@Pyroflea53 if you have ever watched "that metal show" there was an eppisode where the black sabbath drummer talked about how he wanted to play with slipknot (and other bands like metalica darkest hour and more i cant recal) just wanted to support u in the fact that the fans are fighting when the musicians are expanding their horizons.
@Pyroflea53 i totally agree with everything you said dude, deathcore/metalcore/hardcore type bands are not scene. especially the acacia strain there way too heavy and actually they hate on scenes watch there live vids
Odviously Acacia knows good music, that's why they picked this song. How could a band possibly hate a cover of their song first off, it's there song! It help them get more fans! And whoever said Acacia was scene, go to one of their shows sometime and say that.
@IC3dMelee Considering 3 out of the four band members have shaved heads, I don't think a "scene haircut" joke really works. Although I agree entirely with you point about punk goes pop, that stuff is almost entirely fucking horrible.
BTW if almighty ozzy was so pissed off im sure hed say something... he didnt say anything when lil jon used his beat and voice in a song... and i guarantee vincent got an OK from the osbourne amp before doing this
I hope to god that the prince of darkness (that would be Ozzy, you dipshit scene kids) himself commends Acacia on this song. It's fucking bruuuutal and so is Acacia.
@Pyroflea53 No, you'd see "Wow, talk about jumping the shark." No that I agree with that, but every subgenre has narrow-minded people. These comments are inevitable when a band covers a song from a band who makes different sounding music for a different group of group. Like that convoluted definition of a "scene?" From the cover band's perspective, it's a good way to convert new fans or least get the attention of a different scene.
Total props for the instruments. The vocals though could use a heavy cover up. If they re-released this with better vocals then this would be a top cover single.
if the vocal line lacks any melody, then its not war pigs. half the attraction was the awsum SUNG melody. not ratting on this sort of metal, just the vocals ruined the awesome instrumental bits.
the music sounds great but his vocal style doesnt quite fit. thats my only complaint about acacia strain there vocals arent very flexable. oh well still good
@IC3dMelee Your entitled to your opinion, anyone to likes Black Sabbath is obviously gonna hate this, but get your facts straight, Acacia is NOT 'scene' whatsoever. Bree free since 2003
well this song wasnt really doomy compared to their other stuff it was kinda anthemic with grooves, i always thourght it would make a good djent/metalcore cover because of the grooves, heavyness andcrazy drumming. i think they did a great job of giving it a djent vibe that they wanted to
Just. No. I've been a fan of these guys since early 2004, just before 3750 came out, but a fan of Sabbath since 1990 when I was six. This is just awful. Not only do they just not get the vibe of the song, the mastering quality is too much and Vincent is drowned out. Just bad.
@sbishopMTL I love the Acacia Strain, i think they're awesome. But they will never, ever ever be better or bigger than Black Sabbath. Sabbath are the Godfathers of metal. They invented it. Even the Acacia Strain has their downsides. Most songs sound the same and the lyrics are pretty mehh but listenable. Idk, just my opinion. I love Sabbath and Acacia Strain.
Jesus Christ. I was really getting into the song, it was sounding like a great cover. And then the vocalist came in. What the hell, man? Way to totally ruin the song... the music is great all over, was digging the instrumental breaks, but the vocals are just plain horrible. Revolting. What a shame, the rest of the song is fantastic.
