The power scaling just seems all over the place. He kills like 8 Jedi but struggles against a padawan? And why does the twin switch from wanting to turn herself in to trying to kill the Jedi trying to arrest her?
Really good points to be honest. On the Sith Lord… maybe it’s a bit of the arrogance from the Jedi order and they have really underestimated their opponent. But saying that they would be training all the time. It was like in the revenge of the sith when palpatine killed all three Jedi masters really easily! When it comes to Mae, I’m not too sure. I think comes across really scared of the Sith Lord and just wants to run away. Maybe in episode 4 she thought the Jedi could protect her and after seeing them get defeated so easily, the only thing she could think to do is run.
This episode was, by far, the best "Acolyte" had to offer. The bar wasn't really high, to begin with -- but it's good to see improvement! The episode was a rollercoaster of going between "This is actually cool!" and "WHAT? That is so stupid!" - bringing back the prequel trilogy PTSD (intentionally or not). The episode was absolutely stolen by the "Sith" character who instantly becomes a star of the show. It highlights how bland and one-dimensional our heroes have been so far. It takes a shock therapy introduced by the villain to deliver so-needed contrast to the cast made out of characters who either didn't know the truth or didn't tell the truth. All in all, the tone shift in this episode was a welcomed one and it makes a step towards salvaging the series from being an absolute failure.
Apologies for the very late response! I agree with you. The first 2 episodes were turbulent and then episode 3 and 4 were rough because they just weren't great at all! I really think they have missed a trick when it comes to building out the depth with the characters, which is something that, for me personally, i'm not used to!
