriously. Many ppl could already play it, we see all those gameplay videos. The game looks freaking amazing, and according to the ppl whl could actually test it, the game is as good as it looks. It will be vastly differebnt from POE 1. I expect it to be an arpg soulslike with bird view perspective and POE 1 season mechanics
I expect it to play more like nioh or code vein, as in a more spectacle style souls like with the potential to become completely broken. The issue is for people who do not know that PoE 2 is going to be different on a fundamental level. Or who expect to be able to get through the campaign first time on a weak build.
@@doombybbr I can see that. I never played Code Vein and also never played Nioh. But recently bought Nioh 1 and 2 on Steam. I played Black Myth Wukong (am at chapter 5 currently) and its probably the best game Ive ever played. It fits exactly my taste of games, so I was looking for somewhat similar games in the soulslike genre. I knew Nioh for a long time, just never played. Started to play Nioh 1 some time ago but only for half an hour or so. Will continue when Im done with Wukong or maybe Ill switch between them a bit. EDIT: and yeah, you are right with the expectation thing but then I think that POE 1 is already a niche game in a smaller genre (besides Diablo franchise). POE 2 will certainly attract a lot of new arpg players, but I think that many POE 1 players already got the memo that POE 2 will be different, it will be hard. So I think it could only hit the new players who expect an easier game like D4. But D4 has gotten a bit harder with the recent expansion as well.
As someone who has also put thousands of hours and dollars into PoE1, I can't wait for PoE2. I don't see why anyone would just want a Reskinned PoE1. We got that with D2 Resurrection and it was cool for a bit but quickly fell off because it's just the same game with better graphics. Having an actual sequel is so much better because it gives you more creative freedom to change mechanics for the better, or remove certain elements that are out dated or bloated, and add things to the game that you could never do before because of limited systems. In many ways PoE2 is a true sequel (unlike some other titles) *cough D3 cough* because they are keeping a lot of what made PoE1 great while still adding a lot of content to make the game feel like a real sequel and not a completely different game. Too often do we see sequels stray from what made it's predecessor great, and we end up with something that doesn't even resemble the greatness of the original and the only resemblance is the Story or NPCs. PoE2 has every reason to be as hyped as it is because of the greatness that is PoE1, and because of the time and care that's been taken into the development to make PoE2 a masterful sequel and not just a cash grab like some other game titles. Until GGG proves otherwise, I refuse to doubt them and I will look forward to PoE2 with extreme hype.
Of all the people I talked to who were able to play the game are all saying they are liking it. Also the WASD part, they even goes to say that they'll have a hard time going back to PoE's lack of WASD or D4's limited WASD implementation.
I can totally see why people see it as "overhyped". So much content being made around a subject can feel strange. It's I assume normal human behaviour when you hear something that you aren't into, but you hear from many sides for a long time that it's going to be great, amazing and will blow your socks off. Probably a healthy mentality to step back and have breathing room without jumping in head first, like back when NFTs became so hyped or now recently AI. Maybe even healthier is to just mute phrases and words on social media to not see PoE 2 content and go in blind when it drops on November 14th. Of course, this hurts content creators, but hopefully those people become long-term players, which is more important 😊
it will maybe flop for hardcore POE1 players cause ppl dont like change. and if you´ve played a game for 10k hours you receive the changes made a lot different than someone who hasn´t put a lot of time into POE1. i think it will be a great success for non POE1 players and for "casual" POE1 players. but the hardcore POE nerds will hate it. im pretty sure cause its not POE1 but they just expect POE1 with better graphics.
I'm actually scared I'm underhyped ! XD GGG has always blown me away with their league content, even if some were less good than others (thinking about you, Crucible and LoK). I expected a rework of quality gem ? Boom, hundreds of new alternate gems. Boat league ? Boom, whole ass city management league. Elder, Shaper and Maven were nice ? How about two new ones, and a rework of the Atlas ? How about a WHOLE SECOND F***ING TREE for the Atlas ? Even if they sometimes miss the mark, they know the risks, and they always overdelivered, imo. I always expect new amazing stuff, and they always give me more than I could think. So yeah, I think PoE2 will be amazing ! And, from my experience with GGG so far, it will probably be even better than the maximum I can imagine.
I have a conspiracy theory that Acts1-6 of POE were originally supposed to be in the initial early access release. A few interviews back, Jonathon said that the changes to default attack in POE2 required a rebalance of every single boss in the campaign (something they had JUST finished rebalancing for WASD). But the default attack change came too late and they didn’t have enough time to rebalance the campaign. So the reason we have only Acts1-3 at launch is default attack. 😄
also it will be paid early access so it will keep the servers from being too overloaded at launch because not everyone will wanna buy the supporter pack theyll wait till free full release
I hope Jonathan and the team gets to sit back and enjoy the game alongside the players for a bit once the gates open like he talked about. I'm sure there will be even more things to do and fix once players gets in on it, however.
I've massively lowered my expectations after they announced EA would be paid access and there wouldn't be th entire campaign, nor do we have any idea about endgame access.
I think my expectations are pretty realistic. It just has to be better/different than what I am used to, D4 and LE. Which I think is a given. Not being used to PoE1 I think really works to my and others advantage. I worry about PoE1 players though, other than lore and world, it will not be what they are used to but by now they should know that.
GGG has gone underground for a month on PoE2 and PoE1. We're 2 weeks from what should be standard league reset. Personally I wouldn't mind them taking a step back and just doing a soft demo launch of PoE2 if they're getting so burned out that they can't communicate
My concern is the pacing of the game seems to be so much slower in terms of the gameplay compared to PoE and even Diablo IV. I'm not sure if that's because we're mostly seeing videos of people leveling at low level and don't have good gear of if this is just the state of the game.
They stated that they want to get away from the “disco ball effect”. Where people just spam one button and the screen is overloaded with flashing lights. They’re slowing the game down so you can focus on combos and string together a variety of attacks. That’s what actually makes me super happy about POE2. You can slow down and take in the scenery and beauty of the mechanics. Then when I want to just look at flashing lights and not see anything I’m actually doing, I can load up POE1 which is still gonna be fully supported.
Even if Poe2 doesn`t meet your expectations at the start, it's not the end of the world since you can play Poe1 until Poe2 is in better form, and the chance for you to never like it is pretty small, I would say less than 3% if you are a poe1 veteran. Keeping poe1 and making poe2 a standalone was such a smart decision not only for the players but also for them because it means they have much less pressure working on poe2 not that they would put out worse content because of this or get lazy but they just feel a bit more save i would say with poe1 as SafetyNet incase something goes wrong.
"Hype" is just confusing to me. I like what I see so far from PoE2, and will see how it is when it comes out. Also feels like some people are forgetting this is the early access release, not the full launch.
I might be skeptical about POE 2 if GGG was releasing under preforming leagues for 1. Thing is, they are seeing the most engagement with the settlers league. That bodes well for 2 in my way of seeing things
when Elden Ring was comming out, everyone thought its gonna be one of the best games, and it was even better :D ... people knew what is Miyazaki with is studio capable of doing based on their previous releases... i think something similar is very likely to happen here with PoE 2
I will say it again - I am looking forward to PoE2 BUT if WASD is going to be integral to playing the game and it takes away the ability to build our character and playstyle like PoE then I am out. What it means is that they have decided to exclude loyal 5K+ hours fans from a game that we have loved and supported from the time we first played it.
Hey @talkativetri what was your rhought on no rest for wicked? I passed on it to wait for this. One thing thou is, this is appealing to me to be more then a click fest spam mouse thing poe looks like (I have purposely never tried poe1) I definitely want to treat this as strategic combat hope it let's me!
I've never been more excited for a game in my life. Even if it has a lot of problems at launch, i simply don't care. I have complete faith in GGG to deliever their vision.
I dont get how people are even abled to overhype PoE2. I can see why people overhype stuff like CP2077 because they only had a trailer for it but in PoE2 case we have so much footage and gameplay information. In my eyes whoever overhypes PoE2 is not well informed, ignorant or in the worst case slightly dull. We can make a very accurate assumption of what PoE2 is gonna be. If you (the reader) think PoE2 is gonna change your gaming experience forever you need to use your brain more. From my perspective i am really happy that PoE2 is happening and im glad to see it going in a right direction and i can already tell that i will enjoy it (whether the end game will be the same or modified). Will it change my life tho? Nope, im gonna sink huge amount of hours into it that is for sure and it will surely feel more refreshing for my eyes and from the mechanical perspective but as every game i ever played its gonna feel all the same within a week. Overhyping is for the less blessed and should be ignored in any instance. If you disagree, try to change my mind im opened to it.
I think people get hype and expectations confused. Lower your expectations and the hype will excite you for the product (Not the final product either for the record!) The saying, it is what it is has never been more appropriate. Enjoy exiles
Im hyped as fuck, it looks beautiful, same team is making it, lot of poe stuff that worked will be ported into poe2 after adjustment. I never got into poe just cause of complexity and graphics. So to have a chance to start fresh, with better graphics I couldn't wish for more!
I still think that there's a decent chance poe 2 will suck in the beginning of early access because of bugs, lack of polish and balance. Also with GGG focusing more and more on building the game around WASD movement it will inevitably become less fun for people who enjoy mastering stutter stepping with click to move so it'll appeal to different people. WASD is more about mastering dodging, landing skill shots and using the right skill at the right time which is exactly what poe 2's combat seems to be about so it's no surprise that everyone says WASD feels so much better than click to move in that game but not necessarily everyone will enjoy that. I'm sure for the full release they'll manage to polish the game and it'll become much more succesful than poe 1 but there will probably also be some people who don't like it. I personally have played and enjoyed both click to move and WASD top down games so I'm sure I'll like poe 2 once it's polished enough.
I don't think overhyped. But I think the expectation of what is going to come on nov15 is going to really disappoint. But ultimately in release it will be amazing.
when people zoom through all the acts and there is only 3 coming out then there will be dissapoint at end of act 3 :D till the full release with another 3 making it 6 altogether..
The last time I was this excited about an ARPG was with Diablo 2 eons ago... Everything else after D2 was just unfulfilled promises n expectations, again I feel that old gold energy for an ARPG, the difference is that now I'm seeing how it's going to be, and it's good. I can't wait, where can I buy the BETA pass?
The game looks amazing but they kept the static skill tree which means its gonna be net builds all over again. Shame, its bad game design. The skill system should be partially random so every play through is different as oppose to every playthrough being the same net build created by some streamer that plays the game as a job.
I think i've figured out why i'm so worried at least about the beta. The scaling looks so so off with damage done to monsters. My hard opinion is white monsters shouldn't take 5-10 seconds to die. I will not enjoy the game if this is the intended pace of gameplay. Yes you can say damage can be tuned but this is footage so close to beta and the time to kill is still absurd which makes me think they have set this intentionally. do you have more insight on this?
im still kind of frustrated with how they keep announcing this over the years. its almost like they are re-announcing it as many times as possible to attract new people yet not really caring about all the people patiently waiting and hoping to play the full thing which is still who knows how far out
Im not hyped for [what it looks like in gameplay videos] NEEDING to used 3/4 spells constantly while running&rolling away from packs of monsters. .. could just be in early game that you have to do so ,but still i dont want to push 70button/min😅
Also coulda been just people trying to skills for the limited time they had to play 🤷♂️ so I guess I'll have to actually play before I really give an opinion
People that complain of POE 2 are the zoom zoom zealots. They see the whole purpose of a game to make something that you cannot even see what are the monsters and what your character is doing.. I.e they want to play Path of Building.
I've been thinking that POE 2 was over hyped since first trailer, i'm talking form position of person who sunk dozen thousands of hours over last 10 years into poe and who doesnt want to see "path of soulslike", and over recent years GGG didnt give me any reasons to be optimistic, they way they handled (and communicated) around poe trying to poke and prod to see how far they can go (from very failed experiment called archnemesis and their claim that they know better what players want) that's when i started seeing cracks and some disconnection in GGG, i know, POE 2 is managed by separate team. The first trailers of POE2 filled me with dread, it was slow, methodical, basically dark souls in arpg form, exactly what i wanted not to see, luckily recently they moved to show more dynamic presentations and more movement. with that said, i'm no longer a "hater" (aka someone who didnt give in to hype and seen potential issues) , but i'm still cautiously pessimistic
yeah I think it's definitely gonna be slower at least in the early days (before we get path of building 2 and people know the game enough to make broken builds), I think a lot of people think they won't like a slower/more challenging game, but if it's entertaining they would, but not in the same way you enjoy poe 1. I think having a long running poe 2 standard character and doing poe 1 leagues might be a pretty fun way to play
I feel kind of the same as per my comment above, i just think the combat pacing and time to kill white mobs looks way off and no i don't buy that it will be scaled later. It's nearly beta and white mobs are still taking 5 seconds to die. yikes
It's definitely overhyped, GGG and their streamersphere have built it up to a standard they cam't meet. There are goong to be a lot of people saying "PoE 2 bad" no matter what the quality of the game is.
with populary always comes some amount of hate, no matter the game. Even games with 95% positive reviews on steam have people complaining about others loving a game and spreading the word about it I may hype it up a bit too much for myself, but im confident GGG will deliver. if they dont deliver the full potential at release, they will deliver afterwards.
my expectations: POE1 it's a great game, but the zoom-zoom meta feels like crap. So if poe2 doesn’t change anything at all other than reducing the speed - that’s already 9/10
There hasn't been a arpg that has good itemization and good combat with good endgame. Tbh poe2 looks like that game. The change from a full screen of clutter to a slower pace combat will be good. Dodge n positioning will b crucial. Skill will b needed. 👌
1:30 Im done with overhyping / hyping games since a long time. Somehow all big companys managed to fuck up their once been good games. League of legends. Fifa. pokemon. Blizzard games especially diablo. Yugioh. List could go on for a long time. Im so done with hyping games. But GGG didnt do this. Kalandra league was meh, but enjoyable. Nemesis league was shit, but enjoyable. I played flicker for 80% of my poe1 career, i like the gamestyle to be fast, i know poe2 probably wont be like this. Still im giga hyped to see what GGG cooked. It is just the lack of information we are getting. GGG is really good at listening to their comnunity, making game changes that we want and need. But lets be honest. They suck big ass when it comes to news/anouncements. Im like 99% certain we get the poe2 stream about a weekend before the game releases on 15.11 xd They really need a marketing/social media team just for this purpose. They got enough nerds to fill our wishes.
im keen on the jav and shield class but more hyped for poe2 stopped diablo 4 expansion to play other games and rather wait for poe and i was a big diablo fan but the expansion for d4 didnt hit it aint gonna sink hours when i can have fun with other games till poe2 comes out
All i care about is the tech side of the game. I stopped playing POE1 cause it crashes all the time even on a new pc. If it keeps happening on POE2 so its all a waste of time and there is no progression from POE1. I don't care how different they are.
reason we havent heard end game is because there probably is no end game at moment and only 3 acts is coming early release...out of 6 acts so they probably think we have plenty of time for end game :D
still havent seen any endgame content from poe2. everything they show is super damn slow and boring early campaign stuff. jesus, ggg let me see some good stuff finally
I'm unsure what's NOT to be hyped for. POE 1 has incredible in-depth systems, mechanics and endgame. It falls flat with combat mechanics and bloat. Now imagine all that amazing depth and complexity - but BETTER IN EVERY WAY. Better graphics, sound, art, combat, not to mention what looks like leaps forward to co-op and party play. All that bloat streamlined into something more cohesive. Easier access for newer players, actual tutorials, in depth information for how points on the skill tree affect your build. So much good stuff here. I'm on that hype train.
PoE2 + PoE1 may be in a much better state late 2025, when both will have three month league cycles. Single player games do not retain a player base and GGG hasn't been great at improving the competitive aspect of PoE for a long time.
A significant chunk of the PoE1 fanbase is toxic as fuck, and angrily pushed for the "zoom zoom particles everywhere if you see anything on the screen not dead ur trash" nonsense that PoE1 turned into. So when I see people angrily exclaiming their problems with PoE2 from what we've seen and it's because it's not that nonsense? I don't give a fuck about their opinions. Bringing PoE2 back to the original vision of the game and getting away from that nonsense will bring people like me back to the game. And the toxic people angry about the speed of the game can stick to PoE1.
Go play Diablo then, nothing wrong with zoom zoom, the point of the game is grinding to make your character better. That's it. End of story. The faster u can do that the better it feels for most people. Cry about it all you want but if poe 2 stays clunky and slow like Diablo (if it even plays like that at all, which I doubt) it will not be seen as fun for those players. Not that it would be trash but rather most people prefer a certain style of play style. Doesn't mean they are dumb either. Same goes for people who prefer slower arpg styles. Like it or not the game will be great, it's really dependant of the gameplay execution that will either bring or drive certain players to it.
@@TalkativeTri I know what they meant. POE 2 is made by GGG same people that make POE 1. It is very similar game but with differences for sure. But again I am calling BS on the 7k spent. I mean if you buy the largest pack every time would it be 7k? But even if so it just proofs my point. It is just a lie. I don't believe it. The game is not going to be Best in class to "SUCK" while still being made by same people. If you know what you are doing you don't go to SUCK over night. That guy is full of shit. There are some very innovative designs in POE 2 looking forward to it. This is like saying Elon sucks at making rockets or EV's and Starship is a complete failure.
you are LITERALLY the definition of overhyping the fokin game: i've seen a new video about poe 2 from this channel every 2 fokin days for the past 6 months with absolutely nothing new being mentioned about the damn game 🥴🤣
For me if the game becomes a slow clunky play style that requires a piano setup to play skills in order to have power I'm not playing it and only play poe 1, rsi is not what I want and Grinding maps for hours while having to piano shit and pick shit up all that clicking no thanks.
The sad truth is that POE2 is doomed to fail only a few people heard of path of exile. It's not a big household name that people recognize so it will show on player numbers. Even if the game is a 10/10 arpg the best out there, none will play it and that will drive GGG into the ground. POE1 was amazing but the focus on POE2 is killing them. At best it will have the Last Epoch player numbers and thats it. THey don't have the marketing power of Blizzard and it will show on the numbers. Its a useless battle and I don't know why GGG decided to take it. It's sad seeing them die and burn. But maybe a few devs will be able to find jobs at Blizzard
@@Kamelosk How am I a Blizzard simp. I haven't played D4 since season 2 cause the game bored me and I play POE since beta around 10k hours in. It's just the sad reality of the things happening in gaming.
i thought i had some wild takes.. you are underestimating the power of streamer marketing. If somehow you are a real gamer and still haven't heard of poe1 after all its years of dominating the arpg scene, then all the big streamers who play poe2 beta and launch will spread it like wildfire. Seriously which corner of the gaming market do you really think is gona miss the launch of this game.
Define failure. By conventional market metrics failure is the inability to increase profit more than you increased your profit last year, infinite growth infinitely growing is the only success the market sees. Conversly someone who owns a small coffee shop who makes enough money to keep their employees employed, keep the lights on, and live comfortably would also consider themselves a success, but the market would view them as a failure. I can gurantee that the minimum threshold of profitability is orders of magnitude lower than D4. You are right, if PoE2 has development costs equal to D4 it will only ever be a failure, but you forget that what GGG is targeting is not a profitable product, but a profitable studio. The costs of PoE2 have already been absorbed, they are being paid for by the profit of PoE1 and the players KNOW this and there is an impressively low amount of pushback on it. For the same reasons that PoE2 will never be able to compete with D4 player base numbers, D4 will never be able to hold a candle to PoE1 let alone 2 at a granular level. Stop comparing everything to a uniform standard. Understand the goals of the project. Why smack down the accomplishment of someone who won a marathon because they can't compete with an olympic runner.
According to your reasoning no indie game could have ever been successful. Meanwhile in a place called reality we are seeing indie games getting some of the biggest hype out there on a regular basis. Some of them have trailers on YT with a few thousand views to this day but ranked top 10 on steam charts for weeks.
