Thank you for bringing this amazing destination "back" into attention! Been going since mid 80' s, and although not so many Americans and Europeans anymore ( that's ok!) It's never lost it's charm! Thanks for putting the " fear thing" into perspective. The best authentic videos....one after another!
Hi Paul! Yes it’s so nice - a little rough around the edges but once you settle in, it’s grows on you. It’s definitely been through it’s fair share of ups and downs. We truly enjoyed it and are so glad that we could share our experiences with others. 💕
I was born in Acapulco , now I live in Chicago, I’ve been here since 1985, I’ve been hearing all the times how bad and dangerous is there, however I’ve going back 2 to 3 times a year, and just like you WE ENJOYED it every time. THANK YOU very much for showing the world how wonderful that place can be, you are too wonderful people god bless you., keep that beautiful and contagious smile… every year people tell not to go there and my answer is always…..WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS ALSO LOOKING FOR YOU. In the name of all the people from Acapulco THANK YOU ♥️♥️♥️♥️🎈👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Wow I love that saying! What you are looking for is looking for you. If you’re looking for trouble it will find you or if you’re looking for a good time - you’ll find it!!
We live in the Diamante area of Acapulco and it's particularly nice here. Huge beach that is much quieter (with a very light coloured sand). The Princess Hotel is a cool place to visit, it's a five star hotel with flamingos, swans and a mackaw bird and they have a nice cafe on the beach with lots of palm trees. This area is quite safe. I don't think Acapulco is any more dangerous than many large cities in the world as long as you don't go off the beaten path and like you said keep your whits about you.
Stayed at the Princess 5 times is the last 7 years. Loved the luxury, service, food and serenity. Tavola Restaurant is 5***** and the Beach Club Jumbo Shrimp are incredible. Starbucks in the Lobby nice as well. So many nice restaurants in Diamante and so close to the Airport.
The most dangerous thing I see in this video is the fact they're driving a scooter on mexican roads with mexican traffic. In mexico generally speaking if you mind your own business you'll not be bothered.
I definitely want to go to Acapulco! My grandparents went there every winter for about 15 years when I was younger and always brought us souvenirs back from the beach. The ice cream at the end looked perfecto!
Good job guys, Acapulco used to be the Cancun of 60s-80s time, was very popular with Hollywood celebrities, back then Cancun was not really on the tourist map, and Tulum was just a fishing village, it's good to see Acapulco still retain it's charm . Mexican Rivera Maya is invaded with sea weeds ,so I guess some tourists are choosing Pacific coast and Baja California over Caribbean. Have fun guys, cheers 🥂
You are the cutest couple and sweet people! Your respect of the culture, the people and country is so awesome ! Thanks for showing all the beauty of Mexico ✨✨💗
I was born in Acapulco and came to the L.A. at age 12, I had some of my best memories growing up in Acapulco in the 90's there used to be festivals at the beach and was the #1 touristic place worldwide then. I'm happy to see you guys enjoy my hometown 🙏🏽
@@Designer_TopG I mean I don't know if you're really trying to live in Acapulco at this moment it's not the safest today and since I haven't been there in 20 years I don't know how the employment levels of employment are nor how safe it is for tourists or locals ..
Hi guys! We just got back home to Australia yesterday after our big trip to Mexico! We’re we’re in Acapulco 2 week’s ago! We drove in from Puerto Escondido. Love your videos and adam please keep your “dad” jokes coming. You’re hilarious! We love you guys!
Aww wow!! That’s amazing - we just missed you! Haha oh I don’t think he has the capacity to ever stop - he gets as much of a kick out of them as we do! 😆 Happy to hear your travels were safe! Thanks for watching!
Heidi & Adam! Wow, you knocked it out of the park with this one! We love your adventures, and have watched every one of your videos - this was one of the best! You have put Acapulco on the "must see" map for us. Many thanks! Keep up the great work. 😍😍
Your Mexico travel vlogs really are the absolute best across the board: quality, content, aesthetics, engagement with the country. Thanks for another wonderful video. :) What a sweet moment at the top of the mountain, by the way. I lost my sister in my thirties, and it never really goes away. It's a crappy club to be a part of, and I'm sorry, Heidi. In moments of stillness and connection with nature, we can tune in with the ethereal if we're open. I had some very intense experiences when I did the Camino a few years ago. Sending you good energy in your healing.
Thank you so much. My sisters name is Heather. 😍 She passed in March 2020, so same boat as you. Losing her in my 30s. It’s hard but I feel like I’m finally riding the wave with her instead of being hit by it.
@@TheCountryCollectorsNice video. I just stumbled upon Acapulco b/c back in the day many game shows would have people win trips to there, but not today. I always was told it was dangerous, but you showed a beautiful side of Acapulco. Thank you, and I'm sorry to hear about your sister, Heather.
In 1982,I was 22 and a student living in Mexico city ,and was able to take 3 separate 8 hr bus trips to Acapulco .It was a beautiful and special place .It was considered safe then .I ate some good food ,swam in the ocean ,went out on a party boat, went parasailing ,and saw the cliff divers .Good times. thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.
I’m sorry but wait this video is over??? I couldn’t believe a half hour went by…I want more!! I saw so much more than I did when I went to ACA you guys are the most underrated Mexico travel vloggers by far!
This made me very happy - a beach destination and a longer video! What a great start to my day. Thank you so much for showing us around Acapulco it is on my list now!
Thank you so much for all the fantastic tips, great spots, things to do … and showing us that Acapulco is still worth taking a vacation there. It’s breathtaking… so glad you are back at the ocean.
Yes it’s a beautiful spot that has unfortunately been branded with a big red ❌ . We would absolutely go back! Thanks for being here and experiencing our weeks with us!! Have a wonderful day Tammy!!
Hi Heidi and Adam, what a fantastic video, it’s great how you took the positive approach to going to Acapulco, majority of videos on you tube say “is it safe there, Acapulco is dangerous “ I’ve have visited there for the past eight years, go out every day from where we stay, and never an issue, like you said there’s danger everywhere in the world, the cliff divers are fun to watch, Acapulco has beautiful sunsets, what a beautiful view from the cross, thank you for all the great information and positive vibes. 👍🏼😊😊❤️🇲🇽
You guys came across my radar about 4 months ago and you both have captivated me with your personalities, sincerity and spark.....the puns, the smiles and your vulnerability here when you were reflecting at the capilla brought tears to my eyes. God bless you both. Thank you for being the best vloggers in Mexico
Really liked how you blended in some of the things you’ve been doing through the week into that days video. Thank you so much for bringing us along! We travel to Mexico about four times a year and everyone I know asks… do you really feel safe there? It might just be me but I feel so much safer in Mexico than I do say… Dallas, Orlando, Chicago, or some of the other bigger towns in America. Might just be me and my family but it’s a very spiritual country with soooo much to offer!
Acapulco needs more comments like this. Totally unfair the way this lovely place has been exhibited to the World. My gratitude to The Country Collectors.
When Heidi was explaining how the boys used to climb that cliff I thought "to become men", and then Adam said it and that's how you know we're related 🤣💕
Thank you guys for sharing Acapulco with us. Wow! It's beautiful! Heidi, every time you get emotional, so do I. I got goosebumps just as you said you did. What a blessing to visit such a place. 💙
Another beautiful video guys .You put Acapulco back in the map, everything looks so pretty and calm it’s another great destination and the way you presente it I love..!
The beaches look incredible. Thank you so much for taking us here. And you are so right - people are going to tell you things and that is based on their experiences. You really do need to do things for yourself. Acapulco looks like a great spot for a vacation.
As always, so amazing! You keep making my "must visit" list longer and longer 🤣 I can't wait to get started! Thank you so much for all you do and being you😘 Have a wonderful week to my two favorite people to visit with every Sunday morning 😊
My husband is from a tiny town in the mountains of Guerrero called Chichihualco. When we visit each year we always head down to Acapulco. I adore Acapulco, such a different vibe, very down to earth place. This video made me miss it so much! Thank you so much for showing the positive side of this beautiful place! Saludos!🏝☀️🏖
Really enjoyed seeing Acapulco through your eyes. Welcome back to the beach! We are off to Cancun from Belize next Sunday, then headed for Lake Chapala for a while. Can’t wait to see where you go next!
Hi guys, I just discovered this video yesterday. My wife and I had gone to Acapulco nearly every year for a span of 15 years until we had our daughters in 2000 and 2003. It was much harder to travel after that. We just loved that place. The people that we met were very friendly. We mostly ate at places that the locals ate at. We have several friends down there that we would like to see again .
First time I went to Acapulco was in 1968 and I've loved it ever since. Your video brought back many memories from those many years ago when I was 18 on that first visit.
Heidi, you just made me cry when you said you felt God and your loved one in that quite place with that view 💛💙💛 I just recognized myself in you in that scenario.
such a pitty you couldn't go ti barra vieja. I live in Mexico city and as you already probably know, us from the CDMX go to Acapulco every time we have a weekend to spend and every time I do, I alway go to Barra vieja for their famous huachinango a la plancha ( huge delicious grilled fish) at one of the semi- Virgin beaches. very calm and romantic place to spend with your other half. you would have loved it. I follow a bunch of RU-vid travelers for a couple of years now, and you guys have become my favorite in just a couple of month's. you are so great, I love you both.
Hi Ricardo! Oh yes we will have to make a trip back for sure! I had that fish in acapulco though and it was so delicious! Thanks for your support my friend. We are happy you’re here.
This very beautiful place even used to be considered the best beach tourism area in the whole world since more than 70 years ago! There are even great songs about this very beautiful place by such world class artists such as: Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Frank Sinatra (Come Fly With Me) and even Ringo Starr (with his "Las Brisas" song) and even the "Clinton's" (President Clinton and his wife) said that they decided to have their "honeymoon" there! Therefore it's a shame that so many insecurity problems have come over this very beautiful place over the last 20 years but still not even that could take away such great beauty! that so many people from all over world have appreciated, enjoyed and even recommended so much and for so many years! they sure were right! and they still are right! that's for sure! in that great appreciation! so thank you so much for bringing us back such very good memories that many of us have from such a beautiful place! and also for showing us and to the world that this very beautiful place is not now actually a "war zone"! just as many people would think today! or would imagine today after so many bad news from such a beautiful place! a very beautiful place! I'll say it again! 👍
Hi Ramon! I love everything you said. Thank you so much for being here with us and for experiencing all of this. We hope that people will see it isn’t what the media makes it out to be. Indeed it is beautiful!
Congrats on another amazing video. Your videos are hands down the most entertaining and informative travel videos out there ( best production value as well). I briefly crossed paths with you both at a taco stand just south of the Tulum bus station a year ago..I noticed your filming and you explained it was for your RU-vid channel and suggested checking it out. If I'm not mistaken I believe there were fewer than 200 people subscribed at the time. What a difference a year makes (can't believe Tulum was a YEAR ago) Anyway congrats on the well deserved success of your videos, they truly are the BEST ones out there. Nice to see two really cool people doing so well. Country Collectors 4EVER.
Hey Larry!! Thank you so much! Oh my gosh yes! Thanks for bringing that memory up. This year has just flown by. We’re so happy 😀 to have you here and how cool you have seen our journey from just starting out. We love going back and watching our first videos. What a year!! Thanks 🙏 for being here and we wish you a wonderful day!
I laughed all the way through your video because you went to almost every place I go when I visit Acapulco! I've even eaten lunch at the juice bar (their sandwiches are good, and the view is great)! You must have done your research beforehand because most people wind up taking a tour to the isla de la roqueta ... the pangas from caleta/caletilla are how the locals and national tourists get there! Too bad you missed Pie de la Cuesta / Barra de Coyuca though .... but it gives you a reason to go back ;) The first year I went to Acapulco the fort was open, but I didn't go - now I kick myself as it's been closed ever since. Oh - one thing I find in Acapulco is that the prices for restaurant meals, even along the costera, are incredibly affordable - even for a tourist town. Easily half to 3/4 what you'd pay in Puerto Vallarta.
Hey Brett! Oh yes I do my research 🧐 thoroughly before every video! Gotta be prepared! Plus love getting to know all I can about a place. We actually were low on time so just wanted to go direct! Yes we found the food to be super reasonable as well!
You two are the cutest and funniest couple on RU-vid! Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with the great advice! Cheers and safe travels 🌎🌍🌏🥂
This is Paul ... and Gloria in Oaxaca. Thanks for another sterling video. We have another location on our list now, but we've got to go to Zihuatanejo first. Yes, that's right, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, about 90 miles north of Acapulco. When I lived in Cholula in the early 70's, we would drive to Zihuatanejo for a long weekend. At the time, it was an 11-hour drive. Some of our friends would hang out at Pie de la Cuesta, just north of the city. Gloria and I watched your video together and she just thinks you're so genuine, & I think so too.. You're very informative and a lot of fun at the same time.
Hi Paul and Gloria! 11 hours for the weekend wow! That’s commitment I love it! Ahh yes Zihuatanejo- it’s beautiful. We are here now! This coast has some wonderfully beautiful places. I saw a lot of small towns on the bus from Acapulco yesterday and was just imagining what their beaches looked like. As always thank you so much for being here we appreciate you both. Have a wonderful day.
Well, maybe my recollection was a little bit off. I spoke with my wife and I think it might have been more like 9 hours not 11, although it probably took me 11 one time. We were driving from Cholula so it was 2 or 3 hours just to get to Cuernavaca.
I’ve always wanted to go!!! But I he heard that it was dangerous or that there was a time that it got crazy, but wow!!!! The place looks amazing!!! I would definitely go!!! And the Airbnb is so cheap with a very beautiful view 😍
Yes 🙌 I know! The media only pushes what sells and danger is one of those things that people flock to. You know they have an agenda. It is a beautiful place just have to be careful like in any big city. We definitely recommend checking it out!
Good morning!!! We LOVE YOU GUYS❤️❤️My husband and I have been binge watching all yall videos since stumbling apon them a few months back. We are planning a trip to Acapulco in March SO EXCITED! I've never been to Mexico. He was born in Acapulco but hasn't been in about 25 years! Thank you for yalls videos!🙏 we also think it would be amazing to run into you guys haha
Thanks for showcasing my home away from home each year since 1994. You did Acapulco proud tambien. I know you're probably somewhere else by now but if you go again I have some great recommendations for you. Ok ok... I guess I'll subscribe. Jaja
Amazing video, as always. I appreciate you sharing how you get around Mexico and showing your accommodations. You also do an amazing job of showing everything you are doing and seeing. Your videos are always full of top-notch information. Thanks so much, and I hope you have tremendous success on RU-vid. Y'all definitely deserve it!
We've been catching up on your adventures. We've been to Acapulco and Taxco, but because we went with my Mexican relatives, we didn't get to experience it as a tourist. We will return one day soon and open our hearts to explore. We ate moving to Playa del Carmen next summer.
Yet another great video, guys. As you said it's good to see the other side. The last post I saw about Acapulco was that there are areas that even the police won't go because it is too dangerous. That kind of bad rap costs the city millions when people avoid going. Your video shows a wonderful place to visit as long as you are careful, like paying a few bucks for someone to watch the scooter. Good advice.
Yeah before going we did some research and saw that most the videos were all about how dangerous it was and we didn’t want to go that angle at all. I don’t think its appropriate when you don’t even live there to make bold statements like… “we heard it was dangerous, but it’s not,” because what do you really know when you’re just visiting for 1 week and staying in the tourist zone. It just seems irresponsible as a content creator. We wanted to highlight the good and also remind people to take precautions like always. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awww, Heidi. You truly touched my heart when you said you could feel your sister, and God at the Chapel of Peace. I sincerely pray God's blessings over you and Adam, and wish you both peace.
Thank you for making this video, Acapulco is a beautiful place to visit, I love staying in the Golden Zone and I remember getting pull over by the cops and I had to pay them 20 dollars to let me go lol good times, the fans really appreciate this video.
Hey! Oh yeah the golden zone is so cool. We loved just walking the beach checking out the hotels and people watching, great times. Oh jeez - I wonder if I didn’t have my camera on if something like that would have happened to us!
Great video of my favorite place Acapulco it’s the place where I was born and I visited when I can well like every six months I visited and that ice cream it’s delicious I always get the coconut flavor thanks for the video
wow.. a video that actually show Acapulco complet and not only the bad things! im glad you showed here isla Roqueta and San Diego frotress.. people think Acapulco is only some beaches and no history or nature. Saludos desde Acapulco jaja
You guys always find the best places to stay (aside from the one that flooded!). What a view from your place! Thanks for taking chances & showing us that stereotypes are just that. What a beautiful place. Thank you, again!
I highly recommend the breakfast buffet at the Fiesta Americana hotel, off Miguel Aleman coast road. I believe it's still owned by Televisa and you may or may not run into celebrities. All pools of any hotel I believe are accessible, At least the Hyatt and Fiesta Americana.
I loved your video!! It is more of a visual and personal journal than the average touristic thing!!! Acapulco is a magical place. It will never lose its magic. My kids love going there, and as a Mexican I appreciate you showing more places to go!!!
I hope you make it to Ixtapa Zijuatanejo! This was a fun video - great to see Acapulco in all of it's glory! It looks much better and less run down than when I was there quite a few years ago. So beautiful! ❤️
Man, Adam had me cracking up. Too funny lol. And I’m glad to see that Acapulco is doing a bit better now. It’s been very packed with locals. Also, it was very helpful of you to mention that you CAN film interactions with the police in Mexico. Some tourists don’t know that. Also, traffic police are not armed either.
