So because people watch the whole show to actually review it are hooked on it? What kind of person sharing their opinions on a show would say “it’s a bad show, I didn't Finnish it, but it’s bad” people who watched the whole thing were probably seeing if the show makes a comeback but you can’t just say ppl that don’t like the show dwell on nostalgia
I agree. I actually really liked this show 😅 and it's weird because usually I nitpick everything but maybe I had such low expectations for this that there really wasn't any reasons for me to be disappointed. I'm just glad there are no skywalkers in this one, that they showcase how corrupt both the Senate and Jedi are and how this ultimately leads to the events seen in clone wars. I do agree the writing and delivery could be better and hopefully they fix that for season 2
@@xLORDFREDOMx The Senate werent corrupt. They were just assholes. But the one Jedi with the Light Whip, it was fucked up that she put all the heat on Sol, to get the Senate off their backs. I forgot to talk about that.
@@Walt_Xander94 It makes sense that that guy might be aligned with the Sith - Palpatine and Palageus were obviously busy doing politics to setup for what happened in the prequels for a long time.
Long time Star Wars fan here... I didn't watch the Acolyte. I literally came here just to say that. Fyi I didn't watch this video and I don't care, just like I didn't to watch the Acolyte. If this video is actually negative about the Acolyte and it is clickbait then I guess you got me.
Horrible is an exaggeration - especially considering this franchise isn’t know for its great writing. There were some narrative issues yes, but there was some good stuff in there too

The only filmbthat met that bar since, T6: Dark Fate. And if I watched that Halo tv show, it'd be at that bar too. Stuff that just absolutely betrays a franchise. Which doesn't apply to Star Wars(& the MCU), because you people bitch about EVERYTHING they do. It's impossible to take ya'll seriously.
@@Walt_Xander94BvS had a better story with less plotholes than the acolyte. Mae’s character is hugely inconsistent, changing motivations often without reason. Stuff like the snifferalien suddenly having a change of heart, Qimir getting off with a warning for being complicit in the murder of a Jedi master, Mae and Osha being evenly matched in their battle even though Osha hasn’t trained in years, Sol and Qimir being evenly matched, but Mae disarming Sol quickly, even though Qimir was able to murder a group of Jedi. Small things like Torbin endangering a mission and clearly being an emotional wreck, yet attaining the rank of master within 6 years, Mae entering the Jedi temple at will, Mae going through quite some trouble to get through the front door of the temple to get to Torbin, even though there’s a huge open hole over Torbin’s room. The premise of the story is great though.

There’s a reason why 80% of critics gave it a good review. @@Periodik if critic ratings have proven one thing over the last few years it’s that they’re biased and bought. The force awakens has a rotten tomatoes score of 93, the last Jedi 91 and kenobi 82. Also not surprised you stopped reading after the first sentence. You make rash and inaccurate assumptions based upon limited information thinking you have something profound to say. The acolyte therefor is perfect a story for you, it’s full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
This show was pretty good. I'd say a 7.5 to an 8 after a rewatch. Unfortunately the RU-vid algorithm will showcase any negative comments about Disney Star Wars so most creators will just parrot the same disparaging talking points. Sadly their fandom doesn't understand most creators are taking that stand due to monetary reasons and just regurgitate that opinion across the internet. Kudos to you for giving your honest thoughts and calling people out. I'm excited for season 2.
complainer here. Haven't watched any Star Wars since Andor. Because Andor made me realise that Star Wars can be good and I should focus on that, instead of hatewatching everything. So unless something interesting like Andor happens; I won't watch anymore
@@terriblecertainity Andor? The one with normal people? There's nothing interesting about that, its just the Rebels' side of things. Star Wars didn't become a franchise because of normal, powerless characters.

@@Walt_Xander94 It's interesting because it's a good show, that's why I watched it. I stopped watching starwars shows halfway through book of Boba Fett. It's kind of amazing, they started something great with Mando but then pissed it all away putting out total garbage for some reason. I only watched Andor b/c I heard people talk about how good it was, and it would have been great even if it wasn't about starwars at all, it was just a good show like how Game of Thrones was just a good show.
@@Walt_Xander94 Star Wars became a franchise because of space battles, there were barely any force powers in the OT, most of the appeal came from stuff like the space battles, speeder bike scene and a few light saber fights (which were super lame compared to the prequels)

I am glad you and a dozen other people like this show, but most people's reasons for disliking this show aren't related to nostalgia- unless by that you mean people upset writers, that never watched star wars, decided to mess with it's lore lol. Most people hate this show because the writing is terrible, the few good ideas were executed poorly, and the acting sucks. I'd rather be a "complainer" than a mindless consumer that just accepts and watches whatever garbage is given. I stopped watching after the first episode, but I care about star wars, I still watched reviews and clips, positive and negative and you are wrong in your assessment of us "complainers."
A lot of people are NOT watching it, it didn't even show up in the top 10 Nielsen ratings last week. I only watched the last two episodes and otherwise just watched youtube videos complaining about it, lol.
@@takanara7 If that was the case, there wouldn't be YT & TikTok vids left & right of these "fans" that are blinded by nostalgia of IV & V, bitching about the show or making assumptions EVERY TIME a new episode dropped.
I like to watch all the stuff so that I can form my own opinion separate from the internet, and tell other people if something is good or bad from an informed standpoint. That being said, the Acolyte is not good. The fights are good, but overall, the show can’t decide what its message is. It can’t decide if the Jedi are good or bad. It can’t decide who’s oppressed or even who’s in the wrong. We are supposed to root for everyone and no one, which just creates a confusing soup of muddy characters. Why does Mae keep flip flopping allegiance with no prompting? How can Qimir expect to be left alone by the Jedi if part of what he wants to do is kill people? Why are the Jedi supposed to be bad simply because they hold power, yet almost everything we see them do is within their rights and benevolent. Also, Sol didn’t “kill” Mother Aniseya. They try to use the word kill to mean murder, as if Mother Aniseya did nothing wrong. But remember that in that scene, tensions were about to break into fighting, and Mother Aniseya decides that it’s a good idea to (with no explanation or reassurance) TURN INTO A CRAZY THREATENING DARK SMOKE MONSTER AND DISINTEGRATE HER CHILD. Sol reacted how anyone would in order to stop the CHILD DISINTEGRATION from happening, and actually saves Mae’s life. Murder implies malice, which Sol had none of. He was simply acting to save Mae from her mother. My point is that it’s possible to watch the whole show and be disappointed and not like it. However, I do think that if they were to get a season 2, they should scrub the show clean of all unnecessary characters like Vernestra, and all identity politics and what not, and go back to the drawing board and write a clean slate show about Plagueis and Qimir and Osha. I liked Qimir overall and think he deserves more screen time, but a serious downside of a season 2 would be the effect it would have on the story of Anakin’s birth. So while Plagueis is cool, the fights are good, and Qimir deserves a chance to be a good character, I don’t know if that outweighs the possible damage a season 2 could have on the greater Star Wars universe. Also 8 episodes at 30 minutes each (even the finale!) is criminal. They needed longer episodes or more episodes to fix the pacing and build likable characters. The memory wipe scene hold no emotional weight whatsoever because we haven’t seen the sisters bond in any way since the fire and their relationship wasn’t well defined enough to believe that they could overcome that. Also Mae did directly and quantifiably cause the death of all of the witches in the coven. It doesn’t matter if she meant to start the fire, she did start it. If she took ownership of that and asked Mae for forgiveness rather than blaming the Jedi and then saying that she didn’t mean to start a fire so it shouldn’t matter that everyone they love is dead, they could have crafted a more meaningful arc between the sisters and a more meaningful alliance between them at the end. It’s like if I intentionally cut my brothers arm in anger, and then the cut gets infected and he has to have it amputated, me not meaning to have caused an infection doesn’t mean anything. I still caused my brothers arm to be amputated. In a very real sense, Mae caused the death of Aniseya, even if Sol struck the blow, which he should take ownership of.
