I used to love /x/ back in the day. Went there all the time to hopefully hear someones fairly convincing and genuinly spooky story or enjoy buying into really fun larp. If you're really lucky someone might send the entire place into a frenzy by posting a crazy tale followed by receipts to back it up. This all changed once green text channels on yt started getting popular though. /x/ was always full of duds but became progressively harder to wade through the obvious larps and low effort trolls over time. Ironically enough these yt channels are the best way to actually find those as the actual board is flooded with zoomers and people off their meds coming from yt and posting bs, trollposts and low effort larps. Most cant even walk the dinosaur much less make a proper funny ship post or believable larp. No hate btw. I love these channels anyway. Especially ones with high quality voice overs like burial goods or frauded.

It's not just recently, /x/ has been somewhat like this for as long as I've been paying attention to it (like 5 or 6 years). I love going on /x/ because it's like 30% schizoids who are off their meds, 50% trolls encouraging those schizoid's delusions, and 10% actually interesting discussion of paranormal stuff. So you get some good laughs at whatever insane shit the schizoids have cooked up, and if you're lucky some actually interesting stories. People have been complaining about 4chan "not being like it used to" since the dawn of time. I think part of it is people only remember the good stuff that got screencapped, and forget that there have always been low effort bait and troll posts. That being said, I haven't actually been on 4chan in many months, so idk maybe it actually has gone to shit this time.
Nothing new happened. Theres still fun to be had but the quality has gone down some since greentexts stories started getting popular outside of /x/ which is what people are getting at. People just feel strongly and get overly melodramatic over it. It happens to anything niche thats good. Eventually it gets popular and the normies swoop in to ruin it. Whats left is at best a slightly worse but still good version of what it used to be and at worst turned into a complete dumpsterfire like yt. /x/ is somewhere between the former and latter most days imo but can swing hard in either direction sometimes. Its just hard to find the good stuff when 90% of it is bs not worth reading.

So you would have to point at infinity and say "Here is infinity", but you couldn't start counting (Beyond One, but if One is the only number then of course it doesn't really make sense to "count" numbers the way we do, as 1, 2, 3, 4. etc. in a linear series.) I speculate that you may be able to "count" infinity but not the way we normally count with numbers.
