I truly envy the relationship Sonny has with his dad. Sonny can speak so freely in front of pops. A testament to how patient and nurturing his dad must've been in cultivating that confidence in his son. Truly a timely lesson for current and future parent to emulate from.

Love the intro. Dad is a balanced master with wise words for those who would keep themselves on a path of darkness. He has taught his Padawan well. TY. ❤ Oh my, the parting words as well. I see many people at the end of life. Whether or not they led a happy life, depends largely on what they brought to it.

13:35 I’m surprised how many still don’t get Vernestra’s angle. They’ve spelled it out so clearly. The Jedi are facing direct oversight by the Senate. She sent a “black ops” team to cover up a possible rogue padawan, and that team got wiped out. News of this gets out and the Senate will take away all Jedi autonomy, a dangerous violation of separation of powers. And Vernestra will absolutely be blamed. So she needs to handle it herself. Either everyone that knows will be dead, or will be forced to cover it up. There are still people crying about canon, I really don’t understand it. Canon is so damn secure.
@MrKrory
@MrKrory Месяц назад
Honestly, there is so much I see people saying doesn't make sense but I feel is pretty cut and dry - Vernestra's angle, Osha's darkness, Mae's heel-turn away from The Master. Even little things like why Mae didn't turn herself in anymore. It took a couple rewatches to pick up on some finer things (like I noticed in the beginning the criminal that Osha saved is ranting off-screen about her darkness after the Jedi re-catch them), but it's all there (aside from some things that, obviously, just have not been revealed yet like the true events on Brendok and Qimir's real identity).

Vernestra wants to keep the Jedi's name immaculate, she said more than once a scandal could be used by their political enemies, it wouldn't surprise me if she solved the mystery, only to sweep it under the rug.

Like the way Vernestra let Mog describe what he feels happened. She's sowing seeds - she let HIM say "Sol did this." She even deflects it (somewhat) to keep plausible deniability, but it's out there now. The thought is planted. She knows it's a Sith (her pupil?), but the Jedi can't have that in the public eye. But she still needs an excuse for the High Council... so why not a rogue Jedi? Something she will convince them she can easily handle. You're absolutely right, she's setting up to sweep this away and she's planning for Sol to take the fall... and when we find out what REALLY happened with the witches, it'll just be more evidence pointing to him.

Thanks for your positivity. I haven't enjoyed every bit of this show, but there has been some amazing acting and cool characters (Jacinto checks both of those boxes, imo). And of course that fight scene. I think when it's all over, it will be a great series to binge.

Something I noticed, Qimir’s Scars on his back! 😮 they look like light saber whip scars, and Venestra uses a whip light saber! This very well could be a situation that master Venestra is responsible for. They are leading us in the direction of believing that Qimir was Venestra’s rejected Padawan long ago and that Qimir is older than he looks. The unknown planet that Qimir and Osha are on could be Bal’demnic which, if I am not mistaken, bathing in the waters of Bal’demnic have the properties of extending life, which is why he may be much older than he appears, and he tells OSHA he was a Padawan a “very long time ago”, and master Venestra is a long lived species herself. The plot thickens.

As I've rewatched it and watched reactions, it really does feel like they've been very obviously laying the groundwork for Osha to be the acolyte. They *regularly* bring up her fear, especially when she was a child. The way Osha told Mae, "You're the violent one" seemed weird with the way it was presented but in retrospect almost feels like projection. Even in the beginning, the crazed criminal that she freed was just randomly ranting offscreen about her "darkness" when Sol goes to question him, easily dismissible as the rantings of a crazy person in the moment (and a little hard to catch because Sol and Vernestra are talking over him) but looking back could've definitely been foreshadowing. Then we get into Qimir's entire philosophy, which is exactly what Osha wanted as a child; the freedom to choose, the freedom to be. It's familiar enough to the philosophies of her family about not being policed by the Jedi while also suggesting the idea of choice that she so desperately wanted. That's why Mae didn't work as an apprentice and why she heel-turned so quickly - it wasn't just that she just wanted revenge, everything about her was for Osha, everything she did, everything she felt. She was killing these Jedi because of what she thought they did to her sister. From the very beginning all Mae wanted was to be with her sister forever. Osha, on the other hand... everything she did was for herself. Even her reaction to finding out Mae was still alive feels so much more detached than Mae's. She had to be *convinced* that she should care and help bring her in safely. I feel there's more to Osha then we're being shown and it all goes back to what happened on Brendok.

I think putting the helmet on will let Osha tap into the conversation Sol is about to have with Mae in the next episode.

What made the line about Master Vernestra getting nauseous in Hyperspace is the fact that shortly after becomming a Knight at age 16, she was a Wayfinder, scouting new Hyperspace Lanes. 😂 I also suspect that Qimir was her Padawan and that his scar is from her whip.

The fact the world Qimir is on has Cortosis we see the seam of the mineral, it could link to Darth Tenebrous as in the novel Darth Plagieus it mentions Tenebrous finding a rich seam of cortosis on a planet called Bal'demnic. So that could be the world they are on.

Yes Darth Plagueis''s master had the secret apprentice. That tried to take Plagueis out after Plagueis' had eliminated their master. I had the Darth Plagueis' book handy. In the legends book universe they did have dark force users that were not sith. They were out for personal gain not ruling the galaxy or going after the jedi. I've really been enjoying all the new star wars shows and looking forward to the new movies.

He is good, but I haven't heard him speak without a script, the hardest part of a new language are often the grammar and knowing how a correct sentence are put together. For example: the sentence "I have to skip my workout tonight" in my own language are said like: "Tonight must I skip my workout" if I do a more direct translation from my native language. By reading a script he gets the correct grammar automatically.

I really enjoy your reactions with your Dad. Mine HATED all things scifi lol. I must be in the minority as I am really enjoying this show but I don't pay any attention to the 'lore' or 'cannon' and for me its an escape from the shitshow of life! But also, I came into this thinking that this will be from the sith perspective and thus the jedi would, in effect. be the bad guys from their point of view. Sure, I have probably gotten the wrong impression, but at the end of the day, 'who really cares'? It's just supposed to be fun in a galaxy far far away. Please keep the reactions coming its always a 👍 from me.

But going back to Star Wars, I truly enjoy all of it for what it is, and escape and entertainment.

Very interesting episode. Love how Qmir is paiting things in a way that it feels familiar to Osha. Like how instead of saying the rule of two (master and aprentice) and said the power of two, which is something familiar to Osha. He tried fear with Mae but now he chyanged tactics is going full on seduction with Osha. Also you could feel the frustation and the anger over what just happened on Sol's face. But him going a la Qui Gon (ignoring other Jedi) may end up with him getting the blame for what happened, even more after whatever happened in Brendok gets revealed. Also Venestra felt like she knew more than she was saying this episode. Think she was Qmir Jedi master.

I'm confused. If some SW fans *really* don't like the show, why are they still watching, and then griping about it so hard? They come across as almost victimized. *Normally, people avoid things they don't like...* I can only guess that they're into being the turd in the pool.

Huge Star Wars fan. I am not watching this show. It doesn't appeal to me. I watched ep 1 and 2, and by ep 3, i lost interest. It feels like utter fanfiction. I dont like any of the characters. The writing is shallow, needlessly confusing, and uninteresting to me. There are probably a dozen more reasons I could mention... The flip flopping motivations. Another show where the jedi are terrible and corrupt. Poor and lackluster music. Illogical story progression. Strange and offputting writing. Terrible world building. The breaking of cannon is the least of my issues. I'm happy you like it, but there are many fans like myself that are not enjoying it, and feel its just not good enough.

I’m not up on the High Republic era, I never read the books etc, so I am just judging this series based on its own merits. That being said, I’m just watching this series to see the story, to see how (as it has been said) the Jedi found themselves on the path to ( supposedly) extinction and the Sith rising to the power we see them have with prequel stories (as they are called). As we all know, the Jedi were not all wiped out, and in this series I think the Jedi are going to discover, or are slowly becoming aware, that the Sith really didn’t die out as they have thought. Fans fusing about whether this series is cannon,the writing’s bad/good etc doesn’t tell me much either. As you have said here Sonny many don’t explain why they dislike what is going on in this series. As for me if a person is so offended by what they are watching, they need to exercise their abilities to just not watch it. If you don’t like it state clearly why. Just saying something “sucks” or any other buzz words ( some of which are being used incorrectly, but that’s a whole other subject and not Star Wars related) doesn’t promote healthy discussions. Just be satisfied with the fact that not everyone is going to see this Star Wars world the same as you..including the writers and directors.. and that’s okay.

Tastes are different - so I certainly wouldn't say that you shouldn't like this show... ...but the many "weird" moments, the strange dialogs and the portrayal of the Jedi and their abilities, e.g. Jedi Master Sol doesn't realize who he's dealing with: Mae or Osha? Or Jedi are killed and nobody "feels" anything? The first guess as to who the murderer might be falls on an honorable Jedi - Sol? ("Master Sol is resposible..." WTH!?!?! He called them in the first place!!! The appearances and departures in the middle of dialog, just to leave ambiguity between the protagonists and then Sol flies away - WTF!? The strange "humor"... Droids splashing in your face. These weaknesses would certainly have been worth mentioning and these mistakes. You shouldn't have smiled away problems and shortcomings! But, but, but...I think I can see that you both see very clearly how inadequate this show is, the lack of enthusiasm cannot be hidden - ""I FEEL THE CONFLICT WITHIN YOU!""
@bowdennthani732
@bowdennthani732 Месяц назад
1. Most of the complaints you've raised are questions. They're not something wrong the show. I can do that with literally any movie/series, and then say it is terrible because of it. Questions are well and good, but they have explanations: - Sol is shown to be clearly distressed. Furthermore, he was just from a dark place. He is not in tune with the force at the moment. - There is nowhere where it has been established that 'somebody' supposed to feel it when any Jedi is killed, so there is no internal contradiction. - The 'first guess' was made by one guy. And it was immediately questioned in a way that seemed like a reprimand. Why is this something wrong with the show? During investigations, it is normal for anybody involved to be a suspect. Heck, the first suspect in such instances is usually the only one who survived. If I did it and didn't want to raise suspicion, I'd call them too... it would be more suspicious if I just disappeared and they later found everybody else dead. 2. Could you expand on the dialogue point? I am not sure I get it and do not want to misrepresent you. 3. The humor doesn't land with you. That's fine. If you're not already enjoying the show, I'd expect you won't find the humor enjoyable either. Again, not sure why that is something wrong with the show? Is there anything objectively wrong with that, or do you just not like it? Those are not the same, and your comment seems to be conflating the two. ... THESE are the things you've pointed out as "weaknesses". No major plot holes or story-line inconsistencies. Moreover, you appear to presume that because you are not enjoying the show, then nobody else is too. And thus people are simply pretending to enjoy it. It's okay to not like something. And there are many, many channels you can go for the hate. Or if you prefer it this way, you can voice your displeasure in channels such as this one too. But you really don't need to make stuff up about other people.
